I was disappointed as I have always loved it here. Service was really just unacceptably slow. Some of the things we ordered didn’t come and silverware was not replenished so we couldn’t eat even when food finally arrived.
Food and outside atmosphere was amazing, but our table was too close to loud people.
Food, drink + ambiance were outstanding- perfect night in the north end. Service took review down some notches. Hostess was snippy + impatient with us + others, and our server added an additional $50+ in invalid charges to put bill - likely trying to scam us. Then when we paid + asked for the total amount including the tip to be charged on a card, server tried to add 20% gratuity to the amount we already indicated was inclusive of gratuity. Shady/dishonest tactics.
Celebrating a birthday and wait staff was very attentive. All dishes were delicious but one was a bit bland. Noise level was high but very pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely be back
Food was nothing special. The sauce was bitter; veal parmigiana was thick and had no flavor. We won’t be back.
Horrible service. We will not be back.
Very average Italian food- nothing special. They have a nice outdoor seating area and it’s fun to soak in the atmosphere. But the service was very slow/ inattentive and the food was just so so.
Second time eating here, and again, everything was spectacular! The food was amazing, the service was top notch. The restaurant is clean, and has notable romantic ambiance. I would recommend Florentine to anyone I know heading to the north end for a night out! Thank you :) We had a wonderful evening.
Great food and service. I'll go back
All the food we order was delicious! We especially liked the lobster ravioli. Enjoyed sitting by the open window. Feels like your eating outside with the protection of being indoors. Will return!
Great food, excellent service and reasonable prices for the North End. And we got to sit by the open windows in the front, which is fun!
Food was ok
Excellent venue for outdoor seating in the North End, quality food at a reasonable price, and great atmosphere!
Great location in the North End with outdoor seating. Caesar salad and meatball appetizer were average. Rest of food was good but was expecting better.
The seating inside by the open windows on a sunny weekend is pretty hard to beat in the North End. Our server was very accommodating of multiple food allergies and coordinated several options with the kitchen. Will definitely be back soon.
Lovely spring evening at a window table. Outstanding service and food. We always try to get here when we are in Boston. It never disappoints.
Was so nice to eat outside at the Florentine Cafe on a warm spring night. It was our first time at a restaurant in a very long time, the North End was bustling, and it felt great to be out. Service was excellent and accommodating of our special requests for serving food for the kids. Cocktails and wine were delicious, as was the food. Good portion sizes leave you feeling full but not stuffed and the antipasti appetizer was plenty for a party of four. Seating was out on a partitioned part of Hanover street, which can be busy and have some loud vehicles driving by, but it was worthwhile to have the outdoor option. We will be back!
Had an entire drink spilled on me was charged for it. Never cleaned up the glass under our table and tried to charge us for extra items.
Nice place, great location. When it’s warm enough, the window onto the street are open. Food is consistently excellent over the years.
This place was a let down. My lobster ravioli was delicious, everything else was average or worse. Definitely do not get the gnocchi. It tasted eerily similar to Trader Joe's frozen section food.
We went for lunch for our daughters birthday and our waiter was very dismissive and unwilling to make an attempt to accommodate her lunch request. Our reservation was for 1:30, we arrived and ordered drinks and an appetizer. At about 2:00 when we asked to order our waiter informed us that they were still serving the brunch menu and could not make a pasta dish until 2:30. Our daughter had been looking forward to lunch in the north end and all she wanted was a basic pasta dish. We asked if they could possibly make an exception and he said no. He then suggested another restaurant down the street and sent us on our way. It was very disappointing.
The food snd service was good, with the 90 min we just felt rushed. Not their fault
I reserved an outside table for 7 and when we arrived, on time we were told that there was no table available ( their excuse was that I did not confirm the reservation even though the Open Table app said that my reservation was confirmed) After another 30 minutes my group was given two indoor tables ( close to each other but separated by a glass door) This solution was disappointing as we had a very COVID conscious individual who did not want to join us if we were eating indoors ( he thankfully rolled with the change) and disappointing that we did not get to sit together as a full party. This event was very special as I traveled from California to spend time with these people and felt disconnected during our meal.
On the positive side the food was excellent and the ambiance was great as well.
Great local spot, has large bar for those who like to eat/drink there.
The food and service were great for Easter morning brunch! The front door was left open and it was cold inside the restaurant. Otherwise they would have received five stars. I would go back and recommend to others.
It was great
The lobster ravioli was amazing! Great spot for a date night. Nice quiet atmosphere and good service. Will definitely be back!
Very romantic and quaint environment. The staff were great and the food was delicious! Definitely try it out.
I love going here with my boyfriend. It’s our favorite place. We found it after covid hit and we have always felt so safe and comfortable there. Their ingredients are so fresh and drinks are so delicious. One of my favorite spots if you’re getting a quick drink and appetizer, or having a full course meal. Food and service is spectacular!
Didn’t get laid but that arugula salad was fire
Great food and drinks!
We celebrated Valentine's day, it was very romantic!! The food was delicious. We will definitely come again.
Great restaurant, service, the food was spot on and our server Ronnie was caring and attentive.
Good food and not too pricey. Authentic North End meal.
Felt safe and separated from other guests. The service is always great and the food was delicious!
Great espresso martinis
The lobster ravioli was outstanding and the chicken ziti and broccoli delicious- best I’ve ever had. The sangria and espresso martini both were very good. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend Cafe Florentine to family and friends!
We celebrated my daughter's birthday. The food was excellent. Each of us enjoyed our meal choice tremendously. Our server was also excellent. The tables were spaced well for coping with Covid. We were seated downstairs and enjoyed the ambiance. I would definitely come again.
Eggplant App had no taste!!!
