Sitting outdoors was really nice!
We go to the Florence a lot for date nights, brunch with friends, and even for celebrations. The food is always good and I especially love the decor. They’re one of very few good restaurants in my area so I really hope they stick around!
Our second time there. A hidden little gem. My husband love's their pork chop. My salmon was outstanding.
A group of friends met at the Florence because of the location and because I'd heard good things about the place. We were there for happy hour so just wanted drinks and light snacks. The first two items we wanted to order were not on the menu because it was undergoing some changes. We were left with fries and onion rings, neither very special. The drinks were good and at decent prices. The place is very nice and the venue was quiet for our gathering.
Would I go there again? Maybe, just no overwhelmed at all.
Nice decor, spacious place (indoor and outdoor). Not too busy on the weekdays, people may come during happy hour. It’s in an industrial area where you can’t see the restaurant until you get into front. Food is good: deviled eggs are tasty, steak was cooked how I ordered it- medium , salmon was good -moist and skin had perfect crisp. The drinks we got were great, I liked the old fashioned and the one that had with ginger and honey. The strawberry one was refreshing also.
Three items were unavailable, the prime rib was well done beyond belief, there was a happy hour that was extremely loud with bad acoustics, service was slow.
It was really difficult to get service and the food wasn’t very good for how expensive it was.
I chose the Florence for a ladies' lunch. This venue is a great alternative to the hustle and bustle of strip malls and fast-casual dining. The ambiance is welcoming, open, and airy. Interesting menu and something for everyone. Enjoyed the Florence salad with salmon and then shared the chocolate croissant bread pudding. Fun!
Great space for an intimate dinner, catch up with a few friends or host an event. Great menu, and the desserts are heaven!
The service was great. Our server, Jordan, was attentive and responsive. The food was delicious, as well as the drinks. Overall a great experience. We were celebrating a birthday. After our meal, Jordan brought over a cup of ice cream with sprinkles to the birthday girl - it was lovely. I highly recommend this location.
food is amazing, good sized portions, super cute place
The full menu wasn’t available, as the NYD brunch was the only item on the menu. The food was ok, but it was rather cold as I was served buffet style and the burners weren’t frequently tended.
The food is normally really good, just bummed it wasn’t available
Great food and excellent service ! People need to know about this hidden gem. Looking forward to trying dinner there soon😃
Slow, cheap food, out of everything, staff nice but super super slow. Nice space and decor
Overall our experience was great and our server was really good but it seemed a little chaotic for the staff and short staffed as well.
It was just ok.
We made a reservation 2weeks ago and the reservation day one staff from the Florence called me and asked us if we could come early because sudden private party! We had to move to another restaurant. Waste our time! So unacceptable experience!
We were basically the only ones in the restaurant - so the staff started cleaning up the restaurant while we’re still dining. Made us feel like we needed to leave.
Great spot located in a convenient area for local businesses.
I had the prime rib - Florence cut. It was huge, but delicious. Get the Parker House rolls delicious!
Burger tastes like in n out. Porridge was decent, very nice ambiance
LOVED the atmosphere and decor. Drinks were tasty. I only had a small veggie but could have been cooked more for sure. Overall fun and will come back and hang outside with the kiddos!
To expensive and their drinks are small. Food is not that great. Not much on the menu to choose from. Never go back.
Two orders of eggs were undercooked. Waitress did not come back in a timely enough manner to say anything as food was getting cold. Food for party of 10 came out slow.
Overall was a fun time getting together with family. Please pay attention (food runners and waitress) to food as it comes out.
Ambience is awesome
Unfortunately the menu is awful
I have tried Both breakfast and dinner now and the food lacks flavor and variety. The menu is way too limited and the food needs improvement in both taste and variety. I really hope they can change things so they can be successful.
We tried this place twice - for dinner and brunch. Food portions for dinner were tiny but tasty. The breakfast menu was super basic and nothing special. Each time we had to wait a ridiculously long time to order, for food, to pay, for drink refills. Will not be returning
Great food! We enjoyed the happy hour and then dinner. The people working there went out of their way to make sure we had a fabulous time.
I was excited to go see it because Florence was my husband’s great Aunt. There is a lot of ambience but we were seated in a back corner. It took over a half hour for our orders to be taken and our food all came at different times. I did not eat mine because I didn’t like it. I would still try it again.
Best place to have Japanese food!
The restaurant is located in a hidden area.
I decorated well and it seems that the owners have spent a lot of money in it.
Is clean and quite upscale.
The only thing that worries me is the location
We will go again for coffee, branch and dinner
Loved the outdoor boathouse and all of the trees. The indoor space looks wonderful. Kacy was very sweet and attentive. Food was good, with nice variety. My only complaint is no one answers the phone, and no one responded to the email I sent.
The ambiance was wonderful. It was like a little slice of downtown in the suburbs. Cocktails were creative and delicious. The menu was limited and the two main dishes we had were bland and not very good. I would recommend to his place for the ambiance, cocktails and appetizers but not dinner.
None of us had been here, so we decided to give it a try since it was in the neighborhood. It was a real surprise. It was great. Restaurant was nice, had outside seating too. Server was very accommodating and patient. We sat there for hours and talked and ate. Would definitely go again. So many items looked good on the menu. We all had halibut and definitely enjoyed it. We’ll be back!!
Just a great restaurant for weekend brunch - great food and great location
Felt the facility far out weighed the food...Just so so. To bad, to far of a drive for me to come back...
The Florence is a much needed restaurant in inland North County - an independent with good bones and aspirations. There are a few independents in the Poway/Rancho Bernardo/Carmel Mountain/Scripps Ranch areas, but not nearly enough. The Florence can lay claim to an innovative atmosphere and stellar service. I've been three times and consistently each staff interaction has been smile inducing. Where they fumble is the food. It's only fair at best. But they'll get it right. Keep at it Florence team. We want you to succeed!
After looking at the menu, I was really looking forward to this dinner. After having eaten here, I have my doubts that I’ll ever return. I started with the tomato bisque, with was unlike any tomato bisque I have ever had. It was super thick, just like a marinara sauce. They really should have served it with spaghetti. It was just awful. For my meal, I had the steak frites. The steak was cooked properly, but it came out cold. I don’t know what cut of steak that was but one thing I am sure of, that was not a wagyu steak. The staff seemed friendly and mostly attentive but the food is just terrible. What a shame, because the menu looked so good. There were four of us at the table, and everyone pretty much felt the same way.
Excellent restaurant for weekend brunch - great location and great food. Excellent service
It was nice place, but the whole experience was mediocre, food, service, atmosphere. We won't be back too many better options.
Limited menu, what is available is good!
