Ambiance was good. Hostess and waitress were very nice, personal, and great representatives of The Fitzroy. Unfortunately it ends there. Gastropub prices at a bar level quality of food.
1. My chicken schnitzel came out 6 minutes ahead of my wife and kids meal. $21
2. I had to order this because the restaurant had been out of the mushroom bolognese for the last two days (still on their menu) $20
3 . Then my son’s roast chicken came out. It was actually well presented and tasted very good. The marinade was a nice citrus herb blend. $26
4. About 4 minutes later my wife and daughter’s steak and frites plates arrived. $32 each. The fries were good but not hot - warm. The medium steak was not - more well done. The steak was covered in a poorly executed Béarnaise sauce. It needed more tarragon, lemon, pepper and less salt.

If you are going to charge $32 a plate for something you get it right and not sort of close.

I’ve previously worked in restaurants (granted a long time ago now). I still cook for my family. Our poor experience at The Fitzroy this past Monday is on the Kitchen Manager (or Assistant ) The chef and team and overall the GM. There was a new waitress that was clearly struggling to get the kitchen to not even support her - at least cooperate with her. And clearly no one was spot checking dishes going out the door. It was a Monday night not a Saturday night. I would not recommend at all. Time for a team meeting to figure it out.

My choice for our 2nd anniversary that I had hoped was gonna be amazing but fell flat. There at 5pm reservation seated promptly. Waitress was pleasant and repeatedly apologetic for our food delay post small plate. It took till 620pm>45min for the large plate entrée the steak & fries which was full of fat pieces then my fish of the day was barely Luke warm. Once Waitress suggests dessert it was a big Ole no for us and we asked for the check. Husband goes to restroom, located a few steps away and I hear someone in the restroom yell as he's opened the restroom door, "I'm in here ". It was an employee standing in there smoking something strong that was too occupied with locking the door. We immediately headed past kitchen to exit down the steps and I witnessed a cook and 2 waitress eating food from the plated order ready shelf and 1 leaning against the wall in the kitchen eating food. One of them followed me down the steps craving the food in him mouth before we made it to the bottom. I was totally disgusted and couldn't believe we just spent over $120 in this place. I just wanted to get out of that place so no I didn't speak to a managerat the time. COVID is still prevalent in areas and so are other forms of diseases. I am a first responder doing my best to keep my surroundings clean and to witness all that was just unbelievable to me. I had intended to speak to management but they are closed on Tuesday &Wednesday. I just called and got a recording so just be careful if you decide to eat here. We practice patience for the reward is supposed to be greater. Not this time!! I hope this establishment sees this and makes some changes asap. This happened Monday June 7th 2021 5:15 reservation.

Mushroom Bolognese came barely warm, room temperature at best. Martini glasses (had a mock tail) very small and not filled to the top. Waited about 30 minutes between entree and dessert course. Waitress did not come back to check on drinks during that time or take the dessert off the bill.

Only disappointment was that the fish for the fish and chips was swordfish. Never thought to ask as was expecting a fresh local fish We are from north shore of Boston so swordfish is local. It was also undercooked. Probably better to stick to local fare. Great server, fun place

Dinner for four and cocktails were delicious, and most of our food was great! The two chicken schnitzels were sadly, very dry, and bland. We would have told them but our server disappeared. We had enjoyed the appetizers so just asked for dessert and was advised
they had closed
30 minutes prior. Wow. No check in, or offer of anything else but our bill.

Really enjoyed the burger, paired excellently with a cold beer. My wife enjoyed her fish & chips featuring grilled swordfish. Cheerful atmosphere & super friendly service. Lots more good stuff I want to try on this menu...!

First time here. The reviews were shaky but we kept our reservation. They are under new management as of very recently. Our table had some issues with the food and service but the manager was incredibly gracious. She said she just took over and is trying to sort out all of the obstacles. She handled our issues with impeccable attitude! We are from out of town and she offered us a return visit! We would return just based on her attitude!
We look forward to coming back later this year!

We were seated on the rooftop deck so the noise level was much more quiet than the downstairs bar/dining room. We were greeted by our waitress who was very pleasant, but she started off by telling us about all the items (food and beer) that were not available that night. The pappardelle for the mushroom bolognese was not available but at least in this case fettuccini was substituted. She knew very little about the beer selections that were available.
When dinner was served, my date requested bread with his meal and was told by the waitress that they had none. During dinner we heard people at the next table place their order only to have the waitress return to inform them that one of the items ordered was no longer available.
I understand that there have been major challenges for restaurants due to Covid 19 BUT.....this restaurant has a very limited menu to begin with, and if they are open for business, I feel they should have all menu items available.
As far as food quality and taste, we felt everything was good... but not memorable.

We took a girls trip to Savannah and loved The Fitzroy. It almost has this roaring 20s vibe. It was very chill and the food was amazing. Highly suggest.

Seated on upstairs patio. Ordered Brussel sprouts and Korean BBQ short rib appetizers. Brussels appetizer consisted of a total of 3 sprouts cut in half, which were very undercooked!. $13 for 3 underwhelming sprouts is not what I call value for money. The Korean BBQ lettuce wraps consisted of limp lettuce leaves, 2 spoonfuls of meat and a spoonful of coleslaw. Lettuce too tired to ‘wrap’ and meat was tepid and flavorless. We observed two tables send their entrees back and another couple left without ordering. We decided to cut our losses after the ‘Unappetizers’ and left also. So disappointing

Reservation for 5:45. Apps came at 6:15...they were delicious. Dinner didn't come for another 25 minutes, and when it did, it was cold. I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel...but it was chicken tenders way over cooked, no seasoning, with dabs of gravy. It was supposed to come with German potato salad, but it didn't. It came instead with (cold) fingerlings. My wife had the fish and chips, and the fish wasn't fried, it was oven cooked, and, wait for it...cold. This used to be an awesome place, but it was really off last night. Our server was wonderful, and the manager didn't charge for the dinners, AND they sent us out into the otherwise nice evening with a free glass of wine...so they did all they could. Miss the old Fitzroy.

Fitzroy was a place we have been looking to try since we love Collins Quarters their sister store. The food was not great and the unfortunately the service experience we had was sub par.

Rosie was absolutely amazing!!! She had great energy and excellent recommendations! We loved the Brussels sprouts, lettuce wraps and roasted chicken! Cant wait to go back!!

Really bad experience. Seated at a table in the middle row. Fe,t like we were in a heavily trafficked area because a service persons clothing continually brushed me as she frequently passed us in her job. Food: My house salad was not good. Peaches were sour. Chicken skins had no taste. Both of us had chicken snitzel. Overcooked! Very dry. Potato salad had very dry fingerlings that were over cooked. I told waitress. No helpful response. Also— no desserts that night! Avoid this place.

Atmosphere was outstanding. Table was ready right when we arrived. Highly recommend the mushroom bolognese and tequila old fashioned. Couple of misses on the food (melon sunflower salad wasn’t too flavorful and the fried rice was very oily) but completely understand that they’re getting back after a rough year so would give it another try. Good for a fun friends night out.

The menu sounded good but the food was ok. The salads were good but the main courses had too much salt. It seemed like they were thrown together.and cooked too fast. The kitchen was behind so we had to wait for our main courses. It was so loud that we could barely talk to each other. We had our 8 year old daughter with us and we felt like we were in a bar. I know restaurants with bars can be noisy sometimes but it wS too loud and drunk people were swearing. The waiter was very nice and working hard. We will not be going back.

We had reservations for a Saturday night for four. It started going off the rails when one drink order came back wrong - our server was trying to do it all from memory. Then it took a good 15 minutes to get the correct drink. The appetizers came at the same time as dinner for some reason and the fries were cold and the entrees just so-so. We tried to salvage the night with another round of drinks but after waiting another 15 minutes we just canceled the drinks and grabbed the check and chalked it up to a lesson learned.

Beautiful stylish place, dinning room, bar and roof top. Our meal was in the dinning room as we felt it would be too chilly on the roof top. It’s a small menu, small plates and entrees, food is delicious, serve excellent. Alison our sever made sure we had everything we needed, explained the food and drink options, so we made the best choice for us
We will be returning, hopefully we can be on the roof top weather permitting.
