We had a reservation but chose to sit at the bar. We had good cocktails and enjoyed the atmosphere. We had lettuce wraps with short ribs for an appetizer that were delicious. I ordered North Carolina fluke and sautéed potatoes, their version of “fish and chips”. My partner ordered chicken schnitzel with the potatoes. We were enjoying ourselves at the bar when we realized almost an hour had gone by and we didn’t have our food!
The bartender was a bit shocked and realized she had dropped the ball...but apparently, so did the kitchen. We asked her to just bring us the chicken and we would share it. Shortly afterwards, the manager delivered both meals with apologies. The schnitzel was good, the fish was excellent. The bartender poured me another glass of wine on the house. And they brought us complimentary dessert.
Four stars here Bc the manager comped both our dinners and again apologized profusely. They did a very good job of “recovery”.
The owner now has 5 restaurants, and unfortunately, this is what sometimes happens when their attention is needed in too many locations. We wish them well and look forward to reading future reviews to see how they’re doing.
Great waitress, fun environment, excellent food with unique combinations...loved it! Will definitely return!
Amazing outdoor seating. Food was phenomenal.
The cheeseburger and fries were really good. The Hot Girl Summer drink was AMAZING! I’m not usually one to go for gin or soda in a drink but I’m so glad I tried it! We sat outside on the rooftop. Loved the atmosphere of the entire restaurant!
Delicious! Jerk wings and chicken schnitzel are a must! Very cool aesthetic inside.
Delicious dinner and fun environment. Would love to go again. Did not feel touristy whatsoever.
This was one of our first outings after becoming fully vaccinated. Wonderfully kind staff and very generous food portions backed by an amazing menu with flavorful dishes. I highly recommend the Brussels sprouts!
Waitress was very attentive. Food was delicious!
Our first night in Savannah started with a lovely dinner on the rooftop at The Fitzroy. Our server was terrific as was out food. We’d definitely return. Because we wanted to sit outside and the couple at our table wouldn’t leave, we had a bit of a wait. The hostess and manager were very apologetic and kept checking in with us, which we appreciated. We’d definitely return.
Eclectic menu mixes Asian-Italian-Southern
entrees and appetizers. Casual atmosphere with upscale touches.
Good portions and well-prepared food. Servers were engaging and efficient.
Very enjoyable. Soft shell crabs were a special and were outstanding.
Service was not quite as sharp as usual. Had to ask for silverware at beginning of meal. Had to ask for appetizer plates. Had to ask again after they removed silverware with appetizers.
Drink order took FOREVER and didn’t come to table until we were done with meal. They DID comp the drink after asked about it.
Overall, a great meal and drinks. Beautiful space and we sat on roof which is our favorite place.
Food was delicious. Service could use work. Servers need more menu training. Team waiting wasn’t working for them. The food was so good I would go again.
Food quality was good but the presentation was quirky - chicken schnitzel in a bowl??
The wine selection is poor, and pricey. Four reds and two were Spanish and nondescript.
Food was great. Creative dishes, well presented. Service was friendly and personal.
Waiter was sub par. Pork entree was overcooked and dry
Unfortunately the food I ordered had to be the worst tasting dinner ever. I left a msg with the establishment to get rid of this particular dish. Fish & Chips. Even the salad I had really was tasteless and boring. This has never happend to me B4. They even deducted 1/2 the price but I still paid close to $50.00 and I was alone. So not sure what to say about this resteraunt. Was thourghly disappointed.
Small portions, but good flavors.
We really enjoyed our meal! We went on a Sunday night so it wasn’t as busy as previous reviewers mentioned and we didn’t have any issue waiting for our table or food/drinks. Our waitress was very personable and made us feel welcome. The Brussels sprout small plate was a great appetizer for the table, we each tried a different item on the menu and they were all delicious so you really can’t go wrong!
All great, pretty inside !! The waitress wouldn’t serve my 61 year old husband because he didn’t have his license!! A bit frustrating for him!!! Overall - nice place !!
Small table for a “shared plate” experience. Service was inconsistent.
Would love to rate 7 but only goes up to 5! Beyond awesome. Smh. Food..excellent. Service..wonderful. Drinks..exceptional. Very impressed with ambiance of candles and fresh flowers..music was nice also...a true hole in wall. Beyond impressed! Looking forward to next time!! Thank you--also love the pay a table feature. Very convenient and quick!
The Fitzroy was the best restaurant I visited in Savannah. The food was excellent and well seasoned. The ambiance of the restaurant overall was great. I would definitely go again. I enjoyed my birthday there.
Cocktails were perfectly balanced and just on the right side of inventive without overreaching. Food was sublime. Would return in a heartbeat.
Fitzroy was definitely one of our best meals in Savannah.
Delicious vegan options. The music was a little loud, but overall a great experience.
We were seated on the roof terrace and it was a gorgeous spot to enjoy the warm evening. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. The fish and chips were really unique, the seared not battered fish was exceptional. We would definitely come back!
We were happy to make the reservation and find out we could sit on their rooftop! Quiet dining as the space is not that large. Service was prompt and we were more surprised how delicious the food was. Simple, yet done well and satisfying. We were happy to see that The Deck on Tybee was affiliated as well. We give it 2 thumbs up and 5 stars!
Very dark, motor like a bar than restaurant. Mixed menu choices.from thai food to cheeseburgers. Food did not come out hot and seemed like poor quality ingredients. I had a chicken dish that was more like breaded nuggets and wedge potted than the description. Waitress seemed ditzy and unaware of specialty drinks and menu choices. Food was decent but would not return, Savannah has way better choices!
Perfect weather on the rooftop! Great atmosphere. Food was inventive and delicious. I was a solo diner and I can always tell the level of service at a restaurant by how they treat solo diners. It’s not uncommon for restaurants to give solo diners inferior seating and be less attentive. Which is ridiculous. It’s not uncommon for me to treat myself with a starter, several cocktails and even dessert and typically tip higher than normal when I’m dining solo. This however was not the case. The service was great and I had made reservations and had a perfect table. I would highly recommend the Fitzroy! I will be back next time in Savannah.
Service was extremely poor, for Easter, we had a party of 4, my daughter, her fiancee and my wife (age 52) was refused wine or cocktails. She produced multiple digital IDs, she left her purse with driver’s license at out hotel. Server was so inexperienced that quality of food was overshadowed by incompetence throughout the dinning experience.
The chicken schnitzel was so dry we sent the food back (never done that before). Manager was very apologetic and made sure the second batch was much better (but unfortunately even though it was much better, still quite dry and lacking). It was Easter Sunday and maybe that had a lot to do with it since we read many reviews raving about that particular dish.
Asked about allergens and no one ever gave us the information needed. Food did not look like the pictures online, cooked inconsistently, bland. Not a good food experience
Nice server but flaky. Kept forgetting things. Maybe she had a hangover from the night before. Food plated in an overly affected way. I’m all for artful plating but sliding the entire meal to the far 1/3 side of a plate only makes sense in a fine dining gastronomic setting. The food was good but the unforgivable mistake was boiling beautiful ribbons of pasta to death. They broke apart on every bite. Too slippery to retain any of the mushroom ragu, a complete misnomer since it tasted like canned tomatoes with mushroom chopped in. But those are the complains. The Brussels sprouts were toasted and spicy and the melon cheese ham dish was lovely.
Low key with a small but interesting menu. Very compact wine list with low priced but serviceable wines.
We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. We happened to go on the first night of the new kitchen staff and they were welcoming of feedback. The food was wonderful but we did have some minor comments (burger bun soggy, no sauce on schnitzel) but once those were corrected it was great. Really bummed they didn’t have dessert when we went.
My new go-to restaurant in downtown Savannah! The new offerings are phenomenal!
We loved the ambience and my short rib was delicious!
Service & food were good - nothing memorable. Seating placement could have been better given the early seating time and percentage of capacity. We were sat in a high traffic area when more private options for 2 were readily available. All in all, I would return.
