Styled after many popular pubs in Melbourne Australia, The Fitzroy is conveniently located in the historic district in Downtown Savannah. Occupying one of Savannah's most beautiful historic buildings The Fitz offers a diverse Gastropub menu.
First timers, came in from NC for the St Patrick’s pre Apocalypse weekend. Hands down the nicest and thoroughly impressive establishment from the decor, ambiance, staff, food options and drink menu....perfection. We added this place to our Brag list and Musts for our next visit to Savannah.
Great spot. This was my sec time eating here and the food and service was great. Even though the is was st. Patty weekend it was still a great experience.
Another fantastic date night with my husband. Service was amazing and the food was delicious. We got the steak and friend chicken dishes. The steak was cooked the perfect medium and the accompanying mashed potatoes and onions complimented nicely. The chicken had a slaw and white BBQ sauce that all paired insanely well. The BBQ was both creamy and vinegary...delicious on the chicken and slaw...we even dipped the side of fries in it.
We had both wine and cocktails and there were certainly no complaints there. Will definitely be back.
We visited the restaurant based on the on line menu, however they had updated the menu in restaurant and not on line. The vegetarian selections went away.
Hi Joseph, We are sorry to hear that you weren’t thrilled with you last visit to The Fitzroy. We had JUST updated our menu ( you were one of the very first to try it) and had not yet uploaded it on line. All of our sides and many of our starters are vegetarian but we always appreciate the feedback of our guests especially our vegetarian friends and will take in on board. We hope to see you again soon!
Great food and service, as always!
The Fitzroy is a cute spot with neat decor. The service was pretty slow when it came to ordering drinks from the bar, it took about 10-15 minutes to get our drinks to our table. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with fries. The fries seemed stale and were not hot or even warm. My husband ordered the chicken biscuit and he said it was very delicious. The drinks were good too. Overall it was an okay experience.
We had a wonderful meal at The Fitzroy. First of all Liz was a wonderful server. She made wonderful recommendations, was engaging, and made for a very pleasant evening. We had the artichoke soup which was fantastic and very interesting. We also enjoyed the tempura fried vegetables and a delicious dipping sauce. As entrees we had scallops, trout, and chicken schnitzel. All were thoroughly enjoyed. The scallops were sweet and served with several forms of cauliflower. I would not call the chicken a schnitzel but it was delicious. It was a brioche breaded chicken breast...very well prepared and with two sauces. The trout also received great comments. You will not be disappointed at The Fitzroy.
Everything thing was amazing except both me and my husbands main dish was a little too seasoned.
This was our first trip to the Fitzroy. While the food was good (not great) the service was awful. The Fitzroy is a small restaurant, it took us three hours to complete our dinner. We arrived at 7pm and left at 10pm. That is unacceptable.
Very good food.
First time dining at this restaurant. Great experience, great food, great service. It's nice to have this option in Savannah. Highly recommend. Will definitely go back.
Terrific find. Staff very friendly and our waitress was excellent. Food was unique and delicious.
Dinner/drinks bartender Josh was amazing, brunch-server Tara has the sweetest disposition ever!!! Will 100% be back!
Food was fantastic. Wonderful selection of unique drinks. Waiter was very attentive and helpful. I will absolutely be back next time I’m in town!
Our wait staff was simply the best! Personable and attentive. Food was delicious and the chef was able to accommodate my food sensitivities. Thank you for a special lovely evening out with my sister!
Interesting and good food - great vibe and great cocktails. The atmosphere was lovely -
Each of the four of us had different entrees, and all were perfect. We had charred octopus for a starter, and it was excellent. We also had pork belly, and the skin was overly chewy, but the taste was fantastic. We shared both desserts available, and they were quite enjoyable. The wine, cocktail, and beer selections are great.
We dined here on this particular night as it was a fundraiser for Australian Wild fire relief. (The Fitzroy and it's sister restaurant, the Collins Quarter, are owned by an Australian company). I was so happy we went, the restaurant was filled (even the outdoor patio seating - on a January night!) and there was a festive feel, for doing good and having fun. The '36-Hour Pork' entree was wonder, a substantial piece of meat, tender and flavorful, but the short rib was the hit of the night, so tender and rich. As for sides, the BBQ lentils were just as advertised, so simple that it's a surprise it hasn't been thought of before, and the potatoes with root vegetables served with the short rib were enriched by the beef juices. A very nice meal, for a good cause. Bravo Fitzroy!
Our server was great! The restaurant was quite dark and we had to use our flash lights on our cell phones to see the menu, lol. Although the food was very good, it was quite expensive. I made the choice to go specifically for the Australian Relief efforts so I wasn't too upset about it.
The Aussie burger was amazing!! Our server Tara was the best, and we were happy to be a part of the Australian fires benefit. The only thing I would suggest is better lighting. 😊
For Australian wildfires. Great!!
As usual, everything was perfect. Loved the winter menu! So good!!!! Also the special drink tonight was on point
Overall good but the scallops where gritty.
Unfortunately it’s hard to judge The Fitzroy fairly based on tonight’s outing. Long delays made it difficult to order and food/drinks to arrive in a timely manner. That said, I
My husband and I are local and were entertaining my aunt and uncle who were in town for the holidays. We had been to The Fitzroy for Brunch and had a wonderful experience and somehow dinner was BETTER! Our server was fantastic and went above and beyond to recommend a delicious hot sauce for my husband to eat with his mushroom ramen. My halibut was cooked perfectly and the cheese board was so enjoyable that we boxed what we didnt eat to take home with us for a makeshift dessert. We definitely will be recommending The Fitzroy to our local friends and visiting loved ones.
Kitchen was off, orders were mixed up, burgers over done - it has the potential to be lovely if the kitchen lives up to its promise
We had a great meal. Staff was very nice and the food was delicious. Highly recommend.
Spent a very enjoyable Christmas Eve here. Food and service was terrific. We will be back.
The ambiance was wonderful, the food tasty, but the best part of the experience was our server, Kari! She was so attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Will surely be returning.
With a dark and romantic mood was our inviting table for two.
If you like Cabernet, this is a must!!!
Started with a delicious seared octopus. Excellent.
One of us ordered the salmon and one of us ordered the short rib. They missed getting a perfect score here as these entrees were served Luke warm; albeit delicious.
I would dine here again.
Amazing. Great vibe. Epic food
Food was excellent, server was friendly and knowledgeable, the wine list was short and very plain, nothing to match the quality of food. We would have kept going on food if not for the thump, thump music. I might be older and not like the headache is causes (everyone else was in their 20's) but I spend a lot of money in restaurants and don't understand the use of this type of music.
Service was overall really good and the service was great. Our appetizer and drinks were great but I ordered the steak and frites and the fries were overwhelmingly salty. I would still recommend, but watch the salt!
We ate here for Thanksgiving and it was absolutely delicious. The turkey was scrumptious, as were the sides. It was a set menu and our extremely fussy 8 year old wouldn’t eat a thing on it. We were super grateful to the staff who arranged for something he would eat (we knew going in that he’s a tricky customer and were planning on finding something for him later - on Thanksgiving this was going to be difficult).
My first time at the Fitzroy. Attended for their Thanksgiving dinner. Food flavor and overall quality was good. Nice, modern decor. Not a large restaurant. Service was friendly and nice. Noise level was little or none.
My only issue was that I had a turkey bone (neck or spine), about 1” in size, in my turkey dish. It was a full vertebrae. While I was not upset, I do feel that someone could have said “sorry” when I pointed it out. Better yet, I would expect a manager to come out to acknowledge their mistake. They were not busy at the time.
Other than that, all good.
We had a great meal. We're coming back with family!
We were fans of Collins Quarter and decided to try Fitzroy for Thanksgiving. The prefixe menu was wonderful and huge portions. I will definitely be back for a non-holiday meal! My in-laws who rarely venture downtown or try new places were impressed as well.
We had an excellent Thanksgiving meal! The staff was friendly and the food was excellent.
We have eaten at Fitzroy three time and have enjoyed our meals, but think their brunch is the best! Our party of 4 each ordered something different and each dish was fantastic. Fun signature cocktails at brunch as well. Highly recommend making a reservation
The food here is SO good!!! We had brunch and all four of us ordered something different from the menu and were equally pleased. I highly recommend the chicken biscuit, add an egg. The bloody Mary’s were also top notch. I loved the ambiance, and our waitress was funny and very friendly.
