Styled after many popular pubs in Melbourne Australia, The Fitzroy is conveniently located in The historic district in Downtown Savannah. Occupying one of Savannahs most beautiful historic buildings The Fitz offers a diverse Gastropub menu.
We had brunch at the Fitzroy on Saturday at 10:45. It was quiet but started to fill up quickly. It has a very good atmosphere and our food was great. My husband had eggs and bacon and I had the bacon egg and cheese roll. It was a big sandwich but very good.
We were in the area for a girls trip and we were seated in a room to ourselves which was so nice and unexpected. Food was delish and loved the style of the place.
There is a limited menu for entree, but the quality is quite good and the flavors are excellent. The drinks are a bit pricey, but it really is intended to specialize as a fine bar. Service is very good and, because it hasn't really caught on, it's a place you can get in. Great location. Really nice interior. Not the tops of the top, but almost a 5-star restaurant. We've been a couple times with groups of folks and no one was displeased.
Food was very good and the service was exceptional.
Loved it there... great atmosphere. Dinner was perfect... loved the app with the chips! Nice twist on ‘nachos’!
Absolute must! There are so many places to eat in Savannah and I think this gem can be often overlooked. Last night three of us each ordered something different and I tried them all. The surf and turf was incredible, juicy and tasty but yet it seemed light. Just the right amount of seasoning. Same with the ribs and shrimp roll. I have been there before and had the burger - my usual favorite - but I am so happy to have branched out and tried something new! The atmosphere is lively, although we were sat in a small room upstairs. It wasn't uncomfortable or awkward like some side rooms can be, we felt we had our own private dining room... Our waiter was so personable, polite and attentive - the staff in general has always been awesome.
This is one of those places in Savannah that you walk in and immediately feel comfortable; the hostess, the service, the food, and the space all work together. My wife and I stopped in for dinner between shows at the Savannah Music Festival and were seated on the rooftop patio. It’s not a patio with a view of the river, in fact there’s no view of anything other than buildings, but it feels like an oasis - plants, music, and strung white party lights. Normally I eat one of their burgers, but went for the potato chip nachos as a quick bite and really enjoyed them. My wife loves their chicken schnitzel, but was looking for a smaller plate and ordered the spicy tofu and papaya salad - said she could eat it all summer long. Excellent and innovative cocktail menu and good local beer selection. Go and enjoy!
We had an early (pre-Savannah Music Festival) dinner. It was a beautiful day so we were able to sit outside on their upstairs terrace. There were 4 of us - we all had something different and they were all good - beet salad, charcuterie platter, homemade pork skins, burger, chicken schnitzel, and cocktails. We all were quite satisfied with our choices. We also had great, friendly, non-pushy service.
The best brunch in Savannah. Period. Sit on the rooftop patio for an extra special treat.
The atmosphere was lovely, the turquoise leather seating was so soft & cozy. The food was delicious and the servers were very attentive & polite. They were very concerned that I loved my special cocktail & made me a different one when the first wasn’t my favorite. So sweet! And the second one was delicious. I would return often if I lived here.
Great gem!!! Our server Tara was amazing!!!! We will be back.
OMG, that "roll" egg sandwich was the bomb, as was the citrus guac.
Service wasn’t the best. Slow and not the most attentive, but the food makes up for it! Excellent!
Lively place to meet up with friends, casual, relaxed and inviting. Food was tasty and enough to have something for everyone. Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive or making us feel rushed.
Our server Sean was extremely attentive and wonderful! He recommended delicious entrees and even better desserts. Definitely made the night better. The food was delicious as always and the manager, Josh made sure to check up and make sure things were going well.
Our server was quite good -- made several excellent recommendations and answered all of our questions quickly and easily. Drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. The entrees were absolutely wonderful! Lovely atmosphere with comfortable seating, which is always appreciated.
Really enjoyed our first time here-we’ll definitely be back-
My husband and I stopped here for dinner before going to a concert. The restaurant has a really cool vibe to it. We had a reservation but it appeared we didn't need one as the restaurant was not at full capacity. Our server was nice and gave us plenty of time to decide on what we wanted to order...a little too much time occasionally. The one thing that I was not pleased with was that my drink cost $2 less than my meal and was definitely not worth what I paid for it. Overall a decent place to try at least once.
The Fitzroy was ok. The restaurant overall was attractive. The food was average. Our server had more tables than other servers and the service was slow because of it. We waited for our drinks, our food and our check. It wasn't that loud but it also wasn't that busy. I might try it again but I would not take my spouse.
We had a wonderful dinner and drinks at the Fitzroy. The dishes were unique and delicious. It was a bit dark in there and quite noisy, but not impossible to have a conversation. Our waitress was very knowledgeable but they seemed a bit understaffed.
A bit disappointing. The wait staff and atmosphere were nice. Burgers very good. Chicken not good at all and the short rib, while tasty, was so fatty I felt ill after a few bites. Doubtful we’ll go back. Plus very limited selection of wines by the glass. And VERY noisy.
Great hamburger (beef and shortribs) and appetizer (leek and Jack croquettes). Wonderful service. Great evening
Great atmosphere, menu, food, service and cocktails. Perfect spot with tons of character & excellent food.
great dinner - food was great and the location we the best
Not at all like Collins Quarter. Don’t think I would return for dinner.
The atmosphere inside is good, but very loud. We found ourselves yelling across the table at times. The drinks were good, but expensive. They were inline with the area however. The food was great and portion sizes were acceptable. The service was very slow. Fiber for 8 took around 1.5 hours. When we were trying to leave, we waited about 20 minutes for our check. This was very irritating as it was getting late.
The Fitzroy was an amazing dining experience. The food was wonderful and so were the cocktails. Our server was attentive and did a great job. I would definitely go back!
Good food. But very noisy drinking crowd. Not a place fir quiet conversation
Our experience was nothing less than excellent—we were greeted at the door with a smile by the hostess & I let her know that we had reservations and were running a few minutes behind. I requested seating outside on the roof and we were seated on the spot with a gorgeous view. Everything was clean, the aesthetic was perfect for our bachelorette party and brunch pictures. Our server Kat was extremely friendly—she offered recommendations, engaged in friendly conversation with our group, & accommodated to us taking pictures throughout our experience. The manager that I spoke with thanked us for coming in & offered suggestions nearby. Overall, the food and drinks were EXCELLENT. I’m telling everyone I know to stop by the Fitzroy if they venture to Savannah. Thank you all for your kindness & hospitality..It was a perfect end to our bachelorette party weekend.
We had a delicious dinner on Saturday night, with something for everyone. Steak Frites cooked perfectly with a delicious side of succotash. An excellent filet of local fish and yummy roasted potatoes. And supremely scrumptious curry tofu and Asian style veggies. The waitress was absolutely charming and so helpful.
The bar and downstairs room is very cool, with a warm atmosphere. What could be better? We can't wait to return!
We very much enjoyed our dinner. We have reservations for a week but we’re to be seated directed in front of the door (and it was chilly, too). When we asked for an inside table, we were told we would have to wait. The hostess was not happy with our request. We did get a seat about 20-25 minutes after our initial reservation time. The wait staff and the food were excellent, though. A great meal. Best inSavannah thus far.
Rachel the bartender extraordinaire was truly on her game with great suggestions
The food and drinks were absolutely amazing. It was the perfect brunch spot.
The food we ordered was fabulous! There were four of us and we all tasted each dinner. I ordered pavlova for dessert - so decadent! I was ready to plan my next visit before I left!
Disappointed! Service was average at best. Surprisingly, the hard and crunchy undercooked rice wasn’t the worst part of dinner.
excellent in every way! personable staff, terrific food and the setting has such a cool vibe! one of my favorites in Savannah!
Always go when in town and food never disappoints and staff is superb!
Signed up on Open Table for Valentine's dinner. Liked the place, food and atmosphere, the real problem was the bar. It was not very busy for Valentine's. Most of the tables were full, but no one at the bar. I ordered a local craft beer and my wife ordered a martini. The beer took 5 minutes to get to the table and was poured in a small glass, the type you put high volume alcohol in like ports or lambics, probably holds about 10 ozs, not sure why other than to save money that it would not be in a traditional glass and why it would be $6 and a short pour. The martini took 20 minutes and arrived shortly before our food. I ordered another short beer and it took about 10 minutes. For a place built around a bar in a city that loves its alcohol this was disappointing.
Good food, a little expensive for what you get. Chairs extremely uncomfortable, but bench seats are cushy. Nice ambiance, menu eclectic and unique.
Valentine’s Day dinner. Great food, fine service and wonderful setting. We’ll be back!
