Absolutely amazing. The food was incredible. I come to Charleston every year and this was by far our best meal in the city. Going back again tonight! I highly recommend the oysters stew
Came for Restaurant Week and got a great deal on delicious food. Great service and ambiance.
We had a fantastic meal at the Establishment. Our server was very attentive and potent with our party. The cocktails were very creative and delicious (highly recommend Sweet Lil Nelly when it’s on the menu). Wine list was really well done. Every dish we had was well-executed and very enjoyable. The management team touched the table several times and all were very kind and gracious. We will definitely be back.
Restaurant week is highly recommended. Great service and very friendly staff. You will not go wrong on with anything on the list.
Average quality food without innovation, did not live up to price point even on restaurant week scale. Service and presentation more formal than atmosphere = inconsistent
Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere!
we went during restaurant week but will return the value was great during restaurant week but the food rates a return visit. Great service and lovely piano music
It is restaurant week so it’s outside the norm maybe, but the service connection was not there tonight. Immediately after pouring my wine and before I had even tasted it, the server asked if I was ready to order. He asked 3 times in about 4 minutes. Finally I felt so pressured by him that I ordered my dinner. The food was fine ( a little under seasoned). Saw the server again only when he dropped the check.
So.. the bartenders were great! Next time I will eat at the bar.
Awesome. Bartender - she was amazing. Waiter - in tune to our needs, talkative but not overly so, good recommendations. Will definitely go again.
I'm not one to normally comment on one of these sites but I have to say that the food and the service at The Establishment deserves my commendation. Our Hostess, our waiter, and the management all stopped by to ensure we were having a good meal and consistently were open to chat about both the food and the overall ambience of the place. The spot is perfect for a quiet intimate dinner and they have several tables that would be perfect for groups. I'm very happy to find a place like this in Charleston and I will definitely be back again
Restaurant Week menu was superb. Every person we encountered was welcoming and attentive to our experience. Our first visit, but a great impression!
The food was amazing. We went during Restaurant Week and I had the scallops and added the vegetable plate (separate dish, but it's shareable). For the 1st course, I tried their chilled shrimp. Very tasty. The dessert selection wasn't as fulfilling...only two offers, chocolate mousse or ice cream. There were two or three ice cream flavors though so I went with cookies and cream. For a cocktail, try The Illusionist.
Went to the Establishment with a friend for Restaurant week and loved it! The food was excellent; I got the greens dish (huge portion and perfectly flavored) with the scallops dish (also great), and the cookies and cream ice cream which was THE BEST ice cream I've ever had (that's saying a lot!) My friend got the duck confit app which she thought was good but on the smaller side, the pasta with crab (O M G this was the best thing on the menu) and the mousse. All in all, a great meal! The seats looking into the kitchen seemed cool and there is live music on weekends. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion!
This was my second time at The Establishment, this time during restaurant week. The food was delicious, well prepared, tasty and beautiful to look at. The front dining room was beautiful and the noise level was good. The service was a bit slow and, although we had a reservation, we were kept waiting at the bar for our table for 20 minutes. We had to check back to remind them of our reservation or they may have left us there forever!
If they can get their service staff up to snuff, this could be one of the best restaurant in Charleston!
Our first time dining at The Establishment will not be our last. Great food, great service and wonderful atmosphere.
The staff were all very welcoming. Both my husband and I thought our meals were delicious. It was a very enjoyable evening. We will definitely be back.
The food was amazing I can say I was very happy with every dish. We ordered a few items off the taste and savor menu to share. The service was also impeccable
We visited during Restaurant Week and were presented with a host of option for appetizers and entrees for our 3-course meal. The presentation was exceptional and the flavors were abundant.
Amazing food and service. We asked which items would be recommended, the manager gave in-depth descriptions of every dish. Made it even harder to choose!
We dined at The Establishment for the first time and enjoyed it.
Excellent atmosphere and food. Our waiter, Chad, was very friendly and attentive!
I cannot sing their praises enough. The drinks were fantastic and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is lively and energetic. But what I was impressed with was how accommodating they were. The Establishment offers complimentary valet service, which is amazing in and of itself in Charleston. The service starts at 6:00. My husband and I arrived before 6:00 and were advised to park behind the restaurant and they would move our car for us when the service began. A few hours and many drinks later we decided it best not to drive home and asked about our car. The restaurant offered to move the car back to the lot behind the restaurant and said we could leave it there overnight at no cost. I don't a restaurant or any place downtown Charleston that gives away free parking. And The Establishment went out of their way to serve us so we didn't have to worry about it. For that alone, I would come back!
I loved everything about our experience. The food was phenomenal. They were able to accommodate my sister’s dietary restrictions of gluten and dairy free easily and the ambiance with the live pianist was the perfect touch! Thanks again!
In so many Charleston restaurants you have to shout across the table but not at The Establishment. There was lovely piano music in the background and although I could see conversations at all the tables, it was muffled. This is a wonderful place for a romantic dinner. We had duck and deckle as appetizer. Both were delicious. My scallop entree was phenomenal - 4 large scallops that melted in my mouth. My hubby’s swordfish was moist and perfectly seasoned. One of the few places with just the right amount of food.
Loved it. The food was so good. I got the truffle oyster bisque and the pasta with crab and leeks. Beautiful restaurant as well. Great service. Will definitely be going back
The restaurant week menu provides plenty of choices. We had beef and oysters for starters, scallops and monk fish for entrees and mousse for desert. All tasty and well prepared. The portion of monkfish can be a little bit larger but all in all, great value for $40. The servers are knowledgeable and polite. We enjoyed our evening at the Establishment
Superb service and food! Everything from cocktails to desserts were delightful and delicious!
First time here and will definitely return! Food was wonderful. Can't stop thinking about the homemade vanilla ice cream and strawberry lavender sorbet!
Wow, we ordered 3 from regular menu for restaurant week. We all enjoyed our meals. Very tasty. Service was polite and not overbearing and he spent extra time going over the entrees, nice job.. First time there, we are going back.
Food and ambiance first class
Staff ultra professional and attentive from the hostess to the Manager to the Chef and kitchen staff.
We had a great meal during restaurant week. Will definitely be back. Shrimp appetizer was a favorite.
Superb food and service in an elegant yet comfortable ambiance. Piano playing in the background, professional waitstaff welcoming as well as efficient (from keeping water glasses filled to offering wine suggestions) and fresh flowers all add to a wonderful experience climaxing with flavorful, appealing food. The monkfish wrapped in bacon entrée was sensational.
Excellent meal, service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
Unextraordinary. Food is okay. High prices, small portions. Limited menu. Chic.
Lovely dinner and well curated wine list! A real treat!
Live Piano Player!!!!
Glad to hear that they will be serving bread soon
Great first experience here at the Establishment. Everything from food presentation to service to taste was sublime. The attention to detail every at this place was top notch and their great ambiance was in harmony with the great tasting food. Highly recommend the “Pasta”. Only con about The Establishment is that bread is not served prior to the meal, which I find weird. However, the food made up for this slight initial drawback.
Our entree was more like an appetizer. Bloody Marys would not recommend.
The duck confit served over a potato pancake and with a poached egg on top was excellent and nicely presented, resembling a bird's nest. One minor complaint: the bottom of the potato pancake was a bit tough and difficult to cut through, but it was delicious nonetheless. The free bottle of champagne offered with Sunday brunch as a promotion was definitely a plus! The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service was excellent. Overall, we were very pleased with The Establishment and will likely return.
