The Elkridge Furnace Inn
Chef-owned, yard and farm to table, using lots of local sourcing, our complex dishes turn ordinary ingredients into something extraordinary. Seasonal menu and daily specials. Our historic location is part of the adventure!
We serve a fusion of New American and French Inspiration. Our executive chef was trained under the French disciplines which always come out in our stocks, sauces and presentations. Many regional and ethnic cuisines influenced by French cuisine are also reflected on our menu. Our in-House Pastry will add just the right ending to your dining experience.
We love creating special times to share with our friends. We intersect literature, history and geography as story with our food. There is always something new and creative happening. At the Elkridge Furnace Inn and Garden House, “we make Memories”.

We love the Elkridge Furnace Inn and try to go there for special events and every couple months because the experience is seasonal and always fantastic. Now with our stay-home, stay-healthy in place, we are carrying-out. The options are delicious, the price is great, and it is very convenient. We will continue to carry-out until we can dine in, again! Thank you!!
Athmosphere is excellent, with refurbished 18th century farmhouse to start. Food is awesome, with a new menu every season, lots of local food, and vegetables and spices from their own greenhouse. Always something new, always something different, food is consistently excellent. And, a great wine list.
We love to dine at Elkridge Furnace Inn. We come for brunch at least 4 times a year. It is always a pleasure to see our favorite waiter Brian who provides us with excellent service.
Great food and ambiance. Service was attentive but they were short handed, so a little slow.
Great place for a quiet dinner with a friend. No worries about whether the food or service will be good. Warm atmosphere. Bring your wallet, but it's worth it.
The Elkridge Furnace Inn is one of our favorite places for brunch . The service is exemplary and the food is absolutely fabulous. We always feel welcome and love to bring friends and family there for any occasion. I love the fact that the food is locally sourced and prepared fresh . The chef/owner is very personable as well. If you have not dined here , put it on your bucket list . We can’t wait to have dinner there soon !
Been here many times the chef is amazing the staff is perfect.
Amazing brunch!$32 may seem like alot for brunch, but the quantity and quality of the food make up for the price. It's a bit loud at times upstairs depending on the amount of people of dining. Service is good, but slow. Party of 8 arrived for 10:30 reservation, left by 1:15. Longer than anticipated.
The waiter we had was phenomenal, the drinks delicious, the appetizers were so good. Especially the pastrami smoked salmon!,,I had the veal risotto which was good but the meat was full of fat and grisle...my husband had the strip steak which was good. Dessert was very good the ice cream is fantastic the decor was pretty tired needs update....
We had a delicious quiet winter lunch by the fireplace. Haven't eaten there for a while since we are not often in that area but was better than my memories which were that it is very good.
Incredible farm to market menu with exceptional service.
The overall brunch meal was nice, but there were a few issues relating to service that prevented this from being a 5 star experience. We were not attended to after being seated for over ten minutes, and then when a water glass was not filled, it took several requests to have someone come back and fill it after 25 minutes. Drinks service from the bar was slow, however the food was excellent.
Delicious food with many options from which to choose, excellent service, lovely setting
EFI is an absolute gem. Top talent in the kitchen, astute attention to quality ingredients, fantastic front of house execution, in a spectacular historic venue to boot. We’ll be coming back for years.
Unfortunately we were there on a busy night. We waited about 30 minutes after our reservation for a table. The main courses weren't quite up to the standard of our previous visits. The desserts were good. The staff were very friendly and we still enjoyed our night.
We had just gotten married here in Dec. and came back for our Valentine’s Day dinner! This place is so special and the food to die for. The quality of ingredients is truly
Great unique food and service! Definitely coming back!
Reserved a table over a week in advance for Valentine'a Day. Walked in, were told there are no tables available. Long line of people waiting. The staff didn't budge when it came to accommodating for those of us waiting. When someone reserves a table, the restaurant should do their accounting before accepting more reservations. We left and thankfully I had a second reservation at a different restaurant just in case. The experience on Valentines Day was just embarrassing. If you're celebrating an important event, don't count on the Furnace.
Reservation was for 9:00 but did not get seated until closer to 9:45
From the delicious wine, great atmosphere, great staff, and delicious food.
I don’t want to trash the place because I know Valentine’s Day is so unpredictable for the service industry. However, I will offer our experience from the night, both good and bad, for other users. Reservation made 1mo in advance; the place is gorgeous and so historic; showed up on time at 630p; ushered to a small back room sitting area to wait for table; I was hit by the door of the waiting area by two separate waitresses who carelessly and forcefully kicked the door open; no apologies (one commented after I said WTF with, oh this door sticks); seated at 7pm; plenty of variety on the menu; asked for no anchovies on Caesar salad but there was; brought it to attention of the assistant waiter and I sat without a salad for 15 min until waitress came to check on us; we purchased a wine pairing with each course; not only did we not receive all wine pairing, but of the ones we did receive, none came out with the course it was intended to be paired with; while eating our entrees the assistant waiter tried serving us another table’s salads; we sat for 30min after our meal waiting for the waitress to get our check; had to flag her down in the hallway for the check; almost missed our babysitting hardstop; we walked out of the restaurant at 917p from at 630p reservation.
Even given all these crazy experiences, we would give them another try on a not so busy night, but I don’t think we would recommend this place on a holiday or popular date night.
Very nice ambience, perfect lighting, and our service was amazing! Also good food and great wine flight. Was disappointed that it was a very expensive pre fixe menu only, and that I couldn’t get the crab cakes that I love.
The special Valentines menu was not on their website, we were not expecting the price and lack of options, and probably wouldn’t have gone had we known.
My husband & I went for Valentines Day. The parking was far because the 1st lot was full. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The staff wasn’t very knowledgeable of the menu if you have a ?. Took awhile to get a drink. In between each serving of the special menu no one came back to ask if everything was ok or if you needed anything. When asked a ? they said I’ll be right back & never did. The meat trio meant 1 meat was purée. The portion size was a little under for $95 per person. Probably won’t return but the restaurant is beautiful because it’s so old.
The Valentine's Day prixe faire menu was phenomenal. I had a difficult time deciding on what to get, but the Cream of Chesapeake soup, Beet Salad and the Shrimp, Scallop and Lobster St. Jacques were all delicious. My husband ordered the same soup, but got the Mediterranean Salad, and the Rack of Lamb. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal. We both finished off the meal with the Dark Chocolate and Berries Creme Brulee, and we were not disappointed.
The Furnace Inn is a beautiful historic setting, the staff was friendly, service was impeccable, the food was delicious and beautifully presented.
Our meals were great !! Flavor and presentation were amazing. As the gluten free diner, I was totally amazed at how awesome gluten free dining can be. Thank you! The coffee was very strong. The chocolate sorbet was too sweet with the flavor of chocolate being overwhelming.
I have a gluten sensitivity, so sometimes my choices are limited when I go out. I have got to say, their brunch menu was expansive and the foods I got were really satisfying (even the pastries!). I was impressed. My mom also enjoyed her normally digestible foods! Will go again!
Wonderful meal, service and atmosphere! We were celebrating our son's 20th Birthday and everything was perfect. The veal was delicious, the duck and filet were cooked perfectly for my son and husband.
The prices were high for the quality and consistency of the food and service. I was disappointed.
Great food & drink. Memorable eve. Don’t judge the place by the neighborhood. It’s a remarkable restaurant.
Lovely place for brunch.
