Amazing and gracious staff.
Food and service is outstanding. Food is farm to table, cooked to perfection and service is wonderful. Prices are high and there is very little outdoor seating.
Perfect! Perfect food, service, atmosphere!!
We both had the shrimp and scallop. It was excellent but they only gave you one scallop. We would order it again. Thank you.
I was quite disappointed to pay $33 for an entrée that included three pieces of shrimp and one scallop.
Yes, the entree included mashed potatoes and broccolinii and the food was prepared well. However, the price was outrageous for the small portion.
OMG, I cant believe we haven't eaten here before. This place was amazing. Best burger I have EVER had. I even requested a side of the scallop/shrimp sauce, and didn't need it the burger was so good. Can not wait to go back again!!!
Always a wonderful meal!
Excellent food, nice ambiance and great service. A place for a intimate dinner or a nice night out.
The inn itself is charming. My wife raved about her coquille st jacques. I took the low road and had a burger…and it was fantastic! My missing star for ambience is due to the music selection — mostly jazzy instrumental with an occasional distracting vocal. If there were ever a venue crying out for classical strings, this is it.
The service was slow and our waiter only did about 20% of serving us, the rest was done by the busboy. However, we did meet Chef Dan, who was very passionate about the food and an all around great person to talk to.
My girlfriend ordered a Cesar salad with chicken added to it. When it arrived the chicken was hard, like it wasn't cooked enough. They took it back to 'fix', but what was returned was very cold, like it had just been removed from the refrigerator. We had to send it back again before it was right.
At the end of the night, my girlfriend noticed that the bill was incorrect. The steak that I ordered came with a side. The other one came with mushrooms and no side. When I pointed it out, they adjusted the check, then insisted that I had received the other steak, even though I didn't order it and there were no mushrooms on what I received.
We were very disappointed.
My experience for the Sunday brunch was totally enjoyable. The quiet ambiance of the room was a welcome change to previous dining experiences. The service was impeccable!! The crab omelet tasted bland and was too juicy, due to the tomatoes.
Yes, I would order again, requesting the tomatoes be replaced with mozzarella.
Thank you !!
Food was delicious and wait staff was very attentive. They acknowledged our wedding anniversary and made it special. Would highly recommend.
We went to celebrate our anniversary. The place looks amazing, cozy and romantic. The service was excellent from the beginning. The food was great. Fresh, tasty and well portioned. They brought us complimentary champagne glasses along with the dessert. The chef/owner came to our table to chat and wish us a happy anniversary. We really had a great evening.
We had a beautiful experience. The place is absolutely great. Staff is courteous friendly and on top of their game. The ambience was probably my favorite thing of the evening however the food was very good. The service was excellent we had Steven as a waiter and the hostess Bethany was very courteous. Chef came by our table twice to check on us and introduce himself. He was absolutely delightful. I would definitely go back and what a romantic beautiful venue.
This was a lovely experience. We were looking to have our rehearsal dinner here and the owner/chef even gave us a private tour!
Lovely experience - excellent wine selection and fantastic food.
I celebrated my birthday with dinner here along with my husband and my parents. Everything was absolutely fabulous! The food, the atmosphere, and the service were amazing and we can't wait to go back!!
Wonderful, as always. Food is fantastic, intimate atmosphere, great service.
We had an enjoyable brunch. The Quiché was baked to perfection and the huevos rancheros were delicious.
The staff couldn't have been more courteous or friendlier. Certainly felt like we were welcomed guests at someone's home.
We have dined here before so knew we were dining here for the ambiance, uniqueness and to spend an enjoyable time conversating.
The only negative was a couple next to us who seemed to want a quick meal and to go about their day which led to them complaining to management about how slow they thought the service was. Ruined the experience for us a little but that is not on the Elkridge Furnace Inn staff.
We definitely will return for brunch or dinner again.
Absolutely fantastic! Every dish we ordered was made to perfection, the service was great, and ambiance was unique and homey and fine all at once, and everyone was extremely friendly. They use local foods, particularly from their garden across the street, have space for events, and are located by the state park. Highly recommend and plan to be back soon!
Perfect experience. My wife and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary at the same place we dined on our wedding day. The 12 oz NY strip (steak du jour) with truffle butter was fantastic. "Our rare is very rare," the server advised. Which is what I like. He was true to his word and the steak was amazing. My wife had the shrimp and grits which was also excellent. We enjoyed appetizers of fried oysters and several charcuterie selections. Also had a couple cocktails. We honestly might have to consider indulging like this more frequently than every 10 years! All in all, this is fine dining so it's not inexpensive, but the value of our experience was completely commensurate with what we paid. This is also the sort of place I'd take out-of-towners if I wanted to impress them.
Very elegant, lovely setting, service and the food was great. Good place for a romantic Sunday brunch.
It was very average. I would not return.
This is a wonderful venue for those who truly enjoy fine dining in a memorable and historic atmosphere. The service was outstanding, and the complimentary Champagne to close out our dinner was a very nice and thoughtful touch.
Tables are little close, maybe some music in the background would help break up the conversations.
Elkridge Furnace Inn overs a remarkable experience. Featuring sustainable, super fresh farm to table ingredients, all prepared beautifully, and with amazing service. Love this place!
Wonderful ambiance with a little
history included. Chef was informative and clearly loves what he does. The food was delicious. Staff was unbelievably friendly and efficient.
The staff were incredibly nice, helpful and efficient. The food was amazing from start to finish.
My wife and I go here every year for our anniversary. The food is always excellent and the service is second to none.
The one disappointing factor was the food on the night I visited. The veal Scaloppini was overcooked and covered in a rather sour vegetable sauce, and the cheese used on the Caesar salad was pungent to the point of being overpowering. This was a surprise, as the service and the setting were commendable. Maybe it was an off night in the kitchen.
Great food. Everything was fresh. Would highly recommend this place
Great and attentive service with awesome and tasty food. Really appreciate the effort of the restaurant and its staff for making it a wonderful experience.
First time and it did not disappoint. Interesting and delicious food choices. Excellent service.
Food was excellent but the service and experience was even better. The perfect place for any special occasion.
Elkridge Furnance Inn was a lovely spot for a mid week dinner. The service was a little slow but the server was friendly and tried to be as attentive as possible. Over all it was a wonderful evening.
We went to Elkridge Furnace Inn for Howard County Restaurant Week on a Wednesday evening. The food was excellent, that atmosphere perfect, AND we could hear ourselves!! The one thing, which I hesitate to mention, was service was a bit slow. The Inn was hoping (on a Wednesday!?!?) and the servers were trying. In an historic venue like Elkridge Furnace Inn moving from room-to-room and from kitchen to table is a bit more challenging than in a newly custom built facility. But that is all part of its charm. The evening was wonderful and I would not hesitate to return...soon. Thank you to Chef Dan and his whole team.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner. This is always our favorite place, especially for French cuisine.
Lovely spot with an excellent brunch! Service is top notch as well.
Excellent place for a special occasion. Varied menu for Restaurant Week. Excellent cocktails and staff was great.
Food was delicious (always is). Nice to have music and seating in enclosure is nice - lighting and temperature good. Only complaint is that restaurant week menu listed creme brûlée as a dessert choice but later found out it was mocha creme brûlée- menu should indicate that because I wouldn’t have ordered from that menu if I’d known in advance. Got cheesecake instead but really didn’t want that.
