Chef-owned, yard and farm to table, using lots of local sourcing, our complex dishes turn ordinary ingredients into something extraordinary. Seasonal menu and daily specials. Our historic location is part of the adventure!

We serve a fusion of New American and French Inspiration. Our executive chef was trained under the French disciplines which always come out in our stocks, sauces and presentations. Many regional and ethnic cuisines influenced by French cuisine are also reflected on our menu. Our in-House Pastry will add just the right ending to your dining experience.

We love creating special times to share with our friends. We intersect literature, history and geography as story with our food. There is always something new and creative happening. At the Elkridge Furnace Inn and Garden House, “we make Memories”.

This is a delightful place. We had great service and loved the farm to table food. Many of the vegetables are grown there by the chef. You don’t get more local or fresh than that!!

Also, my son has food allergies and they were very accommodating.

Thank you!!

Our acre of organic gardens are an inspiration to what we do here Janet! And because we make our own food, we can accommodate different dietary needs. Thanks so much for sharing some time with us and for the review! Cheers!

We had a lovely brunch. We chose to say in the house as everyone else seemed to be eating in the air conditioned tent.

It is nice to have different options including upscale take out, too. The history and charm inside the house adds to the dining experience for sure! Cheers and hope to see you again!

I am a weekly diner and met two friends there for a weekend brunch. They had never been to EFI before and loved the food and peaceful ambiance. They immediately asked to make a dinner reservation and we are all looking forward to our next get together at the end of the month.

An excellent and peaceful culinary hideaway. A pricey restaurant should be worth every penny and The Elkridge Furnace Inn is just that. Through many struggle to afford dining out these days, I recommend your historic restaurant and my wife and I felt like we were "getting away from it all". We reflect often on the wonderful experience you provided for our 12th anniversary and will return to start a yearly tradition. Thank you!

The Elkridge Furnace Inn offers both indoor (in a beautiful colonial-era house) and outdoor seating options – the outdoor seating offered in what appears to be the establishment’s wedding-venue tent area, with two sides open to the outdoors providing views of waterfront foliage and a verdant bowling green surrounded by lush vegetation.
Every vegetable, most from the restaurant’s proprietary garden, is a delicious testament to summer, often competing with the main dish. One could call the preparation of the Crab Cakes “Continental” as a number of fresh herbs are used in their making, and not even a hint of Old Bay Seasoning could be detected – an interesting take on a local classic. The Market Salad is a delightful combination of fresh-picked salad greens, pickled beets, walnuts, goat cheese and a flavorful vinaigrette. The Seafood Crepe was masterful: the nuttiness of the buckwheat crepe lending itself well to the generous seafood medley and accompany sherry sauce, although I believe that this option was only available on the recently-ended Restaurant Week menu – perhaps the kitchen will see it fit to put this item on the regular menu. A good selection of wines and cocktails will help round out your meal.
Dessert options, though few, are thoughtful, with the Bread Pudding accompanied by a compote of local stone fruit from the restaurant’s own fruit trees the favorite sweet treat of the evening.
Service is always charming and professional: kudos to those in the industry who work under these challenging circumstances. Social distancing is professionally practiced by the restaurant’s staff. And the personal tableside welcome from the chef-owner of this enchanting establishment goes a long way in making one feel right at home.

Brunch is always a lovely experience. The coffee is excellent and the food is divine. The outdoor space is covered and the ceiling fans provide the appropriate coolness. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, this is a safe and wonderful place to unwind in the time of Covid-19.

We enjoyed sitting outside under the tent, we had rain and it was peaceful watching it come down while protected by the covering. We were seating next to the woods and had such a tranquil ambiance. I loved the menu they offered for restaurant week, my favorite was the goat cheese, butter lettuce and beet salad. I also enjoyed the delicious seafood crepe and mashed garlic potatoes. We had a wine steward visit us as we enjoyed the Shiraz we had ordered.

This is one of the restaurant that we visit when we want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city dining. The service is always very attentive. They make us feel most welcome.
They have a good wine selection and daily specialty cocktails. While their food could use a little more creativity, it's always presented well and delicious.
It's a secret gem just a few miles from home. We love it here.

Hi Deanna! We do take our guest remarks very seriously... Since covid when we were shut down and had to convert to only takeout, we chose a more "comfort food" theme for our menus. Since opening back up, we have been a little more reserved with our menu offerings than previous to this pandemic. But our gardens and local sourcing are guiding a lot of what we do. Hope you'll join us again soon...perhaps for our bourbon dinner which will be quite adventurous! 8/28-29 Cheers!

My wife commented to me that we are lucky to have this restaurant in our back yard since we live in Elkridge. We felt welcome and enjoyed strolling through the gardens after our meal.
