My wife and I, with another couple, paid $39.99 per person for Easter Brunch on 04.16.17. While the service was somewhat adequate, the quality of the offerings was extremely poor and limited for what we were paying. We half-expected custom omelets, eggs Benedict, salmon locks, a variety of breads, cheeses and meats. Instead, we got scrambled eggs, shriveled breakfast sausage, greasy bacon, roasted baby potatoes, vegetables and some fruit and salad. The carved prime rib was substandard and the ham was overcooked. Desert looked like it was bought in bulk at Costco's except for the canoli which were filled basically with a mix of sugar, flour and corn starch. When asked what beverages were being served we were told that they had endless mimosa or bloody Marys. W e opted for mimosa but it was made from concentrated orange juice with barely a note of cheap sparkling wine, plus we only found out afterwards that it was extra ($12 per person). Our bill added up to almost $140 per couple for what we could have had at a local diner for under $30 per couple. A total rip-off as far as we were concerned. Certainly not up to standards or expectations for a restaurant that hangs onto a great name for respectability but falls far short of its branding. We will never go there for a special meal again.
First time there and was very impressed. Great food that was reasonably priced and the service by Maria was excellent!! Will definitely be back.

Our first time and not impressed. I didn't expect lunch for 3 ladies to be in an area of the bar where men were playing cards right next to us. The table was far too large for 3 (half circle leather backed booth type). One of the worst Bloody Marys I ever had and very small. Atmosphere was somewhat dark and dull. Did not feel like a Florida country club at all.
Service was average and so was the food (although large portions). Waitress was very patient as we were talking quite a bit (had not seen one another for over a year) and not ready to order.
While we were still eating, though, and no one nearly finished, she asked us if we were ready for dessert! No...not ready at all....
Not a special lunch as we had hoped for. Disappointed . Might give it a second chance but in no hurry to do so when there are so many other choices for lunch .
Food was ok, maybe a little overdone. Server Jess was awesome - fast and great attitude. Disappointed that the website shows specials that they no longer have. In fact, we picked The Edison because of the daily special.

Food and service were excellent. They had a live band on a Friday night, which was good, but overly noisy and difficult to hold a conversation with someone sitting right next to you.
Valentine's Day fixed menu. They weren't all that busy but were running behind from the start and mentioned as much. Went to the bar for a drink which was nice. Once we were seated, the waiter told us of the limited fixed menu they were out of the seafood option, Brussels sprouts and asparagus. We ordered the last of the steak options and the duck. Steak was awful, over cooked and just not a high quality filet. Next came dessert, they're out of the chocolate option on Valentine's Day, not sure how they order here. You would think that most people would want that but we got blood orange cake that was mediocre. Disappointing meal for Valentine's Day, we won't be back.
It was horrible, waited a hour an a half for the food that wasn't even good. Wasted my Valentine at this place.
Made our reservation thru open table. Had no idea it was a fixed menu for Valentine's Day. Not really a problem so we got our soup which was very good. Next course was a choice of 2 salads. We each ordered a different salad but we were brought 2 of the same,,,no big deal. There was a choice of 3 entrees. We chose 2 different ones. We were brought one correctly and one incorrectly. Not ok. Sent it back and waited 27 minutes for the right entree. Ruined the point of eating together. Couldn't get water or bread. Food tasted good. We left before desert even though it was included.
Manager was very apologetic and we will remember this Valentine's Day! Well go back but hoping there is more and better wait staff.
Valentine menu was great, reasonably priced, actually a surprise. Duck was great, very tender, good sauce, could crisp it up.
Soup needed to be served hot, it was barely warm. Dessert was yummy.
Overpriced, rubber fish with rubber shrimp on top! Fennel salad was awful. Bar area felt dirty. Light fixture caked with dust. Dinner was to include a bottle of wine, yet you had your choice of only three different kinds. They were absolutely no substitutions for the meal which I can understand because it was Valentine's Day. However, this should have been advertised. Terrible experience, will never return.
Would have like to seen the booths and the floors clean, our booth had greasy finger prints and crumbs . I am always a little concerned when I see flies hanging around my food, I wonder what the kitchen looks like. The service was good. Food ok. Felt like it was frozen and cooked/plated I didn't get a sense that any of it was fresh. We paid 85.00 for two apps, two drinks, two meals, one desert and tip. Probably won't go back because of needing some updates, cleaning and food being meh. I don't mind paying higher prices for the ambiance but when a place feels like a bar but charges fine dining prices I have a harder time with the choice.
Granted it was a Friday night and the Edison was busy. However, we waited over an hour for any food to appear. We asked the waitress for bread and she even brought the manager over to approve our request. He said " l will do my best to get some bread". Really? Four of our orders were delivered while two were not. The four guests had completed their meals before the other two orders came out. We sent them back as the evening had been ruined. We complained to the Waite staff and ended up paying for our drinks. The manager never did reappear to apologize. The diners who ate said that their selections were average. Go there for drinks and bar food but forget dining.
Food was poor quality, but the service was excellent. We sat in the bar area and it was very noisy.
Had a wonderful time. Will be back soon. Staff was on top of everything all night long. Food was amazing.
Two thumbs up! This was our first time and we had the specials for the day: pork tacos - with pulled pork and cole slaw served with a warm corn salad and Italian Cheese Steak; and the pork chop dinner ... All were delicious! The calamari appetizer was as good as any Italian restaurant in the area. The crab stuffed mushrooms were very good but there were only 3 to share. We found the pricing reasonable and drinks were also very good. We will definitely go back. The bar and dining area were pleasant. The service was outstanding with with suggestions, timing and general friendliness.
Edison is more of a sports bar with really good food. Tuna shooters are very tasty and fried green tomatoes are slightly oily and have a kick. The staff is wonderful. Would recommend it for lunch. Never had dinner there but would return for a try
I chose The Edison to meet my family for dinner as we had not all been together in quite some time. I presumed it would be somewhat classy without being pretentious. What a mistake. The live music was way too loud. Even with us yelling at each other, we could not hear. Would have been nice for the band to choose "dinner time" pieces. It seems to not have good acoustics for such raucous music. We had reservations at 6:30pm and we were promptly seated. The waitress had been working there only 2 days. She was competent and friendly. The food was just "ok". I expected better.
THE EDISON NEVER FAILS TO IMPRESS. DRINKS ARE EXCELLENT . FOOD IS ALWAYS TERRIFIC. I USUALLY GET THE MEATLOAF EVEN THO THAT IS NOT EXCITING, IT IS THE BEST I EVER HAD. BUT DIDN'T REALIZE THE MEATLOAF AND POT ROAST ARE MONDAYS ONLY!! SO I GOT THE CHICKEN POT PIE AND WOW IT WAS EXCELLENT. THE PERFECT PLACE FOR COMFORT FOOD, GREAT DRINKS AND BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDINGS. THE OLD PHOTOS THRUOUT MAKE IT FEEL LIKE HOME. THE EDISON IS ALWAYS ON THE 'TO DO' LIST FOR ANY COMPANY THAT I GET. 5 STARS.
Appetizers and desserts were delicious! Entrées are not that good, especially the chicken.
Recently renovated. Overlooking Ft. Myer's Country Club golf course in the historic part of Ft. Myer's near the Ford and Edison Estates. This is a nostalgic part of Ft.Myer's and is very beautiful. I recommend anyone visiting this part of Florida to see and experience this historic area.
The Edison was a very nice place for us to go for Prom. We sat in a room with other people from different schools and it did get quite loud but that is understandable with the amount of people in there. The food was great and the service was great as well, I had never been for dinner before only for lunch and I would recommend it to others.
The environment was old school bar. Only view was the back lawn. Perhaps the banquet facilities are better. It was chosen for the location as it is easy to find if you are unfamiliar with the area. As there were few other diners we were able to stay and catch up with friends.
The pear salad was average as was the grilled chicken club. The cuban sandwich was reported to be tasty.
Next time I will try another place maybe one on the river.

Put in "Dining Room" and forgot about. Good mediocre at best.
7:00 reservation for a Saturday night with choice of the dining room or bar area. The band began at 7:00, we decided on the dining room so we could hear our conversation. Prime rib was a special and portion was ample. Waitstaff and diners were in casual attire (a large family with children in shorts having pizza). The dining room is bright and in need of renovation. When leaving we checked the bar area; lovely space with wood paneling and impressive chandelier over the bar. The dining room should be updated to reflect a similar atmosphere. Would be seated in the bar area if returning.
Food was just adequate; what was unacceptable was the time it took to get our food! We ordered a salad, a fish sandwich and a BLT, and it took over 50 minutes from ordering till the food arrived. We just drank waters, and had to ask several times for refills.
We were very disappointed they changed their French fries to ordinary and boring steak fries. Their old fries were the best in town
We tried to book a reservation for 11 and it would not let us. So we booked for 7 and 4. Turns out the restaurant was pretty empty and we actually sat across from each other. When we explained to the hostess, she just made us sit in the 2 tables. They could have very easily been put together. Not very many food selections and hardly anything for a vegetarian. Food we ordered was good.
Great location, Bar and Happy Hour very light on dinner menu. Had Chicken Pot Pie which was in a dish the size of a Tea Cup with a Puffed Pastry stuck on top.
Although the staff was very eager to please, the service was a bit slow. We ordered a fine bottle of sparkling wine but they only had an inexpensive on hand. They did find a lovely Sauvignon Blanc that we all enjoyed. We appreciated their effort. Food was good and a good value.
The food and service were very good. The menu is very basic, I was hoping for a little more variety. If you like basic, this is a great place for you. Too many TV sets, do we really need to see bad news and sports while dining? Just my thoughts. Great spot for a quick lunch, i'd return.
Very fun place with a friendly staff. Views from the Porch Bar looking over the golf course were awesome. They slowed down a bit with the recent golf course renovation and have done a great job rebounding. Brittany was great and new manager Brian was very personable. Grouper sandwich was great and the burger and steak fries were excellent. We stayed after for the band which was fun.
We decided to couple our trip to the Edison Ford Estates with a visit to this historic restaurant. Maybe we came at bad time (lunch midweek), but our service was extremely slow. After a long wait, food came out and it was fine, but unremarkable. We had family members with us so we were a bit embarrassed that we had selected this spot. We had been to The Edison a couple of years ago and thought it worth a return trip. Not this time. Doubtful that we will ever return. We ate outside on the patio facing the green of the golf course.
We arrived on-time for our reservation at the Edison. We were not greeted by a hostess, although there is a hostess stand. The bar was relatively busy. It took a while to get the attention of the bartender, and he didn't seem to understand that we had a reservation. We ordered a drink and sat down at one of the tables at the bar. We were never tended to to order food, or given a menu, so after we finished our drinks, we left. I had to rate the food in this review, but it is certainly not accurate. We never had dinner there, and the bartender/staff didn't seem to notice us. Granted, there was a rains storm right before we arrived, and golfers and out door diners probably rushed into the bar; however, we should have at least been acknowledged, as we made a reservation. I am sure that it would be a lovely location for lunch.

We choose to come here for our one year anniversary on the 30th of May. We had a great table and despite them having two big tables filled with people for graduation dinners we received our food quickly and it was cooked to perfection. The only issue we had was that when they brought us the bread and butter, which was also outstanding, we did not have any silverware and we didn't receive any silverware until our dinner was brought out to us. We also highly recommend the honey salmon and the blackened grouper, their sweet tea was also very tasty!
Over all we had a great experience and we will be returning VERY soon!
You need to update the menu the dinner menu is more like a lunch menu. some of the entrees appeared odd. The restaurant has an upscale interior but a run down appearance (duct tape on the stairs where you enter. Lots of potential but needs work in many areas. We will probably go back but for lunch. Good happy hour.
Wanting to visit a nice place with the atmosphere with girlfriends this was a perfect choice… Very good food and golf course atmosphere was a delight
It was a Nice evening to take visitors to an old country club and to sit outside. The service was okay and the food was okay but nothing spectacular.
