A nice variety of apps we had the chips, onion, crab dip. All well prepared and presented. I wasnt sure if my group of 6 would enjoy the main course but we had fish and chips (excellent) Ribs (very good) Sausage (exceptional) pork schnitzel (outstanding). Paired with some great beers and attentive service and we had a very pleasant couple of hours.
Great friendly service. Loved the fish and chips!
All four of us had the Tent Burger and truffle fries. The burgers were average and the fries were good. Drinks refreshing. The menu was small and not a representation of the menu on line. One person in our group thought the burger was undercooked. We realized the waiter never asked us how we wanted our burger cooked, but they weren’t consistently cooked the same. My husband said the meal was overpriced for the food we got. Waiter was friendly. Our best meal on this Trip was in Albany at the City Line Bar and Grill. We also had a good meal in Woodstock at Dixon Roadhouse.
Great place. Excellent burger. The menu is a bit limited but all items were good. The live music was really good but too loud. You can’t hear anything or anyone else.
Delicious! Quick. Calm.
Have eaten there repeatedly and won’t hesitate to go again.
My wife and I went on a date here recently had it was an amazing night. We went classic with the chicken sandwich and Dutch burger, but they were both amazing. The only minor thing she said was a little too much sauce was on her sandwich. The rubbed wings were DELICIOUS. Paired with the house ranch, I could have eaten them as an entree if they had it on the menu. Our server was very friendly and personable, coming by a few times making sure everything was going well, which it was. I enjoy their variety of drink options. The atmosphere was great, a little noise but well quiet enough to easily have a conversation. I highly recommend this as a place to dine to anyone and everyone. We will definitely be coming back again.
Great live music, simple food and great service
Very much enjoyed the falafel burger and the specialty cocktails, "Shade" and "Moscow Mule." Service was very attentive.
The menu has become very limited. The kitchen is slow and the service is less than satisfactory. A overall disappointing experience
A bit of a wait for food, busy Friday night. Our server Cheyenne was excellent. Food was great as always.
Food had good flavor but over price. Staff seemed confused.
A bar should really have basic red wine available by the glass. I am talking Cabernet, merlot, Pino Noir, something. I mean really, only thing available was cotes du Rhone or a Zinfandel ? And then when someone In The party ordered Chardonnay , they were told they were out of that as well ?
The Dutch has upped their game over the past few months. Excellent food, great vibe. Go Dutch!
Food was good. Beer was great. Service was slow and not very friendly. I had really been excited to try this place but it was just meh overall. Wouldn't recommend.
Largest piece of fish ever for fish & chips dish—and delicious! They have malt vinegar if you ask, BONUS! For appetizer, make sure to try the truffle fries (and dip them). You won’t regret the melange of flavors!
Due to Covid restrictions, the Dutch Ale House has had to serve their customers in what used to be their back parking lot. However, when you are seated at your table, inside a large tent, you seem to forget all that. The music is upbeat, not-too-loud, and a reminder of happier times. The space was cool, airy, and actually elegant. Our server was very engaging, and upbeat. Overall, the experience was excellent. Despite the menu changes, the food was excellent. Keep up the great work!!! Very creative!!!
Loved it! Our waiter was incredible and food was delicious. All around great experience!
The tent outside was great. The service is amazing. Matt and Cheyenne were very attentive. They made sure we had everything we needed. Food was excellent.
The best food and service!
The menu is never the same when we come here but the preparation and flavors are always top notch.
We were there for three hours everything was late and not very good
It's a great place for draft beers and some comfort food. Liked it! Definitely try the cider that has blueberry on it. :D
The menu was small, but the food was alright. I wasn't a fan of the server. He didn't check on us while the food took forever. I also asked for my wings and a side as my entree and for some reason he insisted on the wings coming out as an appetizer.
We had the Salmon, which was blend, tasteless. Lack of vegetarian option other than salad.
Solid, upper scaled bar food. A little pricey but the final product was excellent.
Hadn't been back to Ale House in almost two years. Ate Sunday lunch inside to take advantage of great appearance of old tavern comfort (in beautiful condition), stained woodwork, booths and bar. Menu of course limited a little bit given current times, vs. last visit. Food was wonderful as was service. Cocktail menu is nicely done with varied interesting choices and of course many ales to enjoy. We were very happy to get back to the Dutch Ale House (which for now is also operating a spacious tent beer garden out back).
The menu was somewhat limited compared to previous times I was there. Other than that it's still a great place to go.
I’ll my boyfriend and I got burgers and they were delicious. Get the truffle fries or you are missing out!
Beautiful outdoor seating. Fantastic food.
The Dutch was awesome!! Bob was great and the food and drinks were delicious. It was a welcomed night out amidst the craziness!!
A terrific burger in a charming and lovely space. The only drawback was that the restaurant's online ordering system resulted in a substantial delay when it came to getting our food. The restaurant was apologetic about this and provided an extra side of fries to make up for the lengthy lag. Would eat here again.
Always a favorite when we visit Saugerties, highly recommend.
Excellent service, food and ambiance. Very loud and difficult to hear.
Always consistently good. Bleu Burger, Fish & Chips
and Shrimp & Grits shine as best loved dishes for us.
Third time visiting Saugerties and our third visit to Dutch Ale House. Food is always excellent but the attention from the staff is even better!
Went to Dutch Ale House tonight with a friend who lives. Locally. We started with drinks and the hummus appetizer. We each had the market Salad with Chicken or Salmon. Both were equally good.
Our server Victoria C was attentive, the food excellent and the overall experience great.
See you next tine!!!
We go to The Dutch Ale House near weekly. Great food, drinks, service and ambiance. A true Saugerties gem!
Horrible experience all-around. Burnt sandwich, unsalted fries, cold meat and a belligerent server...avoid this establishment at all costs.
Neat place. Interesting food choices. They do not rush you even on a weekend.
Best onion soup - good wine
Food was great, as was the service. The only downfall is we were seated in a booth next to the bar in the first room. It was a little tight for anything more than 2 people and too close to the folks sitting on the bar stools.
