   Food, service and atmosphere was excellent. Felt very welcome and attention was right level. Nothing was a problem, one of our party needed to check ingredients on an item and member of staff was very prompt and helpful. Food was excellent. Was very busy there but still a lovely atmosphere. Would go again if in the area

   delightful meal in this lovely country pub. Saturday night, very buzzy, staff friendly and attentive, steaks cooked to perfection, Malbec at just the right temperature. A very good evening , thank you

   Everything was lovely. The full English was delicious. The only thing it was so cold in the pub. We sat and ate our breakfast with our coats on. The fire was lit, but radiators off. Eventually Joe came and switched on a flat heater but that was only just before we left. It was an extremely cold day and it’s obviously an old building so we do understand and wouldn’t stop up going again obviously. Thought it was worth raising though.

   We enjoyed a really lovely Sunday lunch today. Roast beef was delicious with a generous serving of meat. My sister had mushroom and spinach risotto, which was creamy and cooked to perfection. Apple and Blackberry Crumble x2 was delicious. The service was excellent. Highly recommended and will definitely return.

   Very nice evening. Great staff. Big car park but not easy to get a space. Good food but slightly limited choice. They had been and were very busy.

   Very good, helpful and polite staff - before and during the visit. Our visit was for a family catch up. We were put in the cubby which was excellent for our group. Will definitely consider another visit.

    Nice location having walking access to woodlands for a stroll before lunch. Christmas decor set the mood for a great lunch. Each of us had a different Sunday roast lunch including the pork, beef and vegetarian, all of which where fab. If I was picky and had to change one thing, it'd be the pork crackling that didn't seem to have been part of the pork roast itself. I'd definitely go back.

    My only very minor complaint is with the beef and ale pie, where it would been nice to have pieces of beef instead of it all being "pulled", or shredded.

    We booked a table for 9 - our family was returning from a weekend away and what a great pub. Everyone enjoyed their roast - all served together, delicious food. Friendly staff - a great gastro pub.

    Sunday lunch for 4. Starters are a good size - not too large. Goats cheese croustillant special was excellent. Roasts were correctly cooked and good size. Crackling for pork was slightly wierd - looked as if it had been cooked separately not on the joint so not much colour or flavour and unusual texture. Other veg slightly on the overcooked side but that's not unusual for Sunday roasts IMO. Cauliflower cheese extra side was dry but staff dealt with it and not charged. Puds were good and not too large after the previous two courses. Good choice of wines and beers. Place was full throughout but staff kept up well. Good atmosphere. Bench seat at the rear window looking out over the car park vibrates slightly because of the large vent from the kitchen below. Initially slightly off-putting but OK after a pint. Staff happily moved other diners who raised the issue.

    We have been here on several occasions with different family members and friends. This time just my husband and I. Every time we come the service and the food is fantastic. We have booked to come with family in November. Best Sunday roast around.

    We have dined here for Sunday lunch several times over the last few months as the roast dinners are really good. The staff are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely. Would highly recommend.

    Outstanding service from an Italian guy. But the main course was almost inedible and looked unappealing - way too spicy and I like spice. The cheese selection was good. On previous visits the food has been good. Hopefully this was just a one off…please pass this to the kitchen.

We are proud of our food; we do take extra care to ensure we are sourcing top quality ingredients which can come at a slightly higher price point. We use artisan producers, ethically sourced, free range and sustainable produce where possible. Unfortunately, many of our suppliers have had to put their prices up, and as a result so have we. We regularly check our competitors and believe we are in line with them

    My first time with my family here and we came from long ways to enjoy a great lunch! But unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience. The waitress take us to our table and left us without asking us if we want any drinks and kids menu for my children! Also we waiting for 30 mins and still no one else has been with us. We was looking to the waitress to see if they came to us but their phone or smartwatch was more important. After waiting 30 to 40 mins we decided to leave and I spoke with Bar Manager to let them aware he’s feedback was sorry about that!😤🫥😡
