Amazing! Each dish was fabulous. We had the 5 course set menu and each dish was better than the last. Service impeccable. Can’t wait to go back!
Fabulous French cuisine with Persian influences that uses unusual combination of elements but married well in every dish. Highly recommended to experience reinvented homecook Persian recipes with a modern touch of French techniques.
Indulge in a cosy ambience with excellent service, fantastic multi-course dining with a wide range of wines to accompany it.
An intimate dining experience with a very small kitchen which opens right into the restaurant. We had the 5 course tasting menu with wine parings and it was all simply delicious.
A friendly, warm and cosy setting that made for an amazing end of project dinner and getting to know my teammates more personally. The food was a constant topic of conversation and we had playful fights over which dish was the winner. We concluded that every dish in our 5 course meal was a win in our hearts. Our utmost compliments to the chef and team
Beautiful evening, very intimate dining- sharing food from yesteryear with a cheffy twist.
A little overpriced for the ingredients used and the wine was very expensive.
Looking forward to go back and have told numerous friends about the place.
Truly exceptional food and experience. I am looking forward to returning
I love this restaurant! Yuma has created a relaxed yet sophisticated restaurant with expertly prepared foods and well selected wines. I’ve been twice for the Persian Sunday menu and absolutely loved it both times. I can’t wait to go back for the French menu! Thank you!
Went for “Persian Sunday”. Just what I expected - very good “homely” cooking's. Quite expensive.
Very interesting wine list - small producers, organic/biodynamic, some very “natural” wine styles.
Will certainly go back to try their normal menu, and to sample some of the more unusual wines.
What a gem of a restaurant! The food, service and atmosphere were all wonderful. FIve stars all around!
The whole experience was great. The team at the drunken butler were welcoming, invited us into the kitchen. Were attentive, explained the menu, the suppliers and cooking methods. The atmosphere was relaxed and were not rushed. I would definitely recommend this restaurant
An absolute gem of a restaurant. The head chef scours through local markets in the morning to find best and the freshest produce and then packages this into a 5 or 7 course tasting menu for the evening. He himself also attends to the tables, which is certainly a breath of fresh air and creates an atmosphere that is at the same time familiar, intimate and unique. Just like visiting an old friend that you have not seen for a long time. Package this with great food and Voila! - you have a superb restaurant experience.
Great food, nice experience, very quiet and elegant.
Blown away by the food. Please go to see this innovative take on French food in London. Just excellence on a plate. Nice spacious tables. A little walk away from humming Exmouth Market. Possibly that is why it is quiet lunch time.
If you want very high quality , limited menu experience then go now. For me this is a keeper and they deserve a following.
Go and judge for yourselves.
A simply delightful evening. The menu was perfect and even willing to swap out dishes if you have allergies or preferences. The atmosphere was casual and so comfortable. Will absolutely return
Simply a fabulous experience throughout!
chef owner/operator, rather rare these days. I am sure a huge amount of effort goes in from the team in order to create an amazing experience for the diners.
with much thanks and please keep up the good work!
Overall a fabulous night with amazing food. Highly recommended. Thank you :)
Fantastic food, relaxed environment with attentive and knowledgeable staff.
Cocina muy creativa. Gran carta de vinos. Destacamos la atención personalizada del chef. Ambiente muy convivial.
Amazing food , wine and service. Yuma is great chef and host . Felt like we were in his living room listening to his stories. It was a perfect night for our 10th wedding anniversary.
Outstanding food and really friendly warm service.
A real gem. On entering you feel that you have come into a home - the open kitchen, a Persian carpet on the floor, family photos on the kitchen wall, the toilet with a glass-fronted bookcase and memorabilia...
The chef/owner delivered a succession of delicious Persian dishes -all authentic, based on his mother's recipes, and beautifully presented - served by two staff who could not have been more helpful. The room was packed with 30 diners who contributed to the convivial atmosphere. We can't think of a more pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon and can't wait to come back.
having eaten in many Michelin star restaurants over the year, even in the UK, the food served in this restaurant is Michelin Star quality.
the open kitchen is a treat to the eye to see how well and easy the chefs are organized to serve a plate with style.
top address around Kings Cross and looking forward to having my next dinner there, who knows, many with the M Star at the front door.
well done guys, and girl !
Absolutely fabulous food. We tried the tasting menu at lunchtime and couldn't fault the food. Each dish was exquisitely presented and delicious. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
One of the best food in London. Wonderful and peaceful setting. I could eat here every day.
This is such a place that you can feel you are in your grandma’s house. Hospitality is awesome.
Came here for dinner and was impressed with the quality and presentation of the food. We had the 5 course tasting menu at £49pp. In order of ranking, our favourites were the oysters (in pistachio and in raspberry) followed by the duck (perfectly cooked), the seabass with miso, the egg with kimchi and finally the dessert. They lose me one star for the extremely small portions and the dessert (caramel with ice cream) which, compared to the other more adventurous flavour combinations, was starkly more pedestrian. The restaurant is small and can accommodate about 20 diners, with just one wait staff, 2 chefs including Yuma, the owner and one kitchen porter. Was hoping the owner would come over to chat given that there were only 4 couples occupying the restaurant when we went on a Saturday night (we compared our experience to Massimo Bottura at Osteria Francescana in Modena and Virgilio Martinez at Central in Peru who both came over to chat in a much more crowded space) but sadly no effort was made. This contrasted with the homely intimacy of the restaurant decor.
Simply put this was the best meal I’ve ever eaten.
A sensational experience! We enjoyed the full tasting menu and wine pairing which was a series of texture and flavours that evolved throughout the meal; beautifully cooked and presented, accompanied by some stunning wines that you want to but won’t have heard of! Yuma and his team produce a beautiful menu that has french and modern European influences teamed with his Persian heritage in a relaxed and very comfortable surrounding. We will be back for sure!
Good place to meet for lunch, had the set menu which was fine and interesting, friendly waiter with good wine suggestions
Perfect for any type of occasion. A bit costly. But food is just magnificent, wine is outstanding, great tasting menu. Service is very personalised. Will definitely come back.
A hidden gem
Must be tried
The French cuisine during weekdays and the Persian dishes on sundays are beautifully presented and absolutely deliscious
The personal services s attention from the owner makes your visits extra special
The Drunken Butler and the team inside have created a sophisticated home-like feel. A place where you can relax, feel cosy, reconnect and explore. Explore new flavours, new stories and new creations. I want to thank Yuma for such a personalised experience. We left feeling fulfilled in so many ways. The food in itself is a journey and I recommend everyone taking a ride.
The blind tasting menu was an amazing experience. All the dishes were great and we ended up adding the cheese board that I would also recommend.
Would love to go and do the Persian Sunday
Fantastic restaurant. We have been there three or four times in the last year. Both the Sunday and tasting menus are great and in particular the octopus and scallop dish is outstanding. If I had one minor bit of constructive feedback, some of the dishes could do with a bit more texture or crunch to go with all that flavour you get.
Wonderful food and ambiance. The tasting menu was fantastic value. The scallop and fish courses were particularly good. The chef is cooking very close to the tables and you can see the passion and attention to detail he puts in the cooking. Would definitely come again.
Unique and amazing Persian food for this Sunday feast!! Chef Yuma and his team did an amazing job of creating an authentic Persian experience.
Third time here for dinner. Each dish of the 7-course tasting menu was amazing, the wine pairing was wonderful, and the service and ambiance are lovely. Incredible bargain; about half the price of Hide with similar experience.
Outstanding menu for the Persian Sunday service. Phenomenal portions that are truly reminiscent of dining in a Persian household.
The headchef Yuma makes a point to serve and explain the dishes to the guests, giving the experience a very personal touch.
10/10 would recommend this for any occasion!
Excellent food in a casual setting with great service. Had the shorter tasting menu and was impressed by every course. Will definitely go back!
