Welcome toThe Design Museum Kitchen, we look forward to serving you.
The Kitchen on the second floor offers casual dining at its best, with a seasonal menu serving British classics alongside a selection of salads, main courses and a bakery table. Our winter menu includes Superfood salad of quinoa, charred broccoli, roasted peppers, sweet potato and grapefruit, Freedom pils-battered haddock, chips and crushed peas, or a lighter dish of honey-roast salmon, dill cream cheese, seeded bagel with crisps.
Searcys commitment to sustainability is echoed across our food and drinks menus, with a company pledge to buy the best ingredients available, working with British farmers to ensure that up to 90% of all seasonal fruit and vegetables are grown in the UK. Searcys only uses UK-reared fresh meat, flour milled in England, free-range eggs and milk from Red Tractor-certified farms. Tuna featured on their menu comes with the guarantee that it is sustainably and line and pole caught.

    Very pleased with our experience - lovely table overlooking Holland Park, very easy to chat to a friend, good choice of food and chicken escalope was particularly well cooked.

    Good place to eat if in the museum but not good enough for a special trip. Service was friendly but unprofessional. We got our first course with the mains. My husband was never asked if he wanted a second glass of wine. I let him have mine as my beer came at the same time as our aperitifs.

    Great experience. Decent food and reasonable value for money. Service a little rocky at first but improved and overall very enjoyable.

    What an amazing day to visit the museum, lots of children enjoying the fountains and the staff in the restaurant once again welcomed us so warmly. Thank you for a great lunch.

    It’s so nice here. Second floor of the Design Museum. Light and airy feel with lovely views of Holland Park. Charming welcome. Very friendly and chatty maître d’hôtel who clearly has it all under control. We felt very well taken care of. The menu is reasonably priced. If you are a member then there’s 20% off which makes it even better value. We were going to the Stanley Kubrick exhibition and decided to have lunch. I’d been before and knew the sharing mezze plater + cooked meats was great so shared it with my son. We loved it. It’s very generous and delicious with hummus, baba ganoush, avocado, falafel, halloumi, olives etc etc The chicken escalope was pronounced excellent too. Treacle tart with almond cream delicious and coffee very good too. Can’t fault it. We’ll be back.

    We ordered a sharing platter and main courses. Both arrived together. The waiter said that there was no system for serving the sharing platters before main course but a manager noticed this and fitted the situation. Our main courses are put back under the lamps in the kitchen for 20 mins or do until we had eaten the sharing platter which we greatly enjoyed. Our main courses when served were ok but would clearly have been better had they been freshly cooked. The particular waiter who served our table I think was ene Perrin day and needed more training and supervision , I would suggest. Having said that we do like the restaurant, menus and setting.

    We visited the restaurant whilst viewing the Kubrick exhibition. A great day out and a lovely restaurant. You could happily spend the whole day at the design museum and the kitchen makes a very pleasurable interlude. My children loved their chicken escalopes and there was a decent vegan choice too albeit not very creative. Decent plain fare is what to expect.

    A really good place to eat, very calm and no loud music. The staff couldn't have been nicer.

    I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and thevery reasonable prices, including wine: which is so often marked up very heavenly. Excellent service, comfortable seating, quiet and attractive venue.Highly recommended.

    From the disappointing menu options, to dropped trays, cloudy glasses, forgotten ice/lemon/water request to irritating music that the staff were not allowed to turn off! Staff very apologetic and helpful though some of the younger ones seemed very inexperienced.
