   Had a reservation at 6pm. Arrived 10 minutes early and there was a group of 4 or so hostesses at the desk. I told them I was checking in and was told that it would be a minute. No problem. 15 minutes later, we are still standing in the lobby of the restaurant and hostesses are still milling about but no one has seated us. I asked 2 different hosts for an update on our seating and was told that they had to wait for the main hostess to give them the approval to seat us. Where was she? No idea. They all had these little radios and they were trying to find her but tick tick tick and we are all still standing there waiting to be seated while half a dozen “hosts” were helpless to do anything until the queen appeared. Finally, a manager came up as we were expressing our concerns, and we were seated immediately (with his apologies and he comped our first round of drinks which was nice). I told him that the hostess situation was far from ideal and he agreed and said he would look into it. Our server Christopher was excellent and did a great job. The food was very good and we enjoyed our meal. There was a party that had reserved the rooftop and there was a lot of coming and going in the main dining area of people I guess setting up for the party - this included a woman wearing only a bikini top and gym shorts who traversed the entire room multiple times as we were eating. I was shocked that the restaurant would allow someone to do this when there is clearly a dress code and I am sure this woman could have (and should have) out on at least a coverup or used the elevator so she didn’t have to keep walking through the main dining room, where guests were trying to enjoy their dinners. If you’ve been to Cowford, you know that this restaurant is quite expensive. Possibly one of the most expensive restaurants in Jacksonville. It was completely inappropriate that this was going on in the middle of a Saturday night. The food was good but the rest of the experience was not.

   We celebrated our anniversary here and everything was top notch from the service, drinks, and food to the beautiful setting and lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

   First time eating here. We’re big tomahawk fans so chose this restaurant because of that offering. Our server was friendly and informative without being overbearing. We shared a wedge salad, the tomahawk (ordered medium), and au gratin potatoes. Finished with some amaro. The wedge and potatoes were great, but the tomahawk was a huge disappointment. Completely overcooked to well-done on one end, very rare in the middle, and cooked medium rare on the other end. Not one piece was actually medium somehow? I like medium rare and my husband likes medium to medium rare. We always order medium because on a giant bone-in tomahawk, there’s usually still medium rare all over the place. Saying this to clarify that even though we order medium we’re used to it coming medium rare and are never bothered. But this came 1/4 well-done, 1/4 rare, and 1/4 medium rare. The missing 1/4 is waste because this was not a very good quality cut and the fat was excessive. On top of the odd temps, there just wasn’t a good flavor on it. No “char”. I didn’t taste a spec of salt or pepper. Oddly, when I ran a bite thru the juices on the plate and tasted it (hoping to get some flavor), the only thing I tasted was sweetness as if it were seasoned with sugar in the process… but still no salt. Our server was great, but I was shocked at the length of time to get a round of drinks. We only had two rounds, despite being there for 2.5 hours!!! We normally would have had another round in that window of time. And don’t get me wrong, it was nice not being rushed. But we also found ourselves noticing how long it took between ordering something and receiving it. I saw the waiter going to put orders in right after we gave them, so it seems the kitchen and bar production was the issue. Overall I’m torn on if I would come back. I definitely wouldn’t get the tomahawk because I think they’re getting a low quality cut. But based on the lacking flavor, I’m not sure I would have enjoyed any of their cuts.

   I tried the American wagyu spinalis steak, but was secretly wondering in the back of my mind when we were ordering if it could possibly be worth what they were charging for it. The answer was an emphatic YES. What an amazing and perfectly prepared cut. The wine pairing recommended by our waiter was perfect, too!

   Anniversary ! The food was absolutely amazing. The service was wonderful the valet was very easy and efficient. The service was wonderful. I recommend this restaurant for every day dining and special occasions, beautiful venue.

    The food was really great. We love the choices of the sides. Staff was very professional and everyone works together very well. The owner did a wonderful job having the building reconstructed and keeping all the history with it.

    bar service was good and friendly; dinner was below average: super salty and peppered steaks, slow and disorganized, and lobster mac was $48 (just silly) … need work on restaurant fundamentals for what it seeks to offer

    4th year in a row going there. My food was good my wife got food sickness from her meal, (she’s not having a good day today). The service was lacking in compaorison to the previous years. Food came out extra slow. 10 mins waiting for an iced tea refill. 2+ hours for the whole meal experience and it was just the two of us. Everything seemed off that night. Staff was friendly as usual just slow on refills and bringing out the food. 20 mins for a Caesar salad And an ahi app, and 40 mins later our main meal came out…went to a different table first, then backtracked and came to us.

    Spinalas was way too salty. Brussels we’re soft and weren’t charred at all, Waitress was rude, the rest of the staff was great.

    We celebrated at Cowford Chophouse for my husband’s 30th birthday and it was outstanding. We started with drinks of the rooftop, my husband received a hand written birthday card and the food was outstanding! Overall great experience.

    Third or fourth visit and we'll keep going back. Service is always impeccable. Never a grain of sand in the fresh oysters -- bonus points! Wine recommendations spot-on and within our requested price-range. A problem with the doneness (?) of a steak was addressed promptly by the manager with barely a ripple -- very professionally handled and exceeded expectations. A birthday at the table was acknowledged with class, not fanfare. Pricey but worth the splurge!!

    Long wait times between courses and the steaks were undercooked. After a second round in the kitchen, one of the steaks wasn’t much different than the first time, and still undercooked. Cocktails were very good.

    We were less than impressed. Overall experience was just ok. We had to ask to be seated on the 2nd floor, despite having reservations for over 2 weeks. Lead Server left us with empty beverages multiple times. Chilean sea bass was cooked beautifully but lacked flavor. Kudos on the bone-in ribeye, my husband loved it! Sadly, it was the service for us that ruined our experience.
