Great location and good brunch spot.
Lovely lunch on the patio by the fire to enjoy a beautiful fall day!
Not a great experience. It’s very noisy and the seating is open cafeteria style. Frankly it’s not somewhere I would go back to. When they first opened it was good food in an area that needed more restaurants. Lately the menu is rather uninspired and the ambience seems to be getting worse.
One of our favorite casual dining spots
Overall loved the food it was fresh and inventive. Simple sandwiches taken up a level for sure. Was really odd though my friend ordered eggs benedict and we were told they were out of hollendais sauce (its eggs, butter and vinegar ....so easy to make, seriously?) which is bizarre for a brunch spot. We had a very nice waitress but clearly was overloaded... we waited a long time for coffee and a long time for food and then had dirty dishes sitting in front of us for at least 10 minutes while other staff just walked around and didn’t check on us at all. We had to flag down the waitress and waited another 10 minutes to pay....but then the 20% was included?? You can’t do that if you are mot staffing properly. Although the food and coffee was delicious the experience makes me think twice before i would go back there.
The staff were all lovely - kind, attentive (but not overly so), prompt. My drink was delicious - I ordered a negroni. My only disappointment there was in the size - the pour was not overly generous, shall we say. I'd never been to the Commons before so I was surprised that it was actually quite noisy inside. We had a party of 8 and it was nearly impossible to hear the conversation of people sitting 2 seats down from me. This would be a perfect place for a smaller group, and a larger one as well, if a little noise doesn't bother you.
Best fish and chips I’ve ever had; batter was light and crispy, plus the fish was very moist
I love the food, location and service at the Commons. The only flaw is how loud it gets and can be difficult to carry on a conversation with someone sitting 3' away.
Amazing food, great service, good location with a nice view
Super loud. Hard to enjoy the place. Hate that they have caved to the potato chuck trend instead of hash browns. Biscuits and gravy and latte were both amazing.
Was in for my wife’s birthday with the kids. Staff was kind enough to stage some flowers I dropped off earlier in the day. Ordered some sparkling wine. Bottle arrived and wine was at room temp. Notified the staff and they ask us what we wanted them to do about it. :( They ended up giving us some ice to put in our glasses. They did discount the bottle, but could use some work on their service recovery model. We would have preferred paying full price for a chilled bottle.
You have to sit outside in Summer. Incredible atmosphere. All-new Commons fire pit, Jenga, and other games make it a fun atmosphere. LOVE LOVE their food. Fried cod and shoestring fries with cole slaw for one of us, and deconstructed tuna noodle casserole for another. Both delicious and satisfying. Fabulous turkey with brie panini sandwich with side salad also cooked perfectly.
Terrific breakfast! Great service.
We love The Commons! Great food. The portions aren't large, but quality of food is good. The last 2 visits (both in the past week) have been disappointing. We had to wait an incredibly long time for our food. Were seated at 11:15, didn't receive our food until after noon. The waiter didn't seem to recognize how long it had been. Previous to that, ordered the avocado toast & it was missing all the yummy seasonings that come on top. Overall we like the Commons, I just wish the service was more consistent. Perhaps this is due to the automatic gratuity?
I recommend with reservations. We are there two days in a row. The portions are different each time. On Saturday the service was good. On Sunday it was horrible. I witnessed three tables asking the bus person for a check. Consistently is the key and they don’t have it.
I was excited about the food Friday night and the service was really great. So my husband and I came in today for brunch because of the experience Friday. Today was the complete opposite. The food was over cooked. All the servers were rushing to give service.
I’m in love with everything about the commons! It has such a unique atmosphere and amazing menu! Everything down to their lemonade bases and coffee flavoring are made in house and it’s noticeable! Our server (Jen I believe) was very quick and consistently checking in on how we are doing. I love this place!
Server was great! Lower rating for service because food slow from the kitchen. One egg dish a bit cold when it came out. Nice place just a bit slow getting food out.
Loved the commons! Great brunch place. Definitely make reservations!
We sat outside which normally we love, but this time there were so many dogs outside that it was not an enjoyable experience.
With family in town who enjoy wine we wanted to have breakfast at The Commons followed by wine tasting. I went to make a reservation for Sunday and found that our ideal time wasn’t available so we revised our plans and came in on Monday...just as good without the wait!!
Server was very degrading and yet they add an automatic 20% gratuity for a party of 4 for lunch?? Ridiculous!
The food is always great, but our last experience wasn’t so great. We waited 45 minutes after being seated to get our food. My shakshuka eggs were way over cooked and my friends eggs Benedict had a hair in it. The server did take off 10% and gave us a $10 gift card. I’ve always had a good experience there but this last one not so good.
My food was Luke warm, that was disappointing
A pleasant place for breakfast. The food is good, the staff friendly and the environment comfortable.
Great food, great service! We had a wonderful time with friends..we’ll definitely be returning! We sat outside and it was very pleasant
Food was great as always, just threw toast tasted slightly off lighter fluid. It may have been because it was grilled for the Shashuka.
Great food, good menu selection
Amazing food and amazing service.
Mimosas and bloody Mary’s are super yummy and the food is divine.
Wasn't bad, just mediocre - both food and service. Food prices seemed right. Wine prices a bit high. I do highly recommend the fried pickles chips. I suggest vegetables with the main dishes.
We didn’t particularly like being seated by the bathrooms......there was plenty of seating elsewhere and we had even made reservations! In hind sight we should have asked to have been moved!
Subpar service, food did not come out as requested, automatic 20% gratuity included regardless of party size and gives you no option to reduce. For ‘ok’ food and tolerable service it’s frustrating that they receive a tip regardless of how they preform. Expected much more from such a ‘popular’ restaurant.
The turkey sandwich with Brie cost $15.00 and they didn’t use real turkey nor was the cheese melted. The waitress forgot our appetizer and one of the drinks that were ordered.
It was very loud due to the poor acoustics.
Parking was a nightmare
Food was less than average. I ordered over medium eggs and the egg white was literally like water and very undercooked.
We only come here for the food. The service needs to be improved. Every time we go with our kids, we put their orders as soon as we sit but they end up bringing their food with hours 45 min later. How hard is it to make a scrambled egg. But the food is good.
Reserved a table for a birthday brunch. After being seated and ordering we waited, and waited, eventually the server realized she hadn’t put in our food. 45 minutes later our food was delivered without any sort of acknowledgement. The potatoes were overly starchy, the bacon burned. I wouldn’t return.
It was on my list from along time. Expecting it to be fancy restaurant but it was very chic place!! Not formal at all but I enjoyed it. Drinks are amazing I tried ambassadors daughter and it was so refreshing. Must try place....desserts are great too tried banana bread pudding and it was tasty.
Was expecting a “Meet the Moon” experience as they are owned by the same company and there are some menu similarities. Had the tuna melt- tasted very “fishy”, nothing like the tuna melt at “Meet the Moon”,
which is extraordinary. Would have complained, but the waiter never once checked on us, except to present the bill, and give us water- after we had paid. No problem with a 20% mandatory tip when the service is good, but our server was really poor. Will not be back to this one.
Love this place on most days however....
We made a reservation and were seated near the door with lots of commotion from people coming in an out not to mention the restaurant in general. If I go out of my way to make a reservation and say it’s to celebrate something I expect seating to be more in line with that.
Food orders were right however just warm not hot.
Service was slower than usual and drink refills not offered but once and we spent a good 1.5 hours there.
