Food was absolutely amazing. The seared duck breast was incredible and the watermelon salad is a perfect summer salad.
The Collective continues to be our favourite restaurant. The staff treat us like family (the ones they like 😊), making sure we're happy and looked after. And the food ... Well, it is truly spectacular! Thank you, Jon, Mo, Nicole, and Chef, for opening up in Cook Street Village. Glad to have you back!
Great overall will be back for sure!
Weekly visits here for the superb ambiance, wine selection and fiord/service combination makes it good value for money and an exceptional post Covid experience!
Love this place! Food, wine and service are always on point.
Good food. Good drinks. Recommend the charcuterie, it was amazing.
Absolutely scrumptious food! Great menu option for all. Really enjoyed the vegan charcuterie platter. We already want come back to try more delicious wine and food.
We had a spectacular dinner on their new patio! Tables were nestled amongst plants and greenery with ample heating, making it the perfect outdoor spot for dinner in Victoria. The ambience was perfect, the food delicious, and the service extremely friendly and accommodating. We will most certainly be back, especially for the whiskey chocolate cake!
amazing service, great selection of wines and yummy food!! 10/10
This was our first meal out after the pandemic started. We felt comfortable with the precautions taken in the restaurant. The food is modern and delicious. I love their vegan charcuterie board. Such a variety of items. Each bite can be different. My husband had the steak frites and it was done to his liking. We had the vegan flat bread and warm olives, all very good. Definitely on our list of places to frequent.
Truly fantastic charcuterie board, superb value for the money. Wine flight introduced a bunch of obscure wines that I wouldn't normally try, which is the entire point. 10/10 would recommend.
It was the second time I've been there. The potatoes were good, and the duck breast was really good. The carrots were a little firm for my liking and didn't have a lot of flavour. We shared a warm chocolate layer cake with sauce (caramel?) that was phenomenal. The service was excellent. I'll definitely go there again.
The patio was lovely! Glad they were open and managed to find a way to function during COVID. Also, there was quite a few GF options which is important for a celiac like me :)
This place is great. Nicest restaurant in cook at village by far.
This has become our new girls night spot! We were treated so kindly and can’t wait to go back, still raving about the red wine we drank that night although none of us can remember which one it was 😂
Steak was overcooked, but they fixed it and was delicious.
Good, music and service were very good.
International Woman’s Day Celebration. Great fun.
Food was good, some
Portions were smaller than expected but steak was amazing! Service was a little lacking not much attention at all.
Amazing charcuterie and good wine flights. Chairs were a little uncomfortable and dinner was slightly less impressive than the starters but overall it was very good and I would go again.
I would recommend the Collective Wine Bar and Kitchen to anyone. The menu has lots (but not too much) to choose from, and the food we ordered (mushroom starter and duck breast and tenderloin mains) was delicious and perfectly cooked. The cocktail menu is interesting. We both liked our choices: scatterbrain and wasp's nest. Our server was very helpful in picking out a wine that we would both like and would go well with our meals. We had a table by a window near the entrance, and it got a bit cold (but fresh!) whenever anyone came in, but the majority of seating is well back from the door. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
When we arrived for our reservation, they had a large party that was running late. They did everything possible to make us comfortable & ensure we enjoyed our visit, which we did. Excellent service, amazing food, and just a really, really lovely place to spend an evening. This is the third time I've been there & they've knocked it out of the park every time. I'll definitely be back & won't hesitate to recommend it to friends.
A great find!
The veggie sample board was fantastic, along with the wine
Lots of vegetarian options
Noise level was a bit higher but only due to the business of Valentine’s Day. Outstanding
The food was phenomenal! We didn’t realize when we reserved our table that there was going to be live music though and the place is a bit small for that. It got very loud with all the guests trying to speak over the music and each other.
An outstanding long overdue addition to Cook Street village, and Victoria. Wonderful staff and upper end food! Romantic ambience for couples or easy going for non-couples. We'll be back again and again.
The food, the wine, and the service were outstanding as always . Our server was amazing ! Loved the music , the atmosphere and everything in between . Looking forward to spending Valentine’s Day dinner there with our close friends .
Had New Year's reservation for 2, booked well in advance. We were squeezed into a 2 top table next to the kitchen as if there was no other space available.
Food portions were very small and the cost for a vegetarian entree was the same as the beef tenderloin meal. There were only 2 options for the fixed menu available, with no other alternatives. Very disappointing and expensive for the value.
Early new year eve dinner
I chose this restaurant because of the options for vegan fair. We were very impressed with our experience. We had two wine flights, one pre-dinner and one paired with the vegan plate; which was delicious, hosting various textures and flavours, it was beautifully presented. Our server was friendly, attentive and able to speak to the wines we were enjoying.
We only had drinks when we were in but the app doesn’t allow you to not score in every field so I gave it a four simply based on the look of others’ plates and their comments. Everything else was a clear five; we would definitely return.
We had a lovely time and the music was superb.
Absolutely loved the Jazz and would go back again because of it.
For us, the diverse wine list is what sets The Collective apart from the competition. You have a selection of Old World wines that are commendable and difficult to find as so many restaurants are now choosing local only which is a little disappointing.
As ever the food was very good and the waitress was knowledgeable and helpful.
The only negative comment really is being asked to settle the bill because our server was finishing her shift. We would have had another round of drinks but felt as though we were being encouraged to leave. It seems strange that a server could not wait a day or two to receive their tips.
A wonderful place to spend time visiting friends. Cocktails were great. Food was wonderful.
Love the service, food, and atmosphere. Server is knowledgeable to provide suggestions on food and wine pairing for my friend. Wine pairing has good selection of combos (threes) that allows taster to taste different varieties. Food is also unexpectedly flavorful and presented beautifully. My friend said she will bring her friends and family over for sure!
I ordered the duck and I'm quite certain it was pork tenderloin that I got. It didn't taste or look or smell like duck. As I was with friends I didn't want to make a scene but REALLY! I assume you ran out of duck but that's unconscionable. It would have been way better to just say that you had run out and i would have ordered something else. I expect the chef will deny it a) to keep his/her job and b) because to admit it might have consequences. I only mention it now in the hopes that this will get passed on so that it never happens again. What if I were kosher or Muslim? The Brussel sprouts were absolutely delicious!
Had a great experience at The Collective. Hadn’t been there since they first opened with the limited menu. The new menu is great and everyone in our group enjoyed our meals. Steak Frites was perfectly cooked. The scallops were also a hit. The wine list is also decent and reasonably priced. A great local treasure in the heart of Cook St Village.
This place just keeps getting better and better! Excellent food, service and drinks and wine!
We really enjoyed this place. The steak frites and scallop dinners were fantastic, and we loved the coffee panna cotta for dessert. I loved the musicians as well, and the very relaxed atmosphere they were able to create. We will definitely return.
