Not for vegetarians, small portion of cauliflower. Vegetables not included with main dishes so dorks out quite expensive
Delicious, hearty food. Perfectly located next to the Bridge Theatre.
I arranged a pre-theatre meal for myself and 6 others prior to going to the Bridge Theatre next door.
The staff were friendly and professional throughout. The food was very good. I am reliably informed by one of my company that the carpaccio starter was particularly good.
The 3 course pre-theatre menu was £24/head which was, in my opinion, good value. the total bill for 7 guests including wine and service charge was £351. Which for London is not bad.
Great spot - good food and service and chilled atmosphere
Great food and atmosphere. The staff are very attentive and help make the venue what it is. The sharing dessert platter is a must
We visited the Coal Shed in London as love both the restaurants in Brighton. The evening was fabulous but steak was a little over seasoned, very salty. They could accommodate gluten free however more options for starters would be appreciated and possibly a GF bread option.
Excellent location for pre-theatre at the Bridge next door.
I ordered the flat iron steak, the food was nothing special, I expected more for the price
I waited my main course for one hour, I don’t think they could ensure the quality of food when they are busy
Food was good, chips were good but not the best.. ordered the streak that came with braised broccoli.. order a side of broccoli without the waiter notifying us, shame. All in all ok restaurant. Cocktails were great but food and service needs to be sorted out before his becomes a must eat
Welcome and service friendly, extremely knowledgeable and attentive but not overbearing. Food was outstanding. We had the market fish (seabass that day) for 3 people; served at the table, generous portions and served with mussels, clams and chorizo. Despite the elegant setting, don't be afraid to dip into the sauce left on the platter at the end - the best bit.
Lovely touch with the dessert at the end for the birthday guest. Would recommend for any occasion.
First to eat this restaurant. Great location, great food and great service. Very friendly staff
We went for dinner here before going to The Bridge Theatre. The service was excellent - the right level of attention e.g. we never had to ask for more water. We chose the pre-theatre menu which was very tasty. Two of us had the salmon starter and all three the minute steak. The steaks were incredibly tasty - the medium-rare not quite medium-rare enough for us but still lovely. The chips were very tasty. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.
My wife and I had lunch here. The service was friendly and prompt but not hurried. The food was very good. The beer was expensive.
Excellent food and good wines, friendly and efficient service
Rib eye steaks were delicious but unfortunately my one was thinner and more well done than my husband’s which slightly spoilt the experience. Service friendly
The service was just right, quick, efficient, polite without being over the top. My fish was absolutely delicious and my friend’s even more so.
A really pleasant interior. Staff attentive. Pre-theatre menu is limited but what is,offered is good quality. The criticism is about differences in what you get, delending on your choice. Celeriac soup was generous, cured salmon not. Likewise a whole was extremely generous whereas the steak (£3supplement) was tiny...very much a minute steak. Our dining experiences were so radically different, it was bizarre.
I was made very welcome while I waited for my friend to arrive and I thought that the service was attentive and not overwhelming. A good choice was made.
Went to have a sunday sharing lunch with my son. At 4.30 they had run out. Nothing offered to say sorry. Restaurant wasn't even busy
This place is harder to find than you think. It is a new area to explore with modern views of the river.
Next to the London bridge theatre. Very nice surroundings.
Excellent food and service with good ambience. Would definitely go again.
Staff very attentive and knowledgeable. Starter of Jacobs ladder was bit too much coal but rest of the meal was well made and tasty. Good wine selection and dessert was divine.
The restaurant was not as well sign posted as it could have been from Tower Bridge Road. Staff excellent, food good but could have had slightly larger portions. Good house wine. A very pleasant pre-theatre meal in a lively but not too noisy atmosphere !
This was a real find. Good food, excellent service and close o The Bridge Theatre.
From lunch menu. Steak tartare good but egg should have been in the centre not on the side and surely could have been served with some toast or something. Mean I thought ! I pinched half of my brother's burgher bun. His burgher was good. Nice house wine.
Food was absolutely amazing, flavours were out of this world and the Sussex ale we had with it was delicious!
Fantastic Sunday sharing roast. The beef was wonderful.
Fantastic for pre theatre catch up but it's a bit of a cheek to have a three pound supplement on one of only three options on a fixed price menu ....
Great ambience and outstanding service. Seafood was very good in particular the 'surfboard'.
Called in for a pre-theatre meal and were pleasantly surprised. The set menu was good, with meat, fish and veggie choices. Portions were generous and the food tasted excellent.
The restaurant was a little quiet to begin with, but became more lively as more diners arrived.
Our only negative comment was the smell of grilling meat that stayed with us after the meal, throughout the theatre and most of the way home, impregnated in our clothing.
Chosen because had interesting menu for adults with good children's menu, grandson had very good steak and chips which he loved . [We had goat shoulder ].Children if under 7 were free if eating before 7 another reason for choosing this restaurant near Tower bridge. The male waiter gave us a Bill with charge for child but before we could say anything when paying the female waiting on, checked the bill and said no its wrong , checked how old GS was , 6 , and immediately whisked the bill away to alter and reissue the new one with no charge for the little one . So nice that she was on the ball,l but why did the guy not think about this or was he not aware of this . Not the sort of place you would feel comfortable in querying the Bill for the husband, me I would not hesitate wherever I am and was all set to do so when she spotted the error .
Really great service and an excellent option for pre-theatre with their pre-theatre deal. Will return
Lovely, friendly staff. Well cooked food. Had pre-theatre set menu - very limited but food beautifully cooked,
Good service, good food and lovely venue close to the Bridge Theatre - great for a quick bite in time to see a play.
Great service and great beef sharing Sunday lunch, highly recommend
Very good value pre theatre menu and efficient service
This was our first visit. We arrived for a pre-theatre meal, wet and miserable from a previous downpour; we were warmly welcomed and given time to recover. The starters and mains were very good indeed as was the wine, and we were pleased with the quality and service. The downside was the puddings (three different) which were fairly tasteless andI we wouldn't have again.
We will return with friends but will stay away from pudding,
We went to The Coal Shed before going to the Bridge Theatre next door. The food was excellent. The service was great--our waittress Zoe was really wonderful and funny. We had the pre-theatre menu and it was beautifully served and delicious. It was a bit noisy, but otherwise we really enjoyed it.
Excellent food and superb service. We had the pre theatre menu which was extremely good value for money. Recommended
