Wanted outdoor seat to enjoy the night, but upon arriving was told we could not sit outside due to an "incoming storm". After being seated indoors under a ceiling fan and my wife being cold and having to wear a sweater, i see other people coming in maybe 10 mins later after us being seated outdoors and heading up stairs to the 2nd level that is also outdoors (where we wanted to be seated). The waitress we had forgot the drink that my wife asked for & needed to be reminded twice to bring it. Other than the "issues" that we faced, the restaurant is very nice and the food was great.

From the very beginning, our visit was disappointing. Our server was very absent. We sat 10 mins or so before she even came to the table. We ordered drinks and apps. By the time we received our drinks- about 15-20 mins later, the ice was melted and the large ice ball was about completely melted. They must’ve been sitting at the bar for a long time. I sent my drink back and never bothered ordering another. We never received plates for our oysters, the wrong salad was brought out resulting in an even longer wait for it to be corrected. The main course finally came. The steak and sea bass were cooked fine. The potatoes were gummy, like they had been reheated many times and the dirty rice was so dry, we sent it back too. We will never return.

It’s a bustling busy place but the service is excellent as is the food. Great experience.

The Choptank was lively on a Friday night when we arrived early for our reservation, but we were seated right away. Our server was attentive. Two of us had the crab cakes, and we both pronounced them to be among the best we'd ever eaten! It is not inexpensive, but the portion sizes are generous, and the quality of the food is excellent. I will visit again the next time I'm in Annapolis.

Great restaurant right on the water in Annapolis. Great service, staff is lovely. Really liked the steamed shrimp and the steamed mussels.

Limited menu, too loud (even though the place was not crowded) and too expensive. Great location on ego alley and service. We went for dinner and had 3 appetizers between the two of us. All were very good.

Food was superb, Michelle, our server, a real pro! Place is way too loud - acoustic design problem for sure.

Our server did a FANTASTIC job!! My husband and I went Sunday for lunch to celebrate our 2 year Wedding Anniversary and everything was perfect! Thank goodness we made reservations because the restaurant was PACKED, but we were seated quickly and our server took care of us right away! He recommended a delicious cocktail drink (which is now my FAVORITE drink there) and surprised us with a delicious cheesecake for dessert!! He went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time and the food was perfect!! The ONLY thing I wished was that the restaurant turned on the air conditioning because it was really hot that day haha.
