Our waiter was very caring, really friendly and entertaining (birthday: lovely desert offered by the house, music and dancing). The food was really good, the menu has the right kind of choice: special, yet something for every taste, not too little and not too big a choice. Situated near many theatres. I would definitely recommend it.

My only regret is that I'm visiting, and it will be unlikely I can return. When I chose the restaurant, I was not expecting upscale fish and chips. My two dining companions and I shared several dishes: the cod fish & chips plate, crab mac n cheese, the salmon fish cakes, and a bowl of asian slaw. Every single dish was delicious. We shared the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I thought the price was very reasonable, but things are expensive where I'm from so I may not be a good judge. The one strange thing was the welcome. We were met at the door, before we could even enter, and asked if we had a reservation. I'm glad we did, but it was off-putting. Service from then was perfect.

Great food. What’s not to like. Simple fish and chips but with a variety of batters including panko which was really good. Crispy and non oily. The desserts were also fabulous

Absolutely delicious. service was relaxed, no pressure to rush and the waitress was charming. The fish was chunky and beautifully battered. The chips were very tasty. All in all one of the better places to get fish and chips. It is quite small - maybe 30 covers - so I’d definitely recommend booking.

My sons and I are visiting from the US and The Chipping Forecast came highly recommended from a friend (a food critic, no less) back home. They did not disappoint! We enjoyed the fish (cod) and chips and the fish pie as well as apple pie a la mode. We also had a wonderful conversation with the owners and the background music was top notch. We had such a great evening and would encourage anyone contemplating a visit to pull the trigger!
