The Chef and I
Folks can choose to order off the menu or do a chef’s tasting seven days a week.
We offer a chef’s tasting at two levels: five or seven courses; a culinary experience comprised of what’s in season and what the chefs are inspired to share with you that day.
Additionally, we offer regular menus for lunch, brunch, dinner, and happy hour. Executive Chef Chris Rains and his staff carefully curate these menus seasonally.
Counter (Show Kitchen) seating is limited and generally requires a reservation. If you desire Counter (Show Kitchen) seating, please select "counter" seating when you make your reservation.
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Any reservations cancelled within 24 hours of the reservation date/time is subject to a $20 per seat charge.

Caramelized Cauliflower with Local Whipped Goat Cheese
Pan roasted cauliflower seasoned with fresh herbs and sea salt served on grilled focaccia crostini with whipped goat cheese, pistachio pesto, candied nuts and local honey
Jumbo Sea Scallops*
A half pound of Jumbo fresh Northeastern sea scallops, pan caramelized then basted over a spiced lemon basmati and red Himalayan rice, served with a cucumber raita, toasted pistachios, green curry coconut sauce and a cherry pepper relish
Pan Roasted Crispy Duck and Waffles*
Farm raised rendered crispy skinned duck breast, basted in duck fat and cooked medium rare, sliced over duck fat infused waffles, macerated maple blackberries and sage butter
Great meal here last night, super service, nice people. They turned our Anniversary dinner into a 2-1/2 hour at our pace meal and it was so fun. Sat at the chefs counter and watched the magic happen. Our second time here and not our last. Best part was when I said spicy and the chef listened, that never happens.
Food was amazing , sitting by the exposed kitchen was such a bonus too

This is the second time I have been here and it was as good as the first. The food is fantastic and the service was excellent as well. Although it is a little pricey, it is worth it and the portions are healthy. Thankfully our waitress warned us that the salad 2 of us were ordering was big and could be shared. The salad was definitely entrée sized and could have been split by 3 people if you wanted just a side salad. The food is innovative and delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Our table of three all got the 7 course tasting meal. Our eyes were a little bigger than our stomachs (the 5 course option would have been just right), but then we would have missed out on two more amazing dishes. Everything was excellent! I had Ahi for the first time, and now I can't wait to have it again. We all had different favorites, so nothing was lacking. Service was beyond exceptional. Can't wait to go again!
By far our favorite meal while in Nashville! The entire staff including the chefs were so friendly and outgoing! The 7 course meal was amazing! We can’t wait to try the new location in Florida when it opens!
Food is fantastic! We sat at the bar area overlooking the kitchen and were able to talk with Curtis who is the chef. He did an incredible job with every dish we ordered! Would highly recommend
It was phenomenal. I can’t stop thinking about the smoked salmon belly. Everything was delicious, loved the mimosa bucket (that was a GREAT value) and the service was quicker than the first time I went which I appreciated that!
Foodies’ paradise. Apps are creative and delicious. The concept of this restaurant is to watch the chefs work on preparing meals, which is entertaining. Only negative is access. Car? No problem. Taxi? Forget it. A long walk from our hotel. But it was worth it.

For my wife’s birthday this was the meal at the end of a spectacular day. The staff here is attentive and intuitive, the food is beyond spectacular, and the atmosphere is fun as well as moderately upscale. Highly recommend a visit!

This is a Gem of a place. Interaction with the Chef’s while watching them plate each dish. Our server was outstanding and knowledgeable. Great music in the background especially if you grew up in the 70s and 80s. We hope to come back it has been one of the highlights on our honeymoon. Sorry we didn’t get to meet Chef but he’s on to something.
One of our favorite restaurants. We love to sit at the bar food prep area to talk to the staff and ask questions about what they are preparing.
The food was good and so was the service, but for the price you can find a venue in Nashville with a better overall experience.
All in, I was disappointed by the atmosphere for what their price point was. We didn't get to sit at the counter though which is probably a better experience--despite open seats and a reservation so I'm not sure how they decide.
The main dining floor was boring and really leaves you wanting more from the experience.
The food that was on the regular menu was great. The food that was on the chefs menu was awful. Not only did it have a horrible chewy texture and consistency, it made us sick the next morning. It was disappointing because we sat at the chefs table and loved interacting with the super bubbly and personable chef but even her amazing demeanor couldn’t make up for the food :(

From the outside, a little trepidation but inside is enjoyable if a bit echoey. Food was phenomenal. We had the Daily Five Course including pork belly , veal, grouper cheeks, elk, and cauliflower. The wine pairing option closed the deal. And Todd was one of the beat wait staff I have enjoyed. Knowledgeable and attentive. Great evening and highly recommend.
We had an amazing birthday dinner for my wife. The food was incredible and the service was top notch. We didn’t wait forever for our food either. It was an unforgettable experience.

The food was delicious and unique. The wait staff and management team was very nice and makes you feel at home. The ambience was fine but not great. Sitting at the counter was somewhat entertaining but there was no interaction at all with the line staff and I think that would be neat. Although they are quite busy. A special food experience if you opt for the 5 course entree selection. My wife and I each got the 5-course meal. This is a 5 small plate meal rather than a true coursed meal (ie not app, salad, entree, dessert). This was truly amazing food. I would recommend splitting the 5 course with someone and adding an appetizer and dessert.

We celebrated my husband’s 60th birthday last night. It was a special occasion indeed and The Chef and I delivered on all regards. The restaurant is cozy and staff is most attentive. We sat in front of the chefs and our ten-year old loved it especially. Mike looked after us and did an amazing job, and Chef Sarah was impressive to watch in action. Speciality drinks were fab, appetizers were wonderful and dinner was scrumptious, but just when we thought we couldn’t eat anymore, our son convinced us to get dessert. It was heavenly! He ordered the dark chocolate sorbet and Chef Sarah’s graham cracker chocolate drizzle mascarpone speciality! So save room for dessert. It’s a must! Thanks to the genuine crew for closing the milestone birthday celebration on a very special note. It was a beautiful evening!

I eat at a lot of fine dining establishments with tasting menus. This one was good but not great. The food was excellent for the most part and well thought out. The wine pairing was just ok. The service was great. The food came out quick and was presented well. My complaints would be the atmosphere, too laid back for me. Other customers were dressed nice, the waiters and waitresses were dressed nice, but the inside of the restaurant just doesn’t match that fine dining date night atmosphere you would get elsewhere. You just kind of feel over dressed sitting inside. The server was trying his best to tell us about each wine that he brought out to us but you could tell he was just repeating a couple of vague sentences that he just finished reading. There’s nothing better or more impressive than when a good sommelier can tell you in detail why he chose the wine he chose and every fact about the wine and it’s origins. Over all it was a great experience but for the price, I personally, would want a little more of an experience.
Was so excited to try my first chef tasting ever and they made it such an amazing experience. I also did the wine pairing and Justin was kind enough to modify it for me since I am sensitive to red wines. The food was excellent and the staff were super attentive. That's for making my trip to Nashville even more memorable.
Great food. 4/5 courses were amazing. Also the dessert was so good.
