Peter is great!
Went for a nice dinner and was blown away. I had the shrimp and grits and wanted to take a picture but I ate it way to fast. 100% recommend
we liked everything, very original, hip and happening,
Fantastic first time visit. The food was excellent. The service was okay. I had the shrimp and grits and the butternut squash caprese salad, both were excellent. My friend had the smoke salmon appetizer and the pork tenderloin dish. They were equally good. I would recommend to anyone who loves freshly prepared quality food.
Loved everything about our experience. The food, staff & vibe were nothing short of spectacular!
Chef and I is a great restaurant where I suggest you sit at the bar! It is an open kitchen concept so you get to watch the chefs create meals. The chefs also chat with you and are just as engaging as the staff. 1/2 the staff members served us and made sure everything was just right.
The food was excellent. My husband ordered from the menu and had the steak and horseradish mashed potatoes with terrific mushrooms. I had the tasting menu - the 7 course because I could not leave out the duck and the scallops!!! Everything was fabulous. The opening was a terrific and a definite winner: pears and brie but it wasn't too sweet (Perfection)! Everything was great but my favs in order were the scallop and the pork belly and the duck. BUT nothing was bad. the Poke Bowl, even the spicey polenta was good (with the glass of milk they brought to me - yes I am a wimp!
I highly recommend enjoying this restaurant on your next night you feel like being in the kitchen!
Loved wine - food pairing for two of the party. Loved interaction with chef/owner. Great experience. Grouper dinner for other two diners was spectacular! Other diner had some restrictions with food and since everything is prepared fresh, the chef was able to make adjustments to the ingredients. Would highly recommend to others.
It was beyond the reviews....fantastic! From the drinks at the bar then to our kitchen spot it was amazing. The seven course tasting was unique and full of flavors. Delicious food and the experience was what was the cherry on top! Every single employee was friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel like family. Cheers to all of them and we will be back!
Fantastic meal from beginning to end.
Not our first visit. The food is high quality and by sitting at the counter facing the open kitchen one also enjoys a show. The service is great and the place has a nice setup. On other occasions it was somewhat noisy but not this time (early dinner). This is not an inexpensive place but prices are expected taking quality into consideration. There is some variability in the entrees, some very tasty and others blander, but there is no question that all are high cuisine.
Totally worth it. First visit and did the tasting menu. They have a regular menu also. Sat at the counter and I recommend it. Every dish looked amazing as it went out. Got the peanut butter brûlée for desert and it was excellent.
Everyone from the valet to the Chef was extremely nice!!!! The food was awesome and I can’t wait to return. I believe I’ll try the brunch next!
We very much enjoyed the open kitchen concept that allowed us to interact with our chef. The vibe was cool and the food was excellent.
It was awesome, beginning with free and friendly valet service to welcoming staff, great servers and then there was the FOOD!! Our group had a 3-course tasting menu, steak, duck, scallops, chicken and shrimp & grits. All were great. We also tried 4 of the 7 or 8 dessert offerings—our favorite was the PB&J Crème Brûlée!! It was a lively, noisy atmosphere where it seemed everyone was having fun. Do go here with a crowd you enjoy and definitely talk to the folks seated next to you!!
Great spot for lunch.
We celebrated my wife’s 70th birthday. Our server Mike was outstanding, as was the whole evening. Very unusual concept, sitting around a communal counter watching the chef prepare everyone’s meal. It worked for us!
Great food. Nice atmosphere. Friendly service.
We were able to get a counter reservation. Watching the kitchen work was very fun and impressive to see them all in action. The tasting menu was more than we usually spend on a meal, but we were glad we splurged. The desserts were the perfect ending to a wonderful evening. Highly recommend.
We sat at the chefs counter and loved being able to watch our food, along with everyone else’s, be cooked fresh right before our eyes. The drinks were good, the appetizers were incredible, and the interactions with the chefs were really a one of a kind experience. Highly recommend for birthdays, anniversary’s and other special events.
Easter brunch was fantastic (as always). Best dinning in Nashville!!!
Simply put one of the best dining experiences ive had.
Run don't walk to this fabulous dining experience. Our new favorite for sure!Every dish delicious! Best meal we have ever had in Nashville!
This was a my second to visit and it was just as good as the first. Was a party of four which for the other 3 it was their first time. They really enjoyed it said they would go back again. Service was great, food was great and over all experience was great.
Really enjoyed the experience and will be back. Most dishes were excellent, with one or two just ok. Ingredients are top quality though and the different tastes kept things varied which we like. I'd go for the tasting - the other dishes are very large and it's more fun to try many different things. They were overall a better value at their previous location in Nolensville, and it felt like we were gouged a little on the drinks ($17 for an Old Fashioned) but I can't blame the owner to going where there are more customers. Plus when it's crowded the kitchen is more fun to watch. 4 solid stars.
One of the best meals ever, great food, owners were going around to tables and very accomodating!!! Treated us to free appetizer for 6.....would definitely recommend!!!
Our first time here - went in the recommendation of family. Incredible.
Loved the variety and quality of food on the Prix Fixe menu. Staff was very attentive. Overall great experience.
Fabulous food, horrible ambiance, way too noisy and awkward seating
We sat at the counter, loved the interaction with the Chef while preparing our meal. The food was delicious, all fresh ingredients. This may be one of our new favorite restaurants.
Chef and I is a hidden gem serving some of the best plates in Nashville and it has a great tasting menu.
I’m a foodie and this has been my “go to” place so far in 2018 for lunch and brunch. I’m sure dinner is an even better experience.
Excellent attention to detail. Very impressed with the culinary team’s ability to answer questions and explain dishes while multitasking. Everyone from the hostess to the server to the sous chef were warm and inviting. I would travel to Nashville again just to eat here.
Our daughters recommended Chef and I as they know how we love to have an unique dining experience when we are in Nashville. The staff from the greeter to the chefs were so warm and welcoming. It was so much fun to sit at the kitchen counter watching the chefs cook and plate the delicious courses. They love their job and seem to take great pride in their offerings. We loved the cauliflower flatbread and the spinach apple salad. The ingredients were healthy, fresh, and beautifully prepared. We ended the meal with the chocolate and raspberry tart which was wonderful. I love that you can choose small plates or entrees. I am eager to go back in the near future.
Great food, great service, great place.
We sat at the counter and chatted with the chef as he prepared meals. It was fun watching him work and to be able to ask questions about what was going into different dishes.
We had the Berkshire Pork Tenderloin and the Beef Teres Major Steak. Both entrees were amazing but... the pana cotta... THAT was the best!!
The food was fantastic from the cauliflower goat cheese Appetizer to the almond cake dessert. Very hospitable. Will be back!
I had looked at the dining room pictures and read the menu before booking. However, the hightop seating is drastically different in person. I feel more seats were even there than the pics showed. We were crammed in elbow to elbow with folks. So this place is not for a romantic night out, early dates or expecting something to allow for private conversation(which we did want). Also, you don't really get to interact with your server because they have to stand behind you and reach across you, this wasn't ideal either.
Now, if you've made it past my negative let me say it's great for a casual night out, happy hour and friends looking to get loose and jovial with each other. The food is pricy but you should know that, like I did, by looking at their menu before booking. The food was delicious, served hot and the staff was timely. We were there on a busy Saturday night, my wife and I. With an appetizer, a 3 flight Taster, Smoked Salmon Salad and the PB&J Creme Brûlée it was just shy a bill without alcohol. I could've eaten a whole portion of that mushroom/pasta second course. We also raved about the Creme Brûlée to several friends.
We would go back but choose one of the standard tables near the door(more private-like) or sit at the chef's bar.
The food was great and the service was even better. The restaurant staff was very attentive to our needs and I highly recommend this place. The seating is a little non traditional but it encouraged us to meet the couple seated beside us and I think we have found a new set of friends.
I had guests in town and I had never heard of this restaurant but saw it had great reviews on open table. This place was sooo good! Super friendly staff, and the food was fantastic. I would go back there again and again! My family is a bunch of foodies so needless to say we’ve tried a ton of places and this is definitely at the top of some of our favorite!
We went for our anniversary hoping for a new experience and did we ever get it! Unique and delightful food and drink, with a wonderful atmosphere and learning experience at the counter. Wish I could keep it a secret just for me but no chance in that! A must try!
We had the 3 course menu option. The pork belly bruschetta was excellent. The mushroom 2nd course was full of flavor and filling. The crab cake third course was one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend and we will be back.
