Food was great and the outdoor hot chocolate bar was amazing!
Absolutely first class. Dinner was superb. Menu was exactly what we were looking for. Service outstanding. In this day and age of COVID, it was just so nice to get out. Kudos to the entire Chanler staff! We will be back again and again...
We have been to this beautiful spot a few times. Last night the restaurant was disappointing. Firstly, it was absolutely freezing! We could have been eating outside and been warmer. The installed ceiling heaters were not on. The food was expensive but ok. Brussel sprout and gnocchi apps were decent. Entrees (bucatini, petite filet) were good. Desserts (pumpkin mouse, chocolate cake) were terrible. They were pretty but totally lacked flavor. Server was ok but not terribly attentive and there were not a lot of diners. It’s too bad, as we were thinking of booking a long weekend here at the hotel affiliate. Overall dissatisfied. Very.
the food was wonderful. the pastas and sandwiches are unique and delicious. the service was genuine and great.
On advice of a friend we decided to celebrate my daughter’s admission to her #1 college at The Chanler including their hot chocolate bar. The hot chocolate drinks were as sinfully good as they were beautiful with a choice of milk or dark chocolate, with or without liqueur. The lunch was delicious. My slow roasted lamb sandwich on sourdough was delicious and the girls’ pasta dishes were excellent. The service was attentive and pleasant. Won’t be my last visit.
Great views and wonderful service. Seafood was very tasty.
Limited menu, the dish was somewhat tasteless...blame it on Covid...
Beautiful spot! Everything was delicious. Service was great!
Fantastic service, romantic ambience, good cocktails and food. Standard new american fare. Would recommend the pistachio pate and the rigatoni.
Best burger I’ve ever had. Oysters were amazing. Customized drinks based on our taste preferences that the bartender whipped up. Will definitely be back!
Perfect evening; food and service impeccable. These are difficult days for the hospitality business with the pandemic. The Chandler does everything to give you a great safe experience
The food was o.k. Except for the short ribs which I ordered. They were 95% fat and gristle. Ambience was not too pleasant in outdoor outdoor tented terrace. No tablecloths, no charm. Service was desultory. Would not return.
The food and service were excellent. You can't beat the incredible view and relaxation dining here provides! I felt like I was on vacation.
The view and property is gorgeous! Portions are very small, so don't go here if you are starving. There were 4 of us that left still hungry and the food was just ok.
Anniversary. Great spot and excellent service and wine list.
Nice place to celebrate an anniversary.
I brought my six-year-old son here over the weekend and we had such a lovely time. We had two seats overlooking the ocean which was just so perfect. The food was delicious with wonderful service. We can’t wait to go back and visit
Great view from our table watching the sunset and surfers. Tempature was comfortable and our favorite was the famous French pear martinis.
Lovely dinner. Service was excellent. And my husband loved the cod dish. He had oysters as an appetizer. Very good. I had a corn soup and lobster Cobb salad. Both very enjoyable.
This is a beautiful restaurant with fantastic food and exceptional service. Our waiter Shea was one of the best we have had in a long time.
It’s overrated and the food isn’t that good only go for the view but keep in mind it’s very expensive
Great ambiance. Great food. Great service
Loved everything. The fried oysters could have been more freshly made.
I was very excited to dine here for my birthday. I am a culinary student and had high expectations for the food which fell a little short. We had the gnocchi appetizer which was cooked perfectly. However, it lacked flavor. Our steak was cooked perfectly as well and paired with a panzanella salad. The real issue was the tuna steak. We noticed the bloodline was left in along with some silver skin. Yes, we were able to eat around it but felt it was unacceptable from a high end place. We informed the server hoping they would let the kitchen know. We were not at all looking for a freebie but a manager should have at least touched our table to apologize or acknowledge the complaint. There were many managers walking around that night that missed details I could see from my seat. Besides the few cons of the night the restaurant was very clean and Covid conscious.
The service was superb! Maggie was my waitress and she was fantastic - attentive, accommodating and a good listener. She is worth requesting as a waitress as she did such a wonderful job. Also, Lily the hostess was super helpful including letting me change seats and setting up a spot outside with an umbrella that needed to be adjusted and opened. She took care of all of it and did it with smiles! Great job by her! The food was excellent! I got oysters and then also the lobster Cobb salad. Great views and we got to watch a bit of a lightning storm over the water! Thank you all ! Always my best, John Allaire
Drinks are great, but food is mediocre. There isn’t much to choose from. The grounds are beautiful and there’s a nice view, although tenting was up on the sides despite it being a beautiful day. You’re paying more for the view and vibe versus quality here. It’s nice to try once but not sure I’d return.
The atmosphere is gorgeous, although we reserved dining outside and the tent was practically enclosed which made us nervous due to COVID-19. The food is trying hard to be gourmet, but the chef is not quite there. We sent back our $6 focaccia bread because it was tough, chewy, and stale. Portion sizes were small with big prices. The seafood bouillabaisse was so fishy my wife was afraid to eat it while pregnant. We traded dishes instead. I felt as though the mussels and clams were not fresh. No dessert, as we had enough disappointment for one night. I would go back for a drink and some peanuts.
Stopped there for lunch on a beautiful day and although the view was lovely, the food was just mediocre. Might be 2020 though, since nothing is normal, so I would say give it a chance on a nice day!
anniversary lunch with boyfriend. Awesome food, service, and view— would absolutely recommend for a nice experience!’
It was a nice day, but unfortunately the plastic was down, surrounding the entire terrace. The food was largely unremarkable but for the price point, coupled with the lack of ambiance brought on by a hermetically sealed outdoor space, it was fair. The cod fish had a dubious color and texture, and the lobster salad was mostly lobster on half a head of iceberg. The experience was okay — not what we had expected, and not on par with past visits.
New England Corn Chowder was creamy, slightly sweet and excellent. The scallop roll was unusually good. I also liked the Oolong Iced Tea.
19th wedding anniversary, got seated in an outdoor hallway by a closed service bar...no view. Very expensive!
We shared several small plates and every bite was delicious! The menu is special. Highly recommend this lovely spot!
One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Fish was also delicious!
It was our anniversary. Hostess was accommodating and let us sit inside since it was chilly. Sat for about 10 minutes before requesting service (meanwhile the fine dining room was Busy and a number of servers walked by us several times without even acknowledging us to find out if we were being helped) once our waitress arrived, she was very attentive (being the only couple in the room) and we were very happy with her.
The food was OK - We both had RI bouillabaisse- for the price fairly expensive but disappointed in the small serving, the mussels were terrible, very small and I could count 5 of them, couple of clams and cod. Needless to say I was still very hungry after my main course (and I am medium size person) we were never offered bread to start. Bottle of wine and 2 desserts -
But for my $250 dollars, definitely will go elsewhere for a special occasion dinner.
The view was beautiful and enjoyed our lunch until I received my Tuna Steak with hair in it. I told one of the servers that there was hair in my food and she said she would bring out a new plate. The server who was assigned to my table just came and said the food should be out soon and never properly apologized. I was expecting a manager to come by and acknowledge the mistake but he was going around to other tables but ours. At such a nice restaurant, I was expecting same level of service which unfortunately my mother and I did not receive. I would like management to reach out to me about my experience.
The staff would not listen to our suggestions. We were outside dining, it was cool and there was no heaters. We were near a vent that was allowing cold are in the outside covered area. We hesitated to ask to move because they were not open to anything we said prior to this point. We stayed were we were because we were made to feel we were a bother to the staff. We live locally and so did our guests, we were two couples. We will not recommend dining there again to any full time residents or anyone who visits with us. The food was adequate. The bill did not reflect value for the food and drink we received. Not returning.
Lovely setting in a mansion overlooking the bay.
Unfortunately did not have good experience. Staff was apologetic, service was good but food was not. First, Since a very Limited menu they should not run out of anything. In addition, my wife had to send back steak dinner. We had stated to waitress prior to ordering that we like tender steak like filet and not fattier type steaks. She didn’t know what cut of meat but assured us it was not a chewy type. Well the flank steak that came out was way Too chewy on top of being a very small portion. I had tuna, just ok, nothing special and again 2 small slices on top of lettuce. Appetizer we split a veggie type salad, barely enough for 1. Very plain, no flavor. We have eaten here years prior with good reviews but not this time. Kitchen staff should know. Again manager very apologetic. Also would like to mention, staff should know the menu when customers ask. Sorry for poor review but when restaurants are good I give rave reviews.
