Excellent food in a beautiful and tranquil setting.
Service was challenged and food was just mediocre.
Come for the view but not much else. The food is okay and wait staff was fairly slow (it took close to a half hour to get bread, I asked to order a beer with dinner but the waiter never came back to take the order until we were done).
It was fairly loud when we were there, but that's because a young lady had a crying baby.
There was a full moon and the atmosphere was amazing!
Ask for the off menu Whole Lobster. It was amazing.
A great evening, service, ambiance and good were all great, highly recommend
Beautiful place excellent food and even a better service
Very nice dinner and superb location.
The restaurant was perfect, nice and quiet with well spaced tables, excellent service and food and a magnificent setting and view. A new favorite and we have already booked 2 more lunches there.
Amazing! Service was perfect! What a view!
The food and service were very good. But rather than being seated at a table, we were seated on a wicker loveseat, with two small wooden benches for a table. This seemed somewhat unusual to me - and was rather uncomfortable.
Memorable lunch during week-long anniversary trip. Food, ambiance and service were all excellent. Great launching point for doing the Cliff Walk to burn off the lunch too!
It was a lovely evening fir our group sitting outside. Mitchell was host and he was on top of things and attentive. He offered suggestions and was courteous. I hope to come back!
40th Anniversary Dinner. 4 other couple celebrating their wedding anniversaries as well. We supposed to be in Maui but Covid delayed our trip. Next best thing was dinning at Chandlers outdoors with ocean views. Perfect night. Thank you Chandler for a wonderful evening
Food is great. Service about what you would expect at Applebee’s.
Amazing views and food. Service was exceptional
Beautiful environment with delicious food from start to finish.
Gorgeous outdoor dining. Delicious food and amazing cocktails
Gorgeous setting, excellent food. Service was a bit slow, especially towards the end of our meal, but otherwise I would highly recommend dining here.
Food is adequate, not spectacular, and very expensive for what it is. But the setting, views, and ambiance are wonderful
It was what you would expect- delicious food but maybe not worth the high price tag. Either way the view is smazing- if you can get a front table (which there are only a few) but all in all a great dinner spot.
Elegant and quiet venue overlooking the ocean at 1st Beach. The food is of high quality and well prepared but small portions and highly priced.
Thanks . Fantastic experience
The view while dining outdoors at the Chanler was amazing. The service was great but the food was just ok. Our burgers were very dry and the $40 swordfish dish was very small. We left hungry and unsatisfied.
The food at the Cafe at the Chanler is always very creative, delicious and
beautifully presented. The service is always outstanding. The setting is stunning overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the beginning of the famous
Cliff Walk. The grounds are always beautifully manicured and the building has been wonderfully restored keeping the Newport Theme !
The terrace is spectacular for ambiance and the service was fantastic. Fine dining experiences seem to have become limited lately but The Chanler delivers special service. Food was very good as well.
The terrace is a lovely space, but the lighting is terrible. Service station areas appeared makeshift and were not camouflaged in any way from the dining area.
Not impressed with the terrace. Very dark and service was slow
Food was not good . Slimy lobster. Presentation wrong. dessert was not fresh.Drinks were excellent.server was very helpful and pleasant.
Food was mediocre, service was very lacking.. didn’t get any food until 50 minutes after sitting down. Seemed like no one was in charge. Incredible view.
The food and service were terrific. The view was spectacular.
Amazing house, outstanding view!
Loved the setting. Food was amazing and staff fabulous
Chanler was such a great experience in the past The menu is limited now- three sandwiches and limited entree. Brisket sandwich bread was so stale it was almost inedible swordfish was frozen - dried out in cooking process. Nice kids with no training. Limited staffing. Beautiful venue that I will never go back to. Someone come In And show them how they can be great again
We just love this place. The food and service couldn’t be better and of course the view is amazing! We have been here many times and have never been disappointed.
We were seated at a fabulous table on the porch. Roof protected us from the sun. Superb service. Enjoyed amazing mocktails..the best hamburger ever...beef eaters,, definitely try it..unique green salad with yummy blueberry lemon vinegarette dressing..
Sigh. I am always disappointed in the Cafe. This time the service was not very attentive and the food was mediocre for the prices, which have gotten to the point where it's not worth going, even for the fabulous view and ambiance. Our first choice was Castle Hill which has much better food and service. No wonder they were fully booked and we managed to get a reservation at the Cafe on Folk Festival weekend!
The hotel was beautiful, the bar was excellent although pricey. The ambiance was great other then the memorial highway. Food was fair at best.
Amazing location and service. Food was great, too.
