Great food and service. The wine list has all the regulars but would benefit from expansion into some less well-known producers.
So great! Impressed with the menu, quality of food and the knowledge of our server (Lindsey). Exceeded expectations on all fronts. Highly recommend the octopus, venison sausage, pork chop and pistachio puffs.
Delicious food! Appetizer portions easily shareable by 4. Entrees easily shared by 2. Excellent cocktails and wine options. Great service!
Very friendly and helpful staff, amazing food, large portions. I would recommend sharing.
Amazing food, prompt service. Dinner at 5p and plenty of time to make it to the 630p show.
The long rib and pork chops are spectacular. If you like quality tasty meats and bourbon, this place is heaven.
Great meat place - and they do have veggie options
The dinner was perfect. Not too crowded. The food...the pork chop was insane...never had pork that incredible. And of course the prime ribeye was good.
My husband and I loved Butcher and the Boar, and continue to love The Butcher’s Tale. Food and service were top-notch as always. We loved the Mediterranean lamb sausage!
We had high expectations yet everything clicked a notch above. The ribs were especially a level beyond anything else in our market.
If you’re looking for an innovative meat-centric menu and excellent bourbon cocktails- this is the place for you. Sat at the bar and had a great meal. The steak, long rib, and the sliders were so good. The bartender was great at describing the menu and helping to decide on our meals, which made our experience that much better. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Minnesota.
Excellent service and food. The menu is fantastic. Very nice Restaurant in downtown Minneapolis
The food was very good, very attentive staff. I would say the prices are a bit high.
Good food but grossly overpriced. Decent but not great menu. Ambiance very casual, but OK. The restaurant was packed ( New Year’s Eve…) so not enough social distancing or ventilation. So called valet parking is just a parking lot with hard to find entrance where you park yourself the car - only difference is that you pay much more to leave the keys with the attendant and upon pick up you have to wait in the cold until the attendant comes back and returns your keys.
Food was amazing, as it should be for the price point. We tried some flavor combos that we never had before. The house made sausage is a must-try! Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, it was a busy night and he made a great effort to make sure we had what we needed. My only feedback is that even having made reservations for NYE, we were seated in the bar area at a very small table seated very close (almost uncomfortably close) to the other patrons next to us.
Felt very over priced. Wasn’t a fan of the pork chop . Too sweet . Waitress super nice and helpful . Overall vibe of place was nice.
The food was incredible as always, service was fantastic…we love this place!
The lamb sausage special was incredible and the beef rib was enormous and absolutely decadent!
Not nearly as good as the old butcher and boar!
Amazing! Love Butchers Tale!
I have came here many times to celebrate occasions and it has never disappointed. The food, staff, and ambiance have always been top notch. If you're looking to spend a bit more $ than your average nice restaurant, this is a guaranteed choice.
Good food, smallish table. Food was maybe not mind blowing for price paid, but was excellent. Sounds levels were great with good music at low volume, conversation was easy. Service and staff were top notch. Not a place to bring kids.
I would go again, though not regularly as it is pricey for me, and isn't that much better than something half as much.
My husband and I ate here while staying in the city for an event from out of state. The food and service were both top notch. We ordered multiple items off of the menu and all were just as good as the next. There was a cute patio as well but we went in the winter so that wasn’t an option at the time. We would definitely come back!
Amazing food, great service and nice ambiance. We'll be going back.
Service is excellent. The Spanish Octopus was very good and the pork chop is simply amazing.
Wygu steak was fantastic. however the center cut steak ordered by two in our group was not special. The meat was firm, not tender even cooked rare was below expectation.
Waited forever for food. And ur want that good anyway.
New spot for us in Downtown Mpls and we really enjoyed it. Prices are high, but food was excellent and wait staff very attentive.
Great food. Great place. Would go back in the future.
2 top tables are squished together along wall resulting in very little privacy for those intimate conversations. Not a good set up unless you like to hear the arguments of the couple seated next to you.
Incredible food. Wagu beef and scallops that were cooked to perfection. For the whiskey/ scotch/bourbon lovers this place is heaven! The seating is a little close together which was not a problem for me or my party but realize that those anxious about COVID may want to request one of the dinning rooms that offers a little more space
We came away with basically an average rating of the food, which was not what we expected from a higher end restaurant. My wife had one of the Wagyu steaks which was surprisingly tough instead of tender. It also had a char on the outside at medium rare that overpowered the flavor of the steak. The Barley salad has great ingredients but the the lemon juice or dressing overshadowed the rest of the flavors. I thought the duroc spare ribs were very good. Overall, a pretty average experience at a high price point.
The food and service were exceptional! Perfect for a special occasion!
The food was very good. We started with the wood grilled oysters which were amazing. We did try a homemade sausage and found it to be tasty but greasy. We then split a ribeye and it was the perfect size for sharing. The dining room is just one big room. While the decor was very trendy and comfortable, I found the tables a bit close. Getting out of the booth seat was difficult not to knock over our neighbors drinks in the winter with big heavy coats. The service was fine. Not too fast and not too slow. Overall, I would go again. The food was quite good.
The food and cocktails were wonderful and the bar staff were highly entertaining and very attentive. Love the atmosphere for a fun girls night out.
The dinner menu is a bit small but the items on it I was able to sample were very good. Service was excellent.
Was overcharged $80 at the bar. Bartender assured me it would be corrected on my card, yet never did.
Bulgogi sausag and barley salad where the stand out dishes
