{Join us for SUNDAY BRUNCH!}

The Bull Valley Roadhouse serves American roadhouse food prepared from scratch with century-old techniques using fresh ingredients from our favorite small farms. A beacon at the end of a canyon road in the historic dock town of Port Costa, the roadhouse welcomes locals, travelers and adventurous day-trippers alike in its 1897 landmark dining room and bar. Stepping into the saloon-like rooms, guests can sense more than 100 years of hospitality. The proprietors strive to maintain that warm tradition and leave everyone feeling relaxed, well fed and eager to return. Look for us under the golden bull.

Sunday brunch served from 10:30 am through 2:00 pm.

Atmosphere and drive there awesome. Food solid but overpriced. Service slow but friendly. Nice night romantic lighting.

This was the second time we went to the Bull Valley Roadhouse for a birthday dinner. Knowing that it is loud there, we reserved a specific corner table were we would be a bit "sheltered" from the surrounding noise conversations which made our experience more enjoyable.
We had the Fried chicken, Heirloom lettuce and Mac and Cheese. The food and service were good (not excellent). What was disappointing, though, was that unlike the previous year, no birthday candle or song and the whopping $25 corkage fee. There are good restaurants in Napa that do not charge a corkage fee that high...also they could have waved it as a birthday courtesy.

Very low key restaurant. Loved the ambiance with all the old photos covering the walls. Felt like a step back in time. Food was excellent, great drinks, excellent staff

Always a treat to enjoy. Looked forward to their mussels but they ran out. This actually allowed us to try other dishes. The tempur Cod was great. Braised kale and mashed potatoes delicious. Service is always good. Very attentive. All round good evening.

This place is absolutely awesome. The location itself is worth going there a bit earl to experience. It is like time traveling to a parallel aternate universe. The restaurant is in a dilapidated Victorian era building that made me wonder how it was still standing. The interior, however, was stylish exuded a casual elegance from a bygone era. Everything we ate was delicious and perfectly prepared, the service was fantastic. The "pre-prohibition cocktails"and the wine we ordered were excellent. The menu made American Cuisine not an oxymoron. Go! you won't be dissappointed.

Trying too hard with the decor giving the walls a cluttered look and not sure what the big cloud/light thing is above the door.

Very busy with people crowding the doorway. 'Had to stand at the bar while waiting for our reserved table.

Brussels Sprouts starter was too dry, too spicy and too salty. Fried chicken was (too) crispy and blackened in parts. The chicken inside was juicy like it had been marinated or injected. Again, it was too salty and was missing the chili jam or whatever's it was supposed to come with. As they make a big deal of their drinks menu, maybe that explains the saltiness of the food! Mac and cheese was okay, but nothing great. Small "pot de chocolat" dessert thing was presented in a whisky glass and just tasted like a supermarket chocolate pudding. Bus boys constantly lifting plates throughout the meal.

Overall, it has a very limited menu, is overpriced and overrated in my opinion but worth visiting once for the odd location and weird vibe I guess.

Might have enjoyed it more had it been less busy and not had very noisy bikers tearing up and down the street.

This restaurant is one of my favorite for sure. Because it is so different from any other restaurant, we always invite there our friends from out of the aera and are nit familiar with this restaurant. It is a scenic drive there. The menu is small, but there is for something for everybody. We always order the Fried Chicken, which they are famous for rightfully so. It is crispy on the outside and very moist inside. We also ordered the Smoked pork chops. We started with Burrata cheese on toasts and Brussels Sprouts. They were both delicious. The mashed potatoes were out of this world, like homemade style. For Dessert we had the Olive oil cake with Blood Orange sauce. The portions are Family style, so for 4 people you can order 2 entrees and 2 sides and 2 desserts. The service is outstanding. Great classic drinks from prohibition.! Can't wait to go back!
