I love this place. This is one of our favorite places. Our go to waitresses are Shirley and Pam! The manager rick was great. All of them give such amazing customer service.
The Buffet at the Hyatt is amazing. The food is incredible. There is even food station for kids, a popcorn bar and a soft serve ice cream station with a variety of flavors and toppings. And to top it all is the kamaaina discount!!! This is definitely a must go to place. We had the best server named Arnold. He is awesome!
The food wasn’t as good as it portrayed to be. Definitely not worth $65 a person.
This may sound weird but I really enjoyed the Hyatt Buffet but I'm allergic to seafood. There were choices that I enjoyed such as the huli huli chicken, kalua cabbage vegetable tempura and prime rib. My friend enjoyed the crab legs, which they will heat for you if you ask.
There were plenty of awesome seafood selections including crab legs, shrimp tempura, prawns, oysters, clams, calamari, poké and sushi.
I wish I saved room for more dessert. They have a soft serve ice cream machine that dispenses flavored ice cream but I could only manage one bowl. I also tried a strawberry rolled mini cake and a piece of carrot cake. Both desserts were nice and light.
I asked my friend if she would come back and she said yes. She asked me and I said yes but I would start with my head under the soft serve spout.
Food was displayed in small batches and employees filled constantly. This is so much better than the giant pans that don't look appealing after awhile. Staff was friendly and wait staff was attentive. Valet parking was free and there is a kama'aina discount.
I would definitely come back and bring friends.
Pam was right on with service and hospitality. Will ask for her serving area next round
Once again, Hyatt Buffet never fails to provide such great service!!
We RSVP for a party of 6 & got seated right away. Our server Terry was amazing! He served us right away with drinks and information on the buffet options. He also offered to bring to our table a plate of Snowcrabs & king crab all warmed up. He was quick and professional. He offered to take a photo for my family and he came back often enough to check on us, refilled our waters and cleaned up our table. He does such an amazing job and is absolutely friendly! Keep up the great work Terry!
The many variety of food options were great!
Prime Rib, Sea food, pasta, salads, kids buffet, poke, desserts and more! Definitely worth your money, time & service! They also provide Kamaaina for locals.
I still loooooooove the fresh oysters! The Prime Rib was also cooked perfect! If I could give this place more stars I would. I been back here 3 times and they have never failed to give us a great night.
The food was bland and over cooked and some to cold. The ice cream however was the best and the sushi and popcorn
Went to the dinner buffet.
It was very expensive for the type of food per person.
Good service, not so great food.
Great service with Clausen!
Best buffet in Hawaii
There wasn’t much of a variety and the ambiance was lacking for a Christmas dinner/buffet.
This was supposed to be a special xmas day dinner for our family. We were 30 minutes late at being seated with no apology . We were seated in a room down stairs which was just like a food court at a mall. Some of the food that should have been hot was not, it was like once the food was put out for the first sitting it was just left and not topped up. Some of our group really enjoyed the sea food selection. Our family wanted to experience a real Hawaiian xmas,
Expectedly, the Xmas buffet price was increased but so were items on the buffet. We liked the lobster claws, scallops and king crab, but the Prime Rib was an odd-looking smaller roast. The service was superb as we linked up with our wait-person Karsten from the old Colony restaurant but the ambience was less then the usual buffet venue as they had to use the old Colony site due the heavy rain caused the outside area of the regular restaurant to be un-useable. However, all-in-all, it was a very pleasant experience for
xmas eve dinner.
Excellent table service for a buffet.
Seeming very confusing at hostess stand at check in
We had a reservation, but they placed us not in the actual restaurant, but downstairs in a banquet room, which felt like overflow, stuffy, warm, ceiling low, a cheap alternate. I felt like they placed us in the banquet room because we looked like locals, even though we were staying at the Grand Islander which we payed top price for a 2 bedroom hotel room. The food wasn't great for the price. We paid the Christmas dinner of $89 adults and $33 for kids. The oysters were warm, the regulat crab legs tasted better than the king crab legs. I came for the ambiance and celebration for Christmas, but what I got was an unsatisfactory result and an expensive bill. They also started closing down the buffet and stopped bringing out food, and wanted us to eat whatever was out. Believe it is a high priced buffet, will never be back.
Great family experience food good needed more selection in vegetables
Been to different buffets here in hawaii.but the food here is mediocre, lots of choices but some not too tasty.the crablegs is frozen so u need to ask for the waiter to heat it up its better if its readily warm.the service is excellent. Our waiter is too attentive.the space, table is small. The price is too much.
It was very expensive whether it was a special dish on Christmas Eve. Table service was very good
Overrall experience was very good. Very disappointed with king crab legs. Appeared to be overcooked; shell too soft to crack and meat was mushy.
The Buffet at Hyatt was a great Christmas Eve Dinner in a Banquet Room. The seafood was very fresh and very delicious. The hot entrees was also very delicious. We had Shawn as our waiter and he was on top of everything and we had the best service. Shawn even gave my mom his Christmas light necklace which made mom very happy. Thank you Shawn and The Buffet at Hyatt for a very memorable Christmas Eve Dinner. We will continue to dine at The Buffet at Hyatt.
Food was plentiful and constantly refilled. Salmon skin hand roll was excellent as was the sushi and tempura. Prime was good. All food seems a little on e bland side, however salt and seasoned salt at all stations. Prawns A+ and crab was served cold but was meaty. Dessert last were just ok. Our server was excellent. He was around but not invasive. Kind of pricey but it was a good Xmas dinner buffet.
Carving station meat cold, poki Ok . Crab meat salty and don’t see Alaskan crab legs!
the food is ok but our server Pam was awesome. we made a reservation came in a earlier and the were able to accommodate us right away.
It felt like the food has gotten better since our last visit a couple of months ago. Loved that there were both King crab legs and Snow Crab. But most of loved the raw oysters and the scallops in shell. Spent most of my time eating those items but partook of a slice of medium prime rib roast - delicious. There were two pasta dishes that I really enjoyed. I passed up the Hawaiian food and opted for the salad bar and some sushi. Didn’t notice any sashimi but I really wasn’t hungry for any. Just having the crab legs, oyster and scallops made it all worth the price. Gotta go back in 2020.
I wish I knew ahead of time that our party of 6 was going to be seated in the outside area.It was the farthest away from the buffet and the lighting was bad. One of my guests made a comment that she realized food tasted better when you could see what was on your plate.
The staff and manager on shift was very accommodating. My family overall loved it. Very clean and sanitary. Thank you again!
We waited over 35 minutes which we weren’t happy about. But our server was incredible, outstanding in every way. I’m from the Big Island. I will be back. The food was amazing.
Probably better buffets out there. The "prime" rib, was not. I'm not sure the "drawn butter" was dairy in any way. Tempura was good.
Food, service as always was excellent.
The food is ok. For the price, I was expected a finest meal. The decor is not very nice... It looks like a random buffet. We were there with my family. We had a good time but the place is overpriced for the quality.
Our waiter was nice.
The food was delicious, but the shrimp tempura, tempura sauce, au jus wasn't hot enough.
Food was mediocre and very disappointing. Crab was cold, very little food selection, disappointing considering we paid $66/person. I would NOT recommend.
Celebrated our anniversary with our kids. We’re local but hadn’t gone to experience the buffet here so we decided to check it out. Reservation set. Saturday night. Expected crowds. Checked in. Waited a few minutes. Seated quickly and tucked away which was nice (didn’t need to be around a bunch of loud people). Server got us drinks and off we went. Selection was okay, crab legs and prime rib were the top choices obviously. Asian dishes were great. Tempura was nice. Sushi was good. Overall great time. Service was awesome. Would repeat.
There were cockroaches in the dessert section. Pretty gross considering it was after running around the counter. I know bugs will happen but not around the food area
Came here for Thanksgiving dinner and the service and food was great! Shawn was our server and made our dinner far better than expected. Will definitely be coming back and in hopes in having Shawn being our sever. Food was super delicious and the atmosphere was perfect.
My family and I enjoyed the thanksgiving buffet, along with the incredible service we recieved from our male waiter. The meats, seafood , pasta , salads and desserts were devine.
