Dining area is very small, toilets are not of high standards, food is overpriced - butter was served instead of buttercream; cakes were stale and dry; where were the macaroons? I have to say, the lychee tea was wonderful but the colour of the teapot was disgraceful. I'd give the place a 3 star rating.

While visiting London for the first time we knew we had to have Afternoon Tea. We chose The Brasserie for its proximity to Hyde Park and Kensington Palace, our destinations for the day. We had a lovely Afternoon Tea experience! The food was exceptional, tea was steaming, and the staff was so friendly. We couldn’t have asked for a better time!

When we arrived at 1.25 for our 1.30 booking, there was no one available to greet us. The afternoon tea area was tucked away in a corner behind what appeared to be the breakfast bar. We were so disappointed by the appearance of the place that we did not stay!

We didn't feel The Brasserie offered much variety. We arrived to be told that the Asian menu wasn't available that day, leaving very limited menu choices especially if you wanted to be healthy. My steak and chips was fine but my wife ordered the 'superfood salad', which transpired to be a huge bowl of spinach with a tiny bit of rice, three slices of avocado and a tiny bit of quinoa. Very disappointing for £13. The service was pretty good, but there wasn't much of an atmosphere and we didn't feel it represented good value for money, even for central London.

I loved it, and we felt welcomed. We loved the food and the little cakes. The waiter came fast when we needed her, and we got all the tea, coffee and hot chocolate we wanted. Super nice place!

It was convenient for me to eat at the Brasserie as I was staying at the hotel. My daughter joined me for dinner and, luckily, we were able to laugh at the time it took to be served. The waiter explained that they had a buffet for 18 happening at the same time so we made allowances. However, we had to remind the waiter that we had ordered wine. We waited at least half an hour for our food and then our plates were removed before we had actually finished. We had to ask for a sweet menu. Having ordered pancakes, we then had to wait another half an hour for these to arrive. It was fortunate that my daughter’s last train was midnight!

Went there for afternoon tea with my teenage son. Very nice experience - friendly and serviceminded staff, and especially the scones were very delicious.
