Good value Afternoon Tea in a lovely conservatory-like room, with beautiful views over Hyde Park. The tea selection is slightly limited, but still offers good variety. Staff are lovely, pleasant, and out to make your experience as lovely and enjoyable as possible.
Dana went out of her way to reserve best table in restaurant for my wife's birthday meal. Also staff very attentive to our requirements during the course of the meal
A perfect gift for afternoon tea for a Birthday present. Location is good as it very near to Oxford Street so it works well for shopping especially if you are visiting London. Only a ten minute walk for Marble Arch tube station and even closer if you come to Lancaster Gate tube station ( both on the Central Line ). The position of the Hotel is right opposite Hyde Park.
From their website we went to the pages relating to Afternoon Tea and from there attempted to book a table. We left comments relating to our dietary requirements from which it should have be clear that this was a booking for Afternoon Tea. On arrival at the hotel we were advised that we were too late for Tea and were eventually and I must say reluctantly offered a two course meal in exchange for the Groupon voucher that we had for the Tea. We were only allowed to order from the Early Dining set menu the cost of which was less than the voucher value. The Tea was booked with a voucher purchased as a present for our anniversary and both my wife and myself had been looking forward to it. The initial reluctance of the restaurant staff to honour the voucher and offer a suitable alternative spoilt the Afternoon for both of us.
Basic dining experience, lights were very bright setting no mood and there was no music or anything playing. Also beer was off. Steak was nice though.
The waiting staff were lovely, the food was delicious and good value for money. The only drawback was the room.We were in the conservatory and it was freezing. All diners had to wear their coats all through dinner.Quite uncomfortable.Hopefully this will be rectified for future diners. We would definitely recommend if this issue is sorted out.
Non English speaking staff that have NO restaurant experience and no idea about service.
Menu looked good on first reading, when we got there a very poor buffet was offered, with very little food left.
The voucher offer we purchased included a glass of proseco. We had to ask for it 4 times!
If you want my advice, don't eat in this hotel, GO OUT!
We ate dinner here on the one night we stayed at the Hotel. The front of house staff were very efficient and friendly unfortunately the organization in the kitchen was not as good. We both ordered starters and main courses, after a while we received one starter which we returned as it was not ours and received an apology. Our starters then arrived and were very tasty. We then waited a long time for our main courses and only one arrived, so we sent it back so we could have both together which happened after another 5 mins. The manageress was very apologetic and we received complimentary wine and coffee as compensation. The quality of the Malaysian main courses we ate was excellent, it is a shame that the sides were priced as extra.
Our evening started with difficulty because our reservation was lost and the staff did not seem to know what top table was. After some embarrassment we were seated and treated well. The menu was half brasserie and half Malaysian. We picked Olio's specifically for the Malaysian food, so we chose from that menu. Unfortunately they were out of spring rolls, chicken satay, curried chicken (their best dish per our waiter), curried lamb, and more. Since I am allergic to shellfish I was left with one choice for starter (fried chicken wings) and two choices for mains (lentil curry and beef curry). The chicken was greasy and the rice dried out. The beef was good. We didn't stay for dessert.
Frozen food, warm white wine and awful service. I highly recommend not eating here.
