Boiler House Texas Grill & Wine Garden is a true Texas original. Situated in the historic Pearl Brewery complex on the San Antonio River Walk, this wine-centric restaurant occupies the former “boiler house” which powered the adjacent brewery. The menu focuses on grilled items from local farms and markets, with a focus on “Texas ranch-style” cuisine. These delicacies are paired with extraordinary wines from around the world (all available by the glass, bottle and “to-go”), full bar, live music and a casual yet energetic atmosphere. The unique list of wines boasts some of the lowest prices in the area.

The restaurant incorporates various private dining areas suitable for private or corporate functions and an expansive outdoor patio area where guests can enjoy dining alfresco. Catering is also available at the restaurant or at a location of your choice.

Sat at the bar, great service! Ribeye was one of the best we’ve had in San Antonio.

Their menu can be a little eclectic, but it is always tasty. The care the put into preparing their food is amazing. The price you pay is not for a fancy experience, but for the love they put into their food.

We live at The Pearl and Boiler House is one or our favorite go to restaurants! They have I incredible food, service, drinks, and ambiance. We love to go for lunch and get the chicken salad with any mix of their appetizers. At dinner the steaks are fantastic. It's great for any time of the day for anything from snacks to a full meal!

Perfect experience for my husband's birthday. He's been hesitant about getting out to restaurants but we had a great time sitting outside. Calming ambiance, excellent food as always, and safe distancing between seated parties. Thank you for a great evening!

PS - always get the lobster mac & cheese and green beans

Great location and service. We were seated right away and the open air and distance between tables made us comfortable. We had an exceptional server and were visited by senior staff to ensure everything was to our liking. We enjoyed diner and drinks and we will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

Food was raw and not cooked properly. Service was slow and dishes were dirty. The staff were courtesy, but very slow and not enough people in the restaurant to justify that. It took almost twenty minutes to receive water. Yet, our waiter was not working but two tables. Very disappointing. We ended up leaving without eating because of the food and dirt dishes, we paid our bill and left.

NEVER GOING BACK. We went for an early lunch and ordered an appetizer... 45 minutes later, we’d seen our waiter twice and the appetizer never came. We cancelled the order and left. As I tried to flag down the waiter to tell him, another staff member offered me a manager... but they never came. Also, they are not socially distancing their tables inside. Unsafe and absolute garbage for service, will not return!

I've been going to Boiler House since it opened. Started off very strong, but then lapsed about a year later. I stopped going because the food quality was horrible, mainly because they forgot the importance of simplicity. Every item had multiple ingredients that added nothing to the base ingredient.

Now, it's delicious again. Went there for lunch. The salmon burger and cheeseburger were both delicious and perfectly cooked. Price are reasonable, and the service was exceptional. I'll be back.

Terrible. Front house was SO rude. We walked in early because the door was propped open. A female with short black hair snapped at me and my daughters. “Ummm we are open! “ I have worked in restaurants for 6 yrs. the way I would have handled that would have been. “ good morning ladies we are not open yet just a few mins please” plus her facial expression were uncalled for. She must really hate her job to be that rude first thing in the morning.

Nice atmosphere and tasty food. For the two of us with a couple drinks each we spent 120.00.... so it is a little pricey. I expect 60-100 for this kind of experience.

We ordered a steak medium rare. We received a rare steak that was tough. My side of grits was cold like it had been in a fridge, and the waiter provided us the wrong tab. I will not be going back. They also advertised a TX craft beer menu which ended up being Lone Star. That is not craft beer.

Service was not fast, but Aminda was a great waitress. Meaning that they need to have more servers, she was running from inside and outside tables.

The food would have been tastier if they hadn't put so much dressing on my salad, and if the quiche had been hot, it was cold!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Boiler House. We were there for a restaurant week special, which included a 3 course meal for $35.00- We got the pork shank. The meal was fantastic with great portions. They have amazing margaritas there as well. My husband is a craft beer drinker (which they didn’t have a large selection) but it wasn’t a big deal. The atmosphere was wonderful with wonderful architecture.

Great for an anniversary, birthday, or date night. We will definitely be back.

The Boiler House has always been one of our favorite restaurants. I’ve always loved the variety of flavors offered in every dish. However, due to Covid-19, their menu is limited. And with the recent changes in Chefs, the consistency in the preparation could be improved upon. Nonetheless, the service is always impeccable, the ambiance is pleasant, and their steaks are always grilled as ordered and are delicious. I encourage anyone to try it and keep be mindful their even better when they have their full menu available.

Disappointing.
The best part was our service which was divided between 2 staff. Thankfully the two we had wore masks. Several others, the host and a bartender, wore bandanas which rarely covered their noses and often not their mouths. We would have loved to eat outside but the umbrella covered tables were no match for the 100 degree heat that evening.
We shared several appetizers, Meatballs, Grilled Shrimp and Quail Poppers. The Meatballs were a bit dry but the sauce on them was good and made up for it. The Shrimp just ok, not much flavor. The bacon wrapped quail were not cooked enough. The bacon was limp and the quail not tender and undercooked also. Not much selection for beer, had a canned beer from Austin and the Texas Old Fashioned tasted like a poor choice of whiskey and not much else.

Covid is a weird consideration here. Tables 6 feet apart, however seated people very close. We asked to move away. Wine list good. Food was meh! Signature popcorn was stale. Meal was Luke warm and did not have great flavor. Nothing special or anything that would say “oh I want to go back” .
