    Tucked behind frosted glass doors, and accommodating parties up to 10 beneath an impressive chandelier, our Owner’s Table offers the private dining feel your group has been looking for. Traditionally we have not guaranteed seating, but now through OpenTable Experiences, we are able to set aside a few of our best tables each night. The $5/pp fee reserves seating at one of these tables. There is a 20% service charge included, which allows us to pay a professional wage to our service teams. No additional gratuity is necessary.     Service was great, but was very disappointed in the food. Ordered the crab cake benedict which was literally a mini crab cake split in half and placed on each half of a biscuit. So small that the egg on top covered it. Once you lifted the egg, you saw a small flattened piece of crabcake. This is the first crab cake that I have ever received (benedict) of this size. Very disappointed. The mussels were good, as well as the shrimp tacos. However, the corn and jalapeno hush puppies lacked corn and jalapeno. The ambience was full of flies and unfortunately sticky floors / dirty chairs. Just really was shocked based on the reviews, etc. I will say that the server deserved the automatically included 20% service charge, as she was outstanding. Hopefully they improve on their portions and cleanliness.

    First time guest and I absolutely loved everything about my experience. My waitress Kelsey was amazing and the food was really good and the prices not to bad. I can’t wait to return again for especially for their Brussel sprouts. 5/5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ highly recommended

    Staff friendly and attentive. The food is excellent. But will someone tell them to turn down the background music down. Evey table is talking louder to get past the music!!!

    The automatic 20% tip seems to have taken all the service out of servers (at least the one we had). The "Chef Special" that I had was actually a weird concoction that I decided to try since it was featured. Mistake. It was a terrible mix of flavors and textures. I have eaten at various Boathouse restaurants in Richmond, including this one, but will not return to another again.

    Pleasantly surprised. Restaurant is attached to the mall. Our server was Carmen and she was exceptional. Great recommendations, split our salad for us , guided us on the wine selection and was spot on. Food was yummy, nice portions (same with wine). We’re on a house hunting trip so look forward to eating here again.

    We were in town one night for work. The Boathouse was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. The hushpuppies and brussel sprouts were delish as apps and every entree (burger, salmon, swordfish) were delicious. Our server, Tiffani, was awesome too! Highly recommend!

    I was disappointed with my experience in the Boathouse restaurant Short Pump. The menu had food stains, my salad was delivered without dressing which was supposed to be on the dish, my filet mignon was prepared butterflied without my consent and not correctly cooked, my string beans were delivered after the main meal and the restaurant placed an automatic 20% gratuity for 2 people on the check. This restaurant is a shell of its former self (4 years ago).

    We’ve dined at this location several times and this was our least favorite visit. We live out of town and only make it about once a year. I was very disappointed that the sushi has been removed from the menu. Our server Sawyer was OUTSTANDING but the drink runner spilled my husbands cocktail on the table losing 1/2 of the beverage and did not offer to replace it for free. Raw oysters and shrimp cocktail were very good, as were the hush puppies. Shrimp and grits tasty but only 4 shrimp seemed a little sparse. My fried shrimp were great except they were served on a bed of cabbage so by the time I made it to the last 4 the underside was soggy. I’m hoping The Boathouse was just having a bad night. We will return again and hope to have a better experience. Just a note for anyone who struggles with background noise, we were fine but I wouldn’t take anyone with ambient hearing issues would not be able to follow a conversation on the bar side of the restaurant

    Lunch today was a birthday celebration for an elder relative. The experience was wonderful...great fresh, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented food. Our server presented a "can do" attitude and accommodated a special request or two, not specifically mentioned on the menu. The casual setting, reasonably quiet space and mall view was perfect for the occcasion. The Boathouse provided a happy, new memory for our family.

    Went with close friends to celebrate our 50+ wedding anniversary. Food was good, service was generally excellent (not a busy night), and overall a good experience. Some confusion over request to not have black pepper on a dish. Understood concern if there was an allergy issue, which it was not! However, restaurant could have handled this situation better than it did. My wife was dismayed that she couldn't have the mashed potatoes if she had the salmon cooked without pepper. Then we she received her substitute for the potatoes (supposedly without black pepper) - carrots, they too had pepper on them. This was a little disappointing as we have been to this restaurant many times in the past and do not recall this issue coming up. The Restaurant could have handled this concern better than we experienced. Than an extra drink was brought to the table by the drink server which wasn't ordered. The server than brought the drink back and indicated it was to be comped and we accepted that offer. When I received our bill the cost of the extra drink was not deducted. I would not have seen this if I had not requested a paper copy of the bill. Our server than had this item removed from our check. I am not comfortable with the handling of our final check which initially was shown only in total on a hand held device. Call me old fashioned, but I do like to review my check before paying it, especially when the amount was close to $200, as I was treating the rest of our 8 person table to drinks and desserts. As I previously stated, other than these two issues, it was a pleasant experience.

    I nice evening for our family. I have one suggestion. When the food runner brings the entrees. I would have been nicer if they took the dirty bread plates away to allow more clean space on the table. Our server, Lucy, was excellent. Thank you.

    Music was loud and was not smooth. Music was Rap type which did not set the mood. I had requested a booth since it was our Anniversary but never did anyone there mentioned it at all. Did not show the attention that should have been given. Overall, not what it used to be, and the cost was not worth it. I feel that the staff does not go all out since the 20% addition was added.

    Excellent hors ​d'oeuvres (fried calamari and hush puppies), combined with excellent service. We reserved a booth in the hope of some privacy and it worked out well.

    Food was excellent, ambience was upscale and relaxed, but prices are definitely on the high side and service was only OK. Waitress was busy and we were checked on by other waitresses and managers more than by our original waitress. We were given the wrong check 2 separate times before they finally got it right. 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill, so I was expecting a bit better service. Overall a very good meal though, and I will definitely go back and try it again.

    Lucy was our professional server for an early dinner on a Thursday night. The house was pretty much empty but spirits were high among the staff making us feel welcome and right at home. The menu choices are varied though of course leaning towards the sea. One of our party is vegetarian and the Grain Bowl was more than satisfactory. Rates a return anytime you’re shopping at Short Pump.

    The good news is that the website informs you that there's a 20% "gratuity" fee attached to orders so they can pay their waitstaff a "professional" rate. Sounds good on paper, however there's no incentive for excellence. Incidentally, the bill still has a space for you to add a gratuity. The service was mediocre at best. IMHO, the Boathouse at Short Pump Towncenter has digressed to your generic mall restaurant, nothing special. Hopefully the other Boathouses have faired better.

    We have been to the boathouse often, and have loved it every time. The service is always great. Wait staff is kind and funny I went there yesterday for my husband’s 78th birthday and people couldn’t have been lovelier. We did the brunch and everyone’s meal was good, not great this time, but very good. We will be back.

    Brunch at the Boathouse was excellent. Boathouse Benedict dish was one of the best I've had. The Bloody Mary was also one of the best I've had. Kelsey was our waitress and was wonderful. Patient as we made up our minds, competent with the order, and willing to go the "extra mile" to see what kind of coffee was made. We were in the restaurant when it opened, so it was quiet and calm. But we never felt rushed and could linger as long as we wanted. All in all, an enjoyable morning with excellent food and ambience.

    Automatic service fee of 20% may make it possible for you to "pay a living wage to your servers" but it comes at the (literal and figurative) customers' expense. When an employee knows they're earning the same amount no matter the quality of their work, their work will, in almost every circumstance, suffer. I'm a customer who tips well beyond the 20% for exceptional service but believe the gratuity should reflect the experience. This customer won't be back, to any of your restaurants, and it's too bad, I used to like them quite well.

    Our reservation was ready. We had a very comfortable booth. Brunch was delicious, and we all had something different. Our server Kait was pleasant and energetic; very accommodating of any needs. Especially nice was being able to hear the conversation at our own table. All 4 of us look forward to returning.

    We have been here a few times and this time the food was not what it normally is. It wasn’t bad but didn’t have the normal wow factor. So kind of bland. Service was great and still the perfect place for a romantic dinner.

    We have been customers of the Boathouse all locations for probably 8 years. Our last 2 visits at Short zPump haven’t been the best. My daughter and I ordered steak medium but they were well done and had to be recooked the other daughter ordered salmon with a house salad and she didn’t receive the salmon until much later then her salad which was supposed to be served her entree
