Beautiful location. Kind of out of it but great view up the river and into the city. Great experience but the food was nothing special. Crab cake, shrimp were average, mashed potatoes were dry but the real thing I believe. Not sure it was worth the cost.
Family reunion. Too loud to enjoy conversation unfortunately. The ambiance is so awesome but it’s pretty expensive for what you get.
Not a good as previous visits
It was my Aunt’s birthday and she has a fabulous time!!
I proposed to my fiance there on 9/8 and they made it very memorable.
Beautiful setting. Good cocktail menu, great menu choices. We especially liked the roasted oyster flight appetizer. Prices are a little high, but food is well prepared and well presented. James was a charming and attentive server. Great special occasion place
Great feel, elegant but casual, excellent staff. Sat next to a large party so it was a little loud, but food was amazing! Drinks were perfect!
The Boathouse never disappoints. The food is always outstanding. Couple that with a great wait staff and an incredible view, what's not to like?
Wonderfully done. Staff, servers were top notch. Food was excellent
The food was adequate, not really great. Garden salad was tasteless and boring, shrimp and grits had good flavor but was watery. They brought no bread to the table other than an appetizer we had ordered. I had told them it was my birthday and was disappointed that a small desert was not offered. View is terrific
Excellent service, great cocktails and the food was superb. Thank you!
Great food, service and view. What more do you need? Excellent as always!
We made reservations to celebrate a birthday. The oysters were delicious, and the hushpuppies were crazy good. Sriracha honey butter!!! We had the shrimp and grits + the salmon dish. Very good, but don't get the salmon dish unless you really really like gouda. The service was great too. Ended with the zookie, which was a bit too sweet but a must try. Very scenic and they dim the lights in the evening. A little loud, but still nice.
The seafood was skillfully prepared. Perfectly seared scallops and the salmon was delicious. The atmosphere was upbeat and relaxed with a beautiful view looking out over the river. Afterwards we were able to walk along the river. It was a perfect evening out.
They called before we showed up asking about the special occasion and they were going to bring a dessert out for my husbands birthday. They did not bring the dessert out. However, everything else was amazing. The view. The service. The food. Everything was absolutely delicious.
Noise level very loud. Hard to have a conversation. Food & service was very good.
Fantastic Crab Cakes!! Can't beat the view! Service was great. Great service, what more can you ask for??
Waitress was amazing ...give her a raise ...polite funny created amazing rapport
Sit outside!!! Inside is nice, but felt a little more like a hotel restaurant. Being right on the river with the views, how can you not sit outside? Great wine, oyster appetizers were amazing, and seafood combo dinners were very good. Over had a lovely dinner!
What a disappointment. We've dined at the Short Pump location several time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This Rocket's Landing facility comes up short on every aspect of dinner execution and service. Upon entry we had to "run the gauntlet" as 6-7 servers stood on the ramp leading to our table. None of the servers attempted to get out of the way or excuse themselves. Seems we were an imposition to their idleness. Once seated, our server never stopped trying to up-sell us on drinks, starters and dinner selections (example, I ordered shrimp and grits...the servers pressed hard for me to add grilled scallops....what's up with that?). I started with oysters on the half shell...the fourth one was definitely old or something as it was extremely "funky" to taste. Needless to say, that one found it's way into my napkin. As for our entrees, they were plated very nicely; however, the food was very bland and less than warm but not cold. The S&G were in desperate need of seasoning and more sauce; the shrimp were under cooked. The second entree was over cooked salmon with cold stiff mashed potatoes...(wouldn't rice compliment the dish better). Dessert was out of the question...we just wanted to leave to spend our money elsewhere. After this experience, I'm trying to understand the hype with this place???...or is Boathouse Rockets Landing is living on past laurels??? Manager contact your Short Pump location and confer with them. They are running a much better operation.
Nice atmosphere even though it's was loud and hard to hear or talk without yelling. Food was bland and dry. Had to dress it up after receiving it.
Aubrey was a great waiter. Little noisy. Thought it was more of a dressy place but people were there in flip flop. Overall good experience though
The noise is a bit much. Although we got our requested table, the acoustics is overwhelmingly loud. Perhaps adding some of those ceiling acoustic drapes will help at the east end of the room as well. Other than the noise level, the boathouse is one of our favorites to bring friends and family. We just have a hard time hearing when the noise level is out of control.
Go for the ambiance and being on the water! I always want the food to be better for the prices, but still a cool spot.
We were there on a busy Friday night, but had Slow service, over cooked shrimp and dry potatoes. Dessert was tasty. View quite nice.
Our Dinner at the Boathouse was SPOT-ON. We were fortunate to have made a special request to be seated outside for the view of a beautiful sunset. We enjoyed the live music being played by Conch Republic next door. We did not feel rushed. We enjoyed our Blueberry Lemonades and our entrees and then enjoyed our dessert with the sunset. This was a wonderful dinner. Thank you.
our waitress was extraordinary. The food very good and the pricing a bit high.
The service was very good, not fine dining level. The food was excellent, well presented and plentiful. I was asked when making and confirming the reservation if we were celebrating anything. We were celebrating 2 Anniversaries and a Birthday. They did nothing special for that, so why ask?
If it weren't for the location/view, I don't think this restaurant would be very popular. When the weather is nice this is a fantastic place to enjoy a drink with a great view. The food is just okay. The simply grilled scallops (4 for $29) seemed overpriced. The mashed potatoes that accompanied all of our meals were barely warm and not as good as I make at home. Seemed like they had been sitting in a steam table and were dried out. Our server was delightful and the ambiance is nice. I'd go back to sit outside on a beautiful day and have drinks and apps but for a nice dinner I'd head elsewhere.
Our waitress was exceptional. One in our party had and unexpected allergic reaction and she went above and beyond to check on her, get her an ice pack, etc. The food has always been very good.
Great meal with beautiful views. The service was wonderful.
Service was Absolutley incredible. I asked for some special touches prior to because my husband and I were celebrating our 13 year wedding anniversary and the staff was very accommodating. The manager even came over and wished us a happy Anniversary!!
Loved this restaurant so much. Lovely view. Great table. Food was well prepared. Service was a bit slow, but overall great. Would definitely go back.
It was a great brunch. The only negative is we sat inside and it was quite warm. I’m guessing from those that go in and out for outdoor seating.
For the price, this is a great place for a nice meal with friends. Food is good, service is excellent, as is the view of downtown.
Service was acceptable but not exceptional; likewise, the food was tasty but not also not exceptional. Bartender did an unusual twist on the drink I ordered which removed the slight hint of sweetness the cocktail is supposed to have and was not to my liking. Exterior doors joining the indoor and outdoor bars were wide open which meant that the high humidity from outside was a tad oppressive at our table as the a/c couldn’t compensate fully.
Very disappointing. This was our dinner destination using the Pulse bus for the first time. While the calamari was excellent with a great sauce, it was the chicken pasta that was disappointing: two slices of very dry chicken breast in a tomato sauce with very little eggplant in the advertised caponata. No grated cheese offered nor bread. And, SO LOUD!!
I had never been here before but based on other reviews and pictures, it was chosen for a birthday dinner with my best friends. I can honestly say it couldn’t have been better. The atmosphere, the view, the food and especially the service was spot on! We never waited long for anything. Our server, Danny, was awesome! Full of personality and always taking good care of us. Our table was visited twice by two different managers asking how everything was. Nowadays your lucky to even see a manager much less have two stop by. The food was very good and all six of us enjoyed everything. Everyone had nothing but good things to say.
If you want a fun night out in a place with a vibrant atmosphere with great food, come here!
Found a bone shaving in my Filet Mignon. Granted, it was very small, but still. Filet was room temperature when I received it. Not worth the price.
Ambience, and service, was great. Unfortunately, the cost relative to food quality didn’t add up. I’ve been here before and ordered the same filet, but had better success with it. Maybe this was a one time thing? Can’t say for sure, but be aware you’re paying for the view, more than the plate.
Good enjoyable place but a little over priced for the food taste. the food was good just not special enough for the increased price. the view of the river was great.
