On Father's Day we had the pleasure to dine at the Boat Shed Lake Hume. The menu is great, it caters for some dietary requirements such as vegetarian and gluten free. The food was very good, nicely presented, and generous serves. The perfectly cooked steak came with delicious large field mushrooms which you hardly ever see in restaurants in rural towns. The customer service was exemplary. The team was professional, efficient, helpful, and just downright amazing. We haven't experienced service like that in years. Definitely returning soon.

We just had woodfired pizzas and a few beers last night, but I've had fabulous multi course meals there previously and Christmas gatherings. The menu is reliably good, the service is always cheerful, welcoming and speedy and the location on the water is wonderful.

We enjoyed our family birthday celebration at the boat shed with great service and great venue. We had thorough service and thoughtful care so no complaints there. We’ll come again for sure.

Very disappointing experience as in the past we have had good meals here. Two of us ordered the miso eggplant with chicken which was over $30. There was a small sliver of eggplant, about 1/4 cup chicken pieces, a piece of broccoli and some ginger on a mound of rice. The kid meals looked okay. But we were sat on a table with our young kids next to the television and at one point some older kids put on YouTube videos which were definitely not age appropriate. Why is there a large television with YouTube in a restaurant setting where there are kids? And after we left I realised we had been overcharged. We went on a Wednesday when kids eat free, one kids meal with each adult. We had 3 adult meals, 4 kids meals and 4 glasses of wine and paid $232. When I called to question it I was told we were charged for all of the kids meals. After waiting on hold I was told there was no way to refund it because we didn't bring it up when we were there. Then they said they would give us vouchers but first I had to send an email to the Boat Shed to ask for the vouchers. I sent an email and got a reply saying they would organise this. I then received a voucher for $50, slightly less than we were overcharged. And when I asked about it they told they had given me the voucher for the inconvenience. We were overcharged so while yes it was an inconvenience it is not as if they are being generous, they made an error and should be refunding it. Anyway overall a pretty bad experience and I wouldn't be going again. It is a shame because it is a great location and it used to be so much better.

Thank you for your feedback. We took on board your comments with the eggplant dish not being appropriately portioned - we have refined it and apologise that it was not as you expected. The TV is usually not on during dinner service - staff were keeping an eye on the kids & the videos being viewed & did not witness any age-inappropriate videos. We are limited on what we can do without the guest in front with a physical card to issue a refund. We had an event on at the time you called about the refund hence asking to email us. We were expecting 2 guests to contact us for the refund (as the bill was split in 2) & were prepared to offer both a $50 voucher ($36 for kids meals plus a little extra), but we only heard from one guest. We hope you'll re-consider & dine again. The Boat Shed Team
