I have reviewed Blu Halo a few times in the past but each time I go it just gets better. If you have not visited on a Monday and Tuesday you need to take advantage of the $25.00 3 fer (entrée, side and desert) and the $30.00 4 fer (starter, entrée, side and desert) for dinner. There is enough on the select menu to enjoy. The portions are a bit smaller which was great for me but well worth the value. So get out there and have some good foods and still enjoy happy hour libations. Check out the web site if you haven't and look under specials. You'll be very satisfied. Ask for Cindy, great server!
It was fantastic overall!! Food and server were A plus. Birthday celebration was spot on.
The eggs Benedict was very good. The Belgian waffle was cold. I had to ask for a refill on my Diet Coke. The service was slow.
Gourmet dishes prepared with artistry and taste in mind, also good happy hour specials!
We always enjoy dining at the Blu Halo. The food and service is always “tops”.
A big thanks to Reid for his excellent service.
Blu Halo is great. Tiffany is a wonderful and personable server who provided a fantastic dining experience.
We will definitely be back whenever we’re in this area!
The service was absolutely outstanding. I have been in the service Industry for over 25 years and I was extremely impressed! I hate giving back something that I order, especially if it was my fault for ordering something I didn’t like. Our waitress noticed and did not let me eat it and insisted I order something else, she said she wanted to make it right and allow me to have a great experience. That made me feel so valued as a customer. The manager came over soon after and asked how everything was and not to worry. Truly amazing and the food was fantastic. Thank you for showing me that 5 star service still exists!
Loved the brunch. It is a very nice area. Service was great. Strongly recommended. Would love to go back. The mimosas are great. Waffles and French toast were very good.
Had a party of 10, not one steak was cooked as desired and some food came out cold.
The place has an upscale vibe. I went with my college and teenage sons for a nice dinner. The dress was mostly business casual, with a few folks in shorts. Very large bar area. The menu has creative variations on typical dishes such as fried goat cheese, cantaloupe caprese. The meat was cooked to the requested temperature. The filet was good, the prime rib, meh. All the ingredients seemed fresh. The service was excellent. Overall a win.
They have a sign up that says if you’re 15 minutes late they will cancel your reservations but what happens when you’re on time and they leave you waiting for 50 minutes...nothing. Caesar salad was SO good.
Celebrated my fiancé’s 40th Birthday
We celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday here and it was FANTASTIC!!
Thank you, so much!
My fiance' and I went for the Sunday brunch since we had heard rave reviews from friends and they were right! The food was divine! We started with the Brie and toasted baguettes as our appetizer, the toasted baguettes are a bit crunchy however delicious. I had the red sangria and he had the Bloody Mary, the sangria was delicious and he said the Bloody Mary was full of flavor. He had two eggs fried over easy, served with Bradley's sausage patties and stone grits mixed with cheese. I had their waffles served with mousse and fresh fruit, the waffles were so fresh and fluffy I didn't even need the syrup. The Blu Halo's brunch is a must do!!! We will be doing it again in the future; very soon.
We have a breakfast group that meets three times a week and we attended Sunday brunch at the blu halo for the first time. We always have complaints about our food but at this visit there were no complaints which is saying a lot.
My favorite meals in Tallahassee are served here. Never once disappointed !!
I will definitely be good by back soon! I really enjoyed my brunch!
Service was sooooo slow, took 30 minutes just to get our drinks. The beef tartare was subpar at best. Overall I'm very disappointed.
Environment good but with reservations made a few days prior we were placed in small room off of major dining area. Disappointed. Appetizers ok. Entree ok. Happy hour value good. Service ok. Not really blown away but restaurant has great location.
May go back for happy hour with sooo but overall I was disappointed in experience as far as what I expected
Great food and service. Too expensive for every day dining, but it was well worth it for a special occasion or just something different.
Very nice. Delicious food . Good service.
This was our first time at the Blu Halo. Upscale decor with great service and food. I had a rib eye and my wife had the grouper. Both dishes were well prepared and presented. I was pleased that it was a relatively quiet restaurant, something I look for but don't often encounter. The only negative would be the musical selection. I wouldn't say it was bad, just not what I would have expected. Imagine well presented food, with a great wait staff, in a dimly lit room with cloth napkins and silverware with 'Lil John followed by Elton John then the Pet Shop Boys. Not necessarily bad, just odd.
This was our second visit to Blu Halo and it was outstanding. The food is great. You don't just go there to eat, you select Blu Halo for a dining experience.
Great meals and wonderful service! Had two teenage boys and they enjoyed it immensely. Always a great stop!
Did not live up to expectations and other friends and family’s prior experiences. The special occasion we were there to celebrate was totally forgotten by the hostess and server. Limited selection of steaks and those we did order were over priced and poor quality meats.
Everything was amazing. From the moment I walked in, everyone was so cordial. High end dining, adventurous combination, amazing Lobster Mac! Great cocktails. I left very happy!
Really great restaurant n Tallahassee, the food is amazing, good bar also
Food was exceptional and the venue is upscale and attractive and has a nice ambiance. I especially liked the bar. Drinks were good, fish was fresh, and dessert was scrumptious. The restaurant is located in some sort of suburban town center which feels like the Villages more than it should - not consistent with the restaurant.
Bar service a little slow and it wasn’t overly busy. Excellent food. Good service. A keeper.
Great place to dine for any occasion. Good food, good service and location
I love wine, but I know little to nothing about it. So when I saw on The Blu Halo Facebook page that they have a BOTTOMLESS wine pairing every Wednesday, I knew I had to check it out to see what all the hype was about. The first bottomless wine this past week were Beckman paired with a fried green tomato salad. The wine paired perfect with the salad! Open my mind to new flavors that I didn’t think would go well together but surprisingly did! The second bottomless wine was a wine called Eluqui (sp?) paired with a filet with some french sauce. I LOVED THE SAUCE. I wish I could remember the name but I would eat it every day. And to top everything off it the dessert was a guava cheese cake ice cream. At first I was a little reserved about guava cheese cake, more so because I’ve never even heard of guava before. BUT you will never know you like something until you try it. And it was absolutely flavorful and had the right amount sweetness without being overly sweet.
Things I loved about my visit: BOTTOMLESS WINE and food for only $42. And that the servers were very knowledgeable about the wines being served.
Wine is pretty pricey and not much selection by the glass, but otherwise Blu Halo is outstanding. We took part of our entrees home and they were delicious the next day as well. The carrot cake was outrageously good and a HUGE piece! We took part of that home as well.
Noise level might be greater on the weekend, when the bar is crowded.
We always have a wonderful evening at Blu Halo, usually shared with friends. Delicious food and great service.
If you haven’t been there yet, GO TO THE BLU HALO! My children go to school at FSU so we visit Tallahassee frequently . We have been to all of the Tallahassee “fine dining” establishments and The Blu Halo gets the prize. The food selections and presentations are magnificent but most impressive is the service. We were treated like VIPs from the moment we walked into the place. However what I realized as I spent time there and looked around was that every patron was treated like a VIP! Now that’s service!
I have been a patron of The Blu Halo for at least six prior dinners. Last evening was terribly disappointing and I will never return. The waitress must have had a troubling personal issue. From the moment she arrived at our table she was dour at best, and dismissive for most of our dinner. We were a party of eight. Most plates were cold - they were supposed to be hot - and the excuse was an inability in the kitchen to make “smashed potatoes.” The service and quality of the plates was abysmal. This used to be a very nice place, one of my favorites in Tallahassee. I would chalk it up to a bad evening but even the manager seemed unconcerned about the fiasco. If they don’t care about my patronage then they don’t deserve a second chance.
The best thing I had was the bread and butter. I tried the pasta and was not impressed granted this is pasta at a steakhouse even Outback has mastered the dish. I also tried the strawberry ice cream, it was super creamy more like a sherbet.
First time, won’t be the last. Dinner and dessert was all amazing. Service was excellent.
Again the meal was delicious and it always is! We were happy to have Cindy as our server again and again she was fabulous.
Try it you'll like it! Don't miss out on their weekday evening specials, see their web site.
Our server, Michael was excellent and very attentive to our needs.
Another great brunch at the BluHalo. The food is always served promptly, hot and with great service.
Thank you Mary for your great service and we look forward to our next visit.
