Great food. Drew our bartender and server was kind, knowledgeable of the menu, and very accommodating. Definitely will be back.
The service, drinks and food were amazing !
Blackwall Barn and Lodge is a cozy place with great food and the service was perfect. Not an issue here. No wait time. We were taken care of from start to finish and the experience was wonderful. The food is the best around. Nothing about this place I don't enjoy going to over and over.
Hot crab dip was great. Steak special was perfectly cooked. A bit expensive, but a nice treat. The place is very cool. Can't wait to go back and sit in a 'cow' chair in front of a fire. Nikki was our server and very pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive without being bothersome. She knew we were old friends catching up and took cues when we needed something.
It was my birthday.
Excellent food and service. Great place to come for any occasion.
Great dinner experience.
My “go2” that never disappoints. Great place for quick cocktail and appetizer or full meal.
very nice restaurant, great choice for anyone. Great Service, Would highly recommend
We were excited about dining at this restaurant for our 29th anniversary. We indicated it was our anniversary on our reservation. Our anniversary was not acknowledged in any way. We were seated in an area of the restaurant with no intimacy. When asked to be moved, the hostess did so, but indicated that WE needed to have requested special seating. She said they would give us an anniversary dessert. No such dessert was offered. Good food, but the customer service was lacking.
Everything was wonderful, I can't wait to visit again.
This is a must visit restaurant in a very usual area, with service at the highest level above what you have ever experienced in this day and age. You would not expect to find such an awesome restaurant in this area.
The customer friendly service was equal to the food presentation, freshness and excellent taste!
Our waitress was amazing and so was the food.
Came here for a ladies group lunch, wonderful service and amazing food, we keep coming back!
We had a great meal experience by the fireplace! It was a lovely night
Perfect evening and place for our anniversary dinner!
Great food, great service, great ambiance.
Good food, nice ambiance.
Picked this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversay and our overall experience was horrible. It took one hour from the time we sat down to get food. Never received bread after we were told it was in the oven several times (turns out it never was). Appetizers were delivered to the table at different times. Also received entrees at different times. Returned one meal - steak was well-done and lacked seasoning, but was ordered medium-well. All food was delivered lukewarm. Overall, the quality of the food did not match the value. Very disappointed.
Great atmosphere and food. Prices are a bit higher than comparable restaurants.
Food and service were very good
I visited The Blackwall Barn and Lodge on September 26, 2021 with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed everything about the restaurant. From the cocktails until paying our bill, everything was done very timely. I ordered the Shrimp and Scallop Risotto. It was quite tasty. My friend ordered the Branzino and enjoyed her meal too. Our waiter was Emma, a very poised and competent young woman. I am looking forward to returning to The Blackwall in the near future.
It was a great experience for restaurant week
When seated we were given menus. Gave our order for appetizers. Appetizers came to table and we had no silverware. Asked waiter and he said the are washong and we will get first as soon as done. This happened as we had dood on table to eat. Other then thos issue our server was awesome and we showed by our tip but we would highy go back again
Food not available.. chicken and waffles not available
We have never had a bad meal. Their dessert and drinks are always on point.
The service is incredible! Even more so post pandemic where so many restaurants are short staffed and hiring first time wait staff and it shows.
I asked where ladies room was and the hostess didn’t just point but walked me to it. The server was attentive without being overbearing and the drinks and food were delicious and presented well.
GreAt night in a beautiful atmosphere. Waitress was fantastic
What an absolutely wonderful restaurant! This was our second time there and just like the first time it was a great experience. You must try the burrata salad - best I’ve ever had!!! The calamari came with a sweet chili sauce and an aioli - both delicious. I love shrimp and grits and their take on it was unique and yummy. We will definitely visit again.
Generally very good. Need to provide blue cheese dressing.
Had a wonderful experience, the service, food and staff were great. I look forward to my next visit.
The restaurant was recommended by a neighbor so we decided to try it. Although located in a rather out of the way space, the Barn is quite dramatic and attractive. Parking was easy and free. The inside is huge with several different eating areas including an outdoor space that looked great but was full. Service was slow and spotty as was the food. In their price point, I expected high quality and was mostly disappointed. Fried green tomatoes consisted of but two different size slices. Gazpacho was sweet (not to my liking) and really small for $10. Entrees were better but my shrimp and grits was mediocre at best. Desserts were the best part of the meal. For a nearly $300 bill for four, I expected better.
The hostess were nice and professional. Megan, the waitress was informative about the food and drink selections. The bread received with my appetizer was burnt, and the wings were overfried/overcooked so they were not enjoyable. Also, the beef rib was fatty; therefore, most of it went to waste. The Apple cinnamon bread pudding was dry, bland and simply not worth the money. Additionally, we also had to discard some of the food because there are a lot of flies on the terrance, and they were landing on the food so I discarded the food that was affected.
The entire visual experience of this restaurant met at the expectations I saw online it doesn't matter what business was here previously this current establishment has made it its own. Their drinks are unique their flavors stand out and there are a number of options to hold special events
We were hoping for a true farm-to-table experience and left feeling like we ate an overpriced chain restaurant.
The food was very good to excellent. It is easy to recommend it just for that but our service including being seated at a table with the sun beating on us was so so.
The ambiance was absolutely everything!! Aesthetically pleasing, the food, drinks and staff were all A+ from the hostess to servers. We were seated right away, drinks and food were served quickly and was hot. We were seated outside in the patio area were there was a full bar, projection TV,s and flat screens. There were also private cabanas!!! Definitely will be back
I recommend the chef season the food better. We did not enjoy the flavor of the brunch menu and were grateful to have the meal comped as a result. I will give them time to replace the chef before returning, as the place is beautiful and the variety of offerings is good...just lacked flavor.
Everything was perfect!
