The Blackbird Restaurant is a Chef Owned Restaurant serving local, fresh ingredients. The Blackbird’s goal is to delight guests with cooking grounded in the traditions and ingredients of the Carolinas creating an unique and vibrant menu – New American with Southern Flares.

The menu features the seasonal best from local farmers, fresh catches from the coast of the Carolinas, incredible local micro-brews, specialty cocktails, and great wines from the around the world. Our menu changes seasonally to reflect the bounty of the area and the chef’s creativity. The Blackbird’s award-winning food, desserts and prompt service will impress you every time.

We are located in the heart of downtown Asheville, on Biltmore Ave. You can find us at the corner of The Aloft Hotel.

Parking Garage is located at the back on Lexington Ave. The first hour is free.

    The wait staff was friendly, that is the only compliment I have. It was so loud I could barely talk to my date 2ft infront of me. It was a little busy and it looked like our waitress wasn’t having a good night, and we didn’t like being scoffed at when declining dessert. For a $150 meal we were more than disappointed. Bone marrow appetizer had a very off putting taste, and smell was awful, did not finish. Neither of our main course meals were hot, they were warm at best. My braised beef meal was alright, my dates meal was not good at all, risotto with trout/scallops; trout was gamey and dry, scallops had a very bouncy texture, nothing had flavor. We stopped and got food elsewhere as soon as we left. Would not return and do not recommend

    Haven’t been to Blackbird for a while, but went last night after a movie. The food is so consistently good! My husband had the pork chop, which was really phenomenal. I was a bit disappointed that duck wasn’t on the menu, but ordered chicken instead. It was very good. Our salads (beet/zucchini and arugula/pear) were great. Service was great also!

    For a special evening out, this can be a great place. The night we were there the service was a bit spotty and we never actually felt welcomed. The food was quite good, except for dessert. I expect that as things start getting back to normal in Asheville things will continue to improve at the restaurant.

    We participated in Restaurant Week and chose the available foods from the special menu. The food was fresh and the taste and texture were not overpowering. Our server appeared to be performing more than one job, but was very friendly. Other staff were prompt with delivering the food. The noise level was moderate but as expected in an older building with high ceilings. There were multiple sound deflection panels. Overall, we enjoyed our meal.

    Food was delicious and the atmosphere was quiet and welcoming. Took advantage of the January restaurant month special which was a decent deal. Was the perfect place to celebrate a quiet birthday.
