The menu features the seasonal best from local farmers, fresh catches from the coast of the Carolinas, incredible local micro-brews, specialty cocktails, and great wines from the around the world. Our menu changes seasonally to reflect the bounty of the area and the chef’s creativity. The Blackbird’s award-winning food, desserts and prompt service will impress you every time.

We are located in the heart of downtown Asheville, on Biltmore Ave. You can find us at the corner of The Aloft Hotel.

Parking Garage is located at the back on Lexington Ave. The first hour is free.

Service was friendly but a bit haphazard. The restaurant is priced as an exclusive restaurant which is why we chose it to celebrate our anniversary. The decor is pretty ordinary. Food was OK but it was not the fine dining experience we had expected.

Such a pleasant dinner at Blackbird in celebration of my birthday! I wish I could have ordered one of everything on the menu – it was a tough choice. The vegan/vegetarian options are outstanding and truly delicious. We ordered the corn goat cheese pie and the gnocchi; The porkchop was also incredibly tasty. We were a bit disappointed that the kitchen was out of several dishes at 7:30pm on a Tuesday, though. Two of our first picks were 86’d by time we sat down. Thankfully, the server helped us choose solid second choices. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor that can be hard to find in fine dining in Florida.

The food was wonderful but our server was even better. Took a minute to catch on that he had an amazing sense of humor. He really should do stand up. He took special care of us. It was a 40th birthday celebration and he was the icing on the cake. The smoked trout was subtle, the shrimp and grits rich and hardy. The cuban and mushroom pressed sandwiches were to go back for. Drinks perfect

Great food and nice atmosphere. Asheville is still at 75% capacity so restaurant was a little empty. For Sunday brunch it was reservation only.

I can assure you that all my staff are friendly, capable workers that show the utmost respect to everyone. Hello, it's unfortunate that you think the food and service was not up to standards. As for the portion and price they are directly related to the quality of food I get, the location and how I pay people, I know some people don't always understand that but it's true. Thank you for the feedback on the food and service, we will keep working on that. As for the portions and price I will not be lowering the quality of my products, change location or pay less, that is something I will not do. Thanks

We came to Blackbird for brunch while visiting from out of town. This is my third dining experience here, because my last two visits were fantastic. The service was good, but we were a bit disappointed that the food was cold when we got it. Everything tasted good, just cold. The Bloody Mary was tasty and the Irish coffee was great.

This place is so cool. My wife and I did the tasting menu. What a good choice! Wine paired with the six courses--unreal value! Food great, service better and overall experience great. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Here for a solo dining experience at the bar. Cocktails and food were fantastic! The bartender was friendly, but a bit overworked.

The best thing about our meal was the cracklings! They came out so crispy and still crackling. We all had a special of the day, a pulled pork sandwich with jalapenos and grilled onions on it. It was very messy but tasty. The side salads that came with the sandwich had very fresh greens but we could not detect any dressing on them. The unsweetened iced tea was excellent.

Excellent dining experience. Lamb cottage pie was out of this world delicious. Trout and scallops were exceptional.
We had a bottle of Blackbird red blend and after decanting it was perfect with our meal.
Great service, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Good prices too.
Lovely time.

My wife and I shared a vegetarian dish and trout/risotto. The trout was overcooked and dry and we could't eat the vegetarian dish. Service was good and the atmosphere was fine. The table next to ours was noisy and a little too close.

Salmon was recommended but we didn’t think a restaurant in Asheville would serve good salmon. We should have listened. We chose the beef tenderloin and it was tough and grainy, a bad piece of meat. The salad with Brie and apples was delicious.

Hello, it is unfortunate that you did not like the tenderloin,  Its 100% Grass fed and we do get it from some great regional farms  it tends to not be as marbled as other beef you may have had, so maybe it's something you don't like. Hopefully next time you get the Salmon, we get what has been considered the best salmon in the world ( UK-Scottish) when I can't get king salmon which was not available when you dined in. Thank you for the review. I hope in the future you enjoy your food more.

We had the Chef’s Tasting Menu and Wine Pairing. It was incredible! The service was excellent. I would have liked a little more description of each of the dishes. This would have made it a five star plus rating! But that certainly didn’t take away from our enjoyment.

The only reason I gave 4 stars for ambiance instead of 5 was that it was pretty chilly inside. The AC could have been turned down a little. And there was a lot of street noise (obviously NOT their fault as it is obvious when you make a reservation that this is a Main Street in town location). So if you are looking for a very quiet intimate place this wouldn’t be it. But a fairly quiet relaxed atmosphere with five star food it IS!

Had a great meal. Had a variety of options which all sounded interesting and delicious. The coffee was also really good and the was were really nice and friendly. Came for breakfast, but would also love to try dinner.

Hello I'm sorry you did not like the food and I hope you know that line cooks are people and they make mistakes, also please let your server know that you did not like the food in the future and they can fix it or not have you pay for it. I'm sorry this even has to be said but to degrade my line cooks hard work by saying their food is not worth a dogs meal is super disrespectful and I hope you treat people with a bit more compassion and respect in the future.

Farro salad was incredible. Scallops tasted a little funky and were sent back. Ended up with the vegetable Wellington which was good but not great. We loved our server initially but then she seemed to forget about our table.... so much so that we passed on coffee and desserts as 30 plus minutes passed before she came to ask about dessert.

Unique cocktails, beautiful and delicious menu items. Great service! We shared the cheese and meats boards and the staff was happy to split plates for us. Every detail was superb.

The restaurant was decorated in theme with the name and the mood was perfect. Our food came out in a timely manner. We shared a half and half Butcher Board and Cheese Boars to start, great variety and filling. I ordered the Market Ribeye and my husband ordered the Pork Chop and both were absolutely mouth watering and tender. Would highly recommend.

It was almost an hour between out salad and entre. The waiter let my wife taste two wines to help her decide which she wanted, but then it took 15 min to bring it out to her. The food was good, but nothing special. I thought all the prices were excessive.

Overall decent food but poor service. We dined outside due to covid precautions. There was no special outdoor dining patio, just a few tables scattered on the sidewalk. After we were seated, 20 minutes passed and no one came outside to check on us or take our order. We had to go in and alert the hostess; it seemed like they forgot about us. We waited another 30 minutes for our appetizers. The food was very flavorful; however, several dishes were barely warm.

Thank you for your feedback, It is unfortunate that you did not like our outdoor seating, due to Covid we have had to change our restaurant to survive like so many others.  We thank everyone for being so understanding of that fact. As for your server and the lack of attention he gave you is unexpectable and I will be dealing with that today. I would like to reiterate that is not the normal behavior of our staff and we would love it if you would give us another try.

Our evening at BlackBird was great. We really appreciated that the restaurant had spaced tables in accordance with COVID protocols. The food was great. My husband had the trout and scallops. The scallops were amazing! I had the seafood pirlau..Lots of great seafood, including plenty of mussels and clams! Service was great.
