The Blackbird Restaurant is a Chef Owned Restaurant serving local, fresh ingredients. The Blackbird’s goal is to delight guests with cooking grounded in the traditions and ingredients of the Carolinas creating an unique and vibrant menu – New American with Southern Flares.

The menu features the seasonal best from local farmers, fresh catches from the coast of the Carolinas, incredible local micro-brews, specialty cocktails, and great wines from the around the world. Our menu changes seasonally to reflect the bounty of the area and the chef’s creativity. The Blackbird’s award-winning food, desserts and prompt service will impress you every time.

We are located in the heart of downtown Asheville, on Biltmore Ave. You can find us at the corner of The Aloft Hotel.

Parking Garage is located at the back on Lexington Ave. The first hour is free.

    Don’t waste your money on the bone marrow or duck breast. They were just OK. Very little marrow for $19 and some of the duck was too chewy. The pork chop was a standout as was the side of brussel sprouts. Lovely arugula salad too. Good presentation.

    Modern, chic, light interior. We tried the Chef's tasting menu with wine pairing, and it was very good, but the timing was off; the courses didn't flow, because there was too much time between them. This is the hallmark of a chef, if you can't do it right, take it off the menu. The substituted heirloom tomato gazpacho was really good and perfect for the weather, paired with a Pinot Grigiot. This was followed by grilled mushrooms, lots of flavor, but tough., still paired well with a Ken Wright Pinot Noir. The scallop was excellent and paired with a Chablis. The trout was also very good, but the accompanying red rice was undercooked. The braised beef and grits was okay; it should have been more tender.

    One of the finest meals w have ever had. The warm welcome from our server Alyssa was a precursor to a meal that was sensational. My wife is writing a sonnet about it. Our only regret is we couldn't finish the bountiful delight.

    Waited thirty mins to place a drink order. When it arrived I received a mini-pour of wine for $16. The salmon with lentils special was overcooked salmon and undercooked lentils. Very disappointing especially for the bougie prices.

    An excellent dinner - food, service, and experience. We ordered the chef’s tasting menu for our party and were pleasantly surprised at the variety of courses and delicious flavors. Our server was also tending bar and was so attentive to detail and pleasant in every interaction. We can’t wait for our next visit to Asheville as this is a must for us again. 5 stars on everything.

    We had the olive bread as an appetizer, vegetarian Wellington, and the goat cheese corn pie. All were great, but the corn pie was an absolute work of art in it's presentation and flavor profiles. I'm not a vegetarian, but I would certainly order that next time.
