It was great
Great service from the start to the end. Staff was fantastic.
We loved our meal and had a great time.
Great food and service. Excellent food presentation! Just a little pricey, but worth it for special occasions.
Excellent experience with good quality food and service. Don't hesitate to book this experience.
Great menu - lots of vegetarian options. Would highly recommend.
Waited 1 hour 15 minutes for our food to come out. Tables that arrived after us received their food and left before we received ours. The manager apologized for our wait about 30 minutes into our wait. After an hour our server let us know the our ticket got “mixed up” and that’s why it took so long. They didn’t offer us anything to snack on or comp our bill (which was the only thing that arrived quickly to our table). I understand restaurants getting backed up, but this was beyond being busy, our order was clearly skipped.
The main problem with the experience was that the staff rolled multiple carts heaped with garbage past our table while we were eating, it was really loud and very unappealing. We had one of the later reservations of the night but many other tables were also still dining when the end of night garbage parade started through the dining room and out the front door.
The food & waitstaff service was good. For the cost, we had hoped it would be a great experience but I wouldn’t go back.
Service, food and drink was amazing
Amazing location with great ambiance. Blackbird signature cocktail is a must. Servings are smaller sized however great for trying a few different items.
I had high hopes, especially after reading other positive reviews. The disappointments started almost immediately. The food was plain, without any real taste. I ordered the 6 oz Filet, done medium rare. The quality of meat was poor. It was chewy, and needed much more seasoning. For $42.00, I expected something fabulous. My husband had the Pork Chop. It was overcooked, tasting dry and bland.
Overall, a bad experience that was very unfortunate.
Hello It's unfortunate that your food was over cooked and under seasoned, As the chef I wish you had said something to your server so we could remake it to your liking or get you something new. If you would like to try us one more time, I would love to get you to love the food as so many others do.
Slow service. French fries were cold, sandwich was lukewarm.
Great flavor, ambiance and service
The atmosphere and service was great. Great vegetarian and vegan options,, which is why we went. Food portions were small for entree and not consistent. The server misunderstood our request and only brought out a half serving of mushroom risotto that had good flavor but dry...when she brought out the additional portion...it looked completely different with no flavor but extremely wet.
Really nice place at a great location. We had a reservation and were seated minutes after we arrived. Our server got to us quickly and kept the ball rolling smoothly through out the meal, until dessert- see below.
The scallops appetizer was delicious! The goat cheese corn pie was also delicious. The lamb cottage pie was disappointing but luckily there was no cottage in it. The Blackbird crisp had nothing crispy in it but there were lots of sweet, plump blue- and blackberries and some ice cream.
Service was very friendly but only adequate. The only complaint to note is a minor dessert confusion that caused us to cancel one of two desserts ordered because we shared the crisp and finished it before the other item was brought to us. At that point we could eat no more. They wound up not charging us for either dessert.
Thank you for the feedback, I'm not really sure I understand the issue you had with the cottage pie but I will look at how the cooks were preparing it that night.
Delicious food selection. Very good, unique drink menu. Love the ambiance.
Thank you so much!!!
We did the 6 course tasting menu with the wine pairing and it was fantastic! All of the food was prepared well and went great with the wines.
Really poor, the cottage pie was quite greasy really did it taste good at all
Great food great server and staff. Noise level only issue.
Rama was our server and he was wonderful.
My date and I both thought our dishes were excellent
Excellent. Trout risotto was wonderful as was the brie and fruit starter. Strong wine selection. Highly recommend.
Great Thank you!!
I cannot wait to go back! The food and the drinks were wonderful
Thank you so much!!
Wonderful little place, the Salmon was probably the best we've had. The starter thai green beans was a very large order, more suited for a side dish, otherwise everything was great! Atmo, Food, Service... will be back!
Waitstaff was delightful; however, the food portion and quality simply wasn’t worth the amount I paid.
Absolutely gorgeous atmosphere! Fantastic food!
Very tasty food and drinks, excellent service
We were really unhappy with our experience. We had a reservation and when we came in, the whole vibe just felt off the hostess was young but working incredibly hard and there were several older servers that were really rude to her as she was trying her absolute best to get people seated. Mind you, she was also bussing tables, too. We only ordered an appetizer because we didn’t want to stay. When we left, two people we’d never met, asked us if we’d just left the same restaurant because they had too because they waited 45 minutes to be waited on. No drinks, nothing. Actually, a server came over and asked if they could take their water from their table and give it to another guest. We just all were really displeased with the service. Will not be returning any time soon. I can handle and truly understand when a place is busy and service may be slow, but communication is always key. At least TELL us you’ll be around to wait on us, or smile, or work together with your other co workers.
Hello I see you enjoyed your food we are so happy to hear that! I Appreciate that you are looking out for her. The host that night is a friend of the family. She loves her job and the staff. She is part of a staff that cares and looks out for her every night and to base how she is treated over one single experience with no context is inappropriate and inaccurate. As for the rest of the review please keep your reviews to your experiences not someone you meet afterwards. Again Thank you
Our dinner started out with the hostess crying. Our waitress was nothing special. She did not let us know that there would be a hour+ wait for our food. She put our steak plate down saying we are out of potatoes, do you like grits? The restaurant was out of many things. The scallops were way over seasoned and inedible. Very disappointing.
I'm really unhappy to hear that you experience was not up to my standards, I will be talking to the staff and the managers to get this resolved, it was a holiday weekend and we can run out of stuff and it's sometimes even harder to get supplies because of covid but that is not an excuse for your experience. Please stop in for another try and we will make it up to you.
These people should not be in the restaurant business. Disaster of a meal. 2+hours and still were waiting on food. Out of basic alcohol and decent restaurant bar would stock. Noise level was incredibly high. Will never return. This isn’t a one time thing…have since heard from others that had a bad experience. It’s too bad because the quality of the food we did get was decent.
AnonymousReviewed 9/6/2021·Visited 9/6/2021 Absolutely gorgeous atmosphere! Fantastic food! AnonymousReviewed 9/6/2021·Visited 9/6/2021 Very tasty food and drinks, excellent service From the same night!!! It's unfortunate that you had a bad experience, but my staff is amazing and they do a great job. For a customer to imply that they should lose their jobs because of a bad night is appalling, I hope in the future you have a bit more tact and respect.
Excellent food. Creative and delicious.
We visited Asheville over the labor day weekend. We had fine meals at all the establishments we visited. The Blackbird was by far our favorite and best meal of the all. Thank you
The restaurant was extremely busy and the staff was overwhelmed. Worried that our lunch order would be very slow to arrive, we drank our glass of wine and left.
You did not eat here. How can you give a restaurant a one star on food if you did not eat? You made an independent decision to leave without eating, based on an assumption you made. It's not fair to take that out on this Family restaurant. Thank you
Service was extremely slow. Needed more wait staff!!
Food was not memorable in any good way,The Caesar salad could hardly be called a Caesar and the Salmon was not done right, I live in Seattle so I know Salmon and it was not done correctly. The food is trying to be something but in trying it is losing the battle, too much going on, simpler better tastes would make the place a winner.
We make our Caesar Salad for greens grown from one of my staff member's farms (Rama) and yes it is not the unhealthy Romaine lettuce, I'm sorry if that upsets you but I believe that the house made caesar dressing should go on a delicious lettuce that is grown 15 min away. As for the salmon if it was over or undercooked I would hope that you said something so we could fix it. If not I'm so sorry but if my line cook made a mistake and you said nothing how would we know. Thank you for the Feedback.
We ate the chefs table meal. It was a full 6 courses and was great. Server was outstanding.
Incredible experience and even better food! If you’re a “foodie” this will definitely scratch that itch!
We ate outside and enjoyed the excellent food and service as well as watching all the tourists bustling about.
This is a hidden gem! This is a farm to table restaurant with phenomenal original dishes.
We enjoyed a perfect martini 🍸 followed by a 6 course tasting menu. Make an early reservation to be sure it is still available. Only $48 w/o wine pairings $ $78 with wine. Josh, our server, was delightful & paced the meal perfectly.
Delicious from start to finish!
