The Blackbird Restaurant is a Chef Owned Restaurant serving local, fresh ingredients. The Blackbird’s goal is to delight guests with cooking grounded in the traditions and ingredients of the Carolinas creating an unique and vibrant menu – New American with Southern Flares.

The menu features the seasonal best from local farmers, fresh catches from the coast of the Carolinas, incredible local micro-brews, specialty cocktails, and great wines from the around the world. Our menu changes seasonally to reflect the bounty of the area and the chef’s creativity. The Blackbird’s award-winning food, desserts and prompt service will impress you every time.

We are located in the heart of downtown Asheville, on Biltmore Ave. You can find us at the corner of The Aloft Hotel.

Parking Garage is located at the back on Lexington Ave. The first hour is free.

    This was undoubtedly the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in Asheville. I have lived here 8 years and have never been treated as poorly as we were last night. This was our 25th wedding anniversary and we were there to celebrate. The service was agonizingly slow, impersonal and just bad. The thing that topped off the entire experience at Blackbird was after our main course dishes were cleared from the table the server dropped the check on the table without asking if we were finished. We were intending on ordering dessert, my wife’s favorite part, but never got the chance. What a terrible disappointment on a very significant day. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. You will be very disappointed if you do.

    Food was edible but nothing memorable. Won’t be back. In a City full of great restaurants, no need to put up with mediocre food. Service was ok but this restaurant was easily $100 pp and definitely not worth it.

    Wonderful! Would recommend and would go again! Service was great, we were able to relax and enjoy a delicious meal. The environment is hip, comfy and inviting yet minimalist. Great!

    Our waiter was fantastic. We believe his name was Aaron but we aren’t sure. I referred to him as Mr.Asheville if there was ever such a competition. He was down to Earth, handsome in a cool, eclectic way, nice and respectful. Young man with a good head on his shoulders…well-grounded. Why does this matter at a restaurant? Because he represented the very cool area well and made a great experience for my husband and me (Suzie) as he made great suggestions for wine and even gave us a wine tasting. As I was having a hard time deciding what to order, he made good suggestions. All worked out really well. Perfectly actually. The seafood risotto was great. The braised beef was tasty. Wine excellent! Loved all elements of this restaurant. Will be back!

    Excellent experience at The Blackbird for brunch. Our server was outstanding:, cheerful, knowledgeable, attentive. The coffee was also outstanding, best I have had in a very long time. And the food was wonderful - fresh, delicious and attractive on the plate. Highly recommend, and hope to get there often!

    Enjoyed our early dinner. Bone marrow app, trout & scallop risotto and braised beef. All prepared well with fresh ingredients. Service was friendly and available when we needed them. Overall delightful meal.
