   We went here to celebrate our anniversary with another couple. The wait staff were attentive and accommodating and the food was excellent each course explained as to how it was prepared and where it came from, a lot of it locally purchased. Unfortunately it was so noisy that we couldn't hear our friends across the table. For the price we were expecting a little better ambience. For this reason, I will not be returning.

   As usual, amazing personable and hilarious servers. Beautifully presented, visually appetizing and delicious, multi-faceted textural plates. It never ceases to amaze me whenever a plate is set down. I did find the service slightly non-attentive as we were without water for sometime and had to ask for a refill, and the timing of the food coming out was a bit off, and slow. If both could be tuned, it would be 5 stars. We were there for a birthday and at the end the server surprised the birthday guest with a beautiful pink rose from the local florist down the street. A+++. That made her day. Thanks so much for a great dining experience, and incredible value for a three-course meal in the beautiful town of Carleton Place.

   Wow! I cannot express how amazing our experience was. Date night was much overdue and after eating we are so glad on our choice to dine at Black Tartan. Beautiful plates and all local food in various places of Ontario. Absolutely amazing, thank you to everyone who served us! Highly recommend.

   Food was excellent as was the service. Casual but yet unique to each table. Would definitely recommend for those foodies out there....

   We had a wonderful experience at the Black Tartan. Delicious and decadent flavours from the appetizers to dessert. Presentation was exceptional. Host was friendly and informative.

   The food was amazing!! The service was also amazing!! They weren't pushing us to hurry. It was a great atmosphere and the food was next level!!

   Food was great but it came very slow which we went for Saturday brunch. We were the second table arrived for only few tables being served. Only one lady working and she is very helpful and explain clearly.
