Food and service absolutely fantastic. It’s weird to leave the Strip for a 20 minute Uber to a strip mall, but everyone agreed it was the best meal of the week. Jamie came out to say Hello, which really made my Top Chef fan friends happy. Great night.
Wait time was over an hour. I had an allergy to certain food and was told there could be no alternatives, unfortunately it can’t be changed was the verbiage used. Best listed menu item was not available. Reasonably price.
I would give it a five star but I was disappointed because we went there for the salmon skin taco, but they were sold out by the time we get there, so we didn't get to taste it. The chef is very creative, and everything tasted great.
The food was delicious. The short rib was the best dish we had.
Birthday celebration. The food was great and the owner was awesome!
This was easily the best food in Vegas. Pretty sure.
Dinner for 12 was amazing. Staff accommodated our family. We were visiting from Texas and made a special birthday trip to visit Top Chef Jamie’s restaurant. Erin our server was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and wines. She rocked it! Pew Pew! It’s only the second time in about 20 years of going to Vegas annually we have ventured off the strip. (The other for Lotus of Siam. ) Well worth the trip. Food was excellent and different with Chefs background influence. We tried just about everything on the menu and loved it all. Its also very reasonably priced. the same menu on the strip would have been much more expensive. Custom bar drinks were good. Nice selection of bottled wine that were priced right for us to have several! Family devoured chocolate tres leches and crime brûlée for desert . Highly recommend!
Good experience & nice to have an off Strip, high quality dining experience for locals.
Food Ambiance service was amazing! I won’t hesitate to come back with friends!
Great food and amazing server, Hunter! A great night out
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Las Vegas. The seasonal menu rotations are inspired and always appreciated. Hunter's service is spot on and we will be requesting him each time we come back.
My favorite- rainbow trout! Scallion pancakes and hot chicken appetizers were delightful. Happy hour now includes ONLY bar and selected wines. No food.
Amazing flavors of South East Asia make my favorite dishes seem new and exciting. A very focused menu allows you to step into the chef's wheelhouse with every dish delivering on it's promise. Exceptional service with deep understanding of the dishes round out a top-notch experience. Highest possible recommendation!
Service was great, and food was very good, but not quite up to the expectations held after reading and seeing television reviews. I would go again, though it’s a little difficult getting a reservation.
Great restaurant, with great food and great service. It was great meeting the chef and I loved my short ribs.
We came to The Black Sheep since we were in Las Vegas for a short vacation and made plans to visit as we are avid Top Chef fans. Very unassuming outside. Lovely set up and decor on the inside. Our server made a lot of wonderful recommendations after perusing the menu online and looking at reviews online of what others ate. We had wonderful house cocktails - The Deep Blue Sea and I Heard a Rumor. Both were refreshing and tasted great. We had the Pear Salad (recommended by our server) and were glad we did. Another refreshing start outside of the cocktails. Second starter was the Bao Sliders - was definitely not your traditional bao but worth the try. We finished with the fried whole rainbow trout. The sauce was delicious and came deboned, but with head and tail on - how whole fish should be served. Jaime Tran is most definitely a Top Chef and her food is amazing. She was kind enough to come and speak with us and took a picture and joked with us. She was busy, tired, but took a moment for her fans which was greatly appreciated. If you want a Top Chef experience in Las Vegas away from the strip and not pretentious with amazing food and drinks go to The Black Sheep.
Absolutely a must stop in Vegas. Chef Jamie Tran was just on the latest season of Top Chef and came in 4th....she should have won. I especially wanted to taste the salmon skin tacos but sadly they were out. The outstanding dish for us was the grilled octopus....WOW!!!! The complexity of the flavors and textures was unreal and the octopus melted in our mouths. Also tried the crispy beef, bao bun sliders and duck confit. All were wonderful. Chef Tran graciously came out and took a picture with me and my husband. All around amazing experience.
Outstanding - well worth the cab ride from the Strip.
The fried beef crisps were magical, and the braised lamb belly was excellent.
So excited to eat Jamie's amazing food after seeing her on Top Chef. You can taste her joy! The pear salad and short rib were fabulous. Can't wait to return to try the scallion pancakes and whole trout!
This was awesome!! Such good food, wait staff, and chef!
What a fantastic place! Met chef Jamie, which was so fun! The food was delicious. Highly recommend.
Black Sheep is my favorite restaurant. Food and service always AMAZING! Delicious dishes with bold flavors and excellent cocktails, you can’t miss. The staff are so welcoming and make you feel like family. My husband and I love this place and so will you.
My friend and I made the trek from the Strip out to The Black Sheep, in an unassuming strip mall, and we would gladly do it over and over again. The food was so good that, upon taking the first bites of our entrees, we held hands. Flavors, portions, service. Everything was just so great. I can't move to Vegas, but if I did, I'd want to live near The Black Sheep so it could become my local hangout.
The food and drinks were phenomenal! Great atmosphere. Relaxed and the staff were super friendly
Great food and great service! Chefs even came out to greet customers!
Experience was wonderful! Service and food were both excellent
Food was top chef as to be expected
Wish wasn’t so far from strip as cab costs as much as dinner. That said how lucky are locals to have such an amazing place to go and eat world class food for such a great price that is NOt in the middle of the strip! Can’t wait to go back. Chef has created an amazing menu and would love to visit seasonally to see how it changes. The cocktails were creative too
Great food and service. Their team moves like a clockwork machine. Chef did not make an appearance in dining room - and let's be honest - half the diners are there to catch a glimpse of Jamie.
I was so excited to try Jamie Tran’s food (big Top Chef fan) and it did not disappoint! We ordered about half of the appetizers and both desserts (horchata crème brûlée and a chocolate cake) and everything was delicious. My favorite apps were the steak tartare and the scallion pancakes. Delicious flavors and fresh ingredients. If I lived nearby I’d be a regular!
My husband and I had dinner here. I looked forward to eating here, because I am a big fan of Top Chef and Jamie Tran. We weren’t disappointed.
My husband and I had the short ribs. It was so tender and delicious. I have ordered short ribs at other restaurants, but these were the best I have ever had. For dessert, we had the horchata creme brûlée and chocolate tres leches cake. Both were a wonderful way to end our meal.
Our waiter gave us excellent service and good input on the entree and desserts. I was such a groupie and Jamie was so nice to take a picture with me. She sets the pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant.
I highly recommend this restaurant and plan to return when in Vegas.
Delicious. I was unsure do to the pickling on most items but it wasn't too much. Everything we ordered was outstanding. Suggestions- spring rolls and sliders for apps, the short rib or lamb belly for the main. So good.
Simply delicious. Wanted to order one of everything but ordered the whole trout (exceptional), the salmon skin tacos (amazing), fried chicken (very good), octopus (tender & tasty), hamachi crudo (fish was so fresh & tasty) and crepe brûlée (so good).
This is such a gem. The staff were friendly and professional and actually seemed to really enjoy their work. The food is exceptional. Tasty, zesty, spicy and full of surprises. Don’t walk to eat here. RUN!!!
Amazing food, you can see and taste the combination and fusion of Asian food. It’s something you don’t eat daily because it’s definitely out side of the box leisure. Food was brought out in order like a real dinner experience. You can taste the freshness and the seasoning of the starters. Although, I feel like my entree was more on the sweeter side. I ordered the Fried WholeRainbow Trout and Superior Farms Braised Lamb Belly. It’s hard to really taste anything when sweetness over shadows both entrees. The lamb belly was very very tender and highly suggested. Also to mention, our server was amazing, suggested great dishes and professional. She had the whole menu remembered and made us felt special.
We went to the Black Sheep as a group of four. We each chose an appetizer to share. My Salmon fish taco was delicious. I really enjoyed the squid appetizer too. Everything came in a reasonable amount of time too.
Each of us chose a different main course. I had the tasty duck dish, but I really enjoyed my sister's Rainbow Trout and a bite of scallop.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Black Sheep. Our waitress was helpful with suggestions and explanations of dishes. I could go on.
Chef Jamie is brilliant!
The food was so delicious and the service was top notch.
The food was amazing
Everything about our experience was really great, the host was very friendly and gave us an option of which table we’d like to be sat. We were told that their reservations were full for the night. Our server was helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. Everything we ordered was delicious. My Husband is allergic to shrimp and all shell fish and our server was very helpful on what we ordered and what items could be cross contaminated. Desert was incredible too. Overall a great experience, can’t wait to come back to Vegas to experience Chef Jaime Trans creations!
