The Black Sheep
The most wonderful original meal in Vegas !
Very enjoyable dinner and the service was great. I would recommend to anyone looking to have a great nice out
First time customer. While overall very good especially the food drinks, wine and service, the music was a bit too loud and can’t say I like to listen to rap music or the likes. Ambiance is good although a little dark, makes it hard to read the menu and the little table “candle” for some reason was no help. It actually seem to reflect its light in a negative way. I think an actual candle would have been better. Small stuff but sometime it matters.
Would certainly recommend this restaurant ( which I have done already) and plan on visiting again ourselves.
As visitors from Hawaii I tried this place on January and loved it. Brought some friends from Hawaii to try dinner in March. They were impressed and really enjoyed dinner. The salmon tacos and lemongrass duck dish were the winners
My go to when I'm Vegas! There is nothing in the menu which is a bad choice.
We had a small wedding reception (6 people). Food and service were absolutely amazing and outstanding!
Excellent dining experience. Service is super and their amazing bartender can make anything you want.
We could have feared on their appetizers as they are all amazing. Our entrees were Tai Snapper and Trout. Can’t wait to return!
Amazing short ribs. The rest of the food was good, too.
We are regulars and have eaten here often, as well as brought many different friends. This particular night, we brought my visiting sister and her boyfriend. We all LOVED everything we ate and drank. The newer Aztec Negroni was very smooth and delicious, the others' French pinots were very good as usual. We had both the special salad of the night with fennel that was absolutely yummy, and the regular menu butternut squash salad that was good but didn't quite compare. The octopus was tender and not as spicy as it was before which was good, and the vegan scallion pancakes were super tasty. The tai snapper was excellent (tho I didn't love the tamale), as were the striped bass, as always. The chocolate tres leches cake was surprisingly light and fresh, not overly sweet and heavy as you might expect. We couldn't decide if it was better than the s'mores cake and had to keep tasting both to figure it out but results were not conclusive. :)
Our server Hayley (sp?) was wonderful as usual (good luck with the rest of the pregnancy!) and I absentmindedly left my purse there that night but was able to retrieve it with ease the next day. The decor and ambiance are very nice, upscale enough but not too much, overall warm and inviting.
Andy or Chef Jamie, if you are reading this please put that special salad on the menu! Totally delicious. And just as I was getting a teeny bit tired of the menu (we always order the fall-off-the-bone tender duck confit and the bass), you added the Tai Snapper and the scallion pancakes, both of which will keep me coming back for a while! :). Also FYI, on your website the Download Wine List button just takes you to the menu, not the wine list.
The food was really good, excellent execution and taste. It was hard to coordinate a complete meal with the menu options. It was a unique and really tasty experience, definitely worth the excursion off the Vegas strip
The Black Sheep was great! We were in Vegas for a weekend away and wanted to get off the strip to enjoy a nice meal. The service was great, the food was delicious and well priced! It was about a 20 minute drive from the strip but totally worth it! I would highly recommend. Their octopus is the best we have ever had!
We have dined here many times, and somehow you outdid yourselves! It was every level of extra good! So much thought and care goes into each dish. Absolutely fantastic!!
All was excellent, but hard to converse due to noise level very high.
Loved the ambiance and decor! The food was amazing and our server Joel was outstanding! Fantastic menu choices- great variety! Can’t wait to go back!
Great drinks!! Food is very, very good. First time there, but will definitely return.
I enjoy every meal at this incredible restaurant. Every time I have visitors in town I share the experience with them. Love it.
Terrible service and horrible food. Heard many other customers complaining that night about the lack of attentiveness, dirty glasses of water and utensils and overall lackluster service. On top of that, the food was greasy, soggy and overcooked. I can’t comprehend why another would go here when there are so many lovely restaurants in LV that care about their customers, provide a clean and courteous dining experience and that puts out delicious food. It’s mind boggling why this place is in businesss. Do not go here.
We’ve been to Black Sheep before and it’s always delicious. The food and ambiance and wonderful. We did have to wait for our table, but enjoyed our time at the bar before being seated. I recommend it to anyone looking for a special night out or just a nice weeknight dinner.
unbelievable food and service - highly recommend, especially if you want to get off the strip for a great meal
Amazing drinks, service and exquisite food.!
Great just great
We enjoyed the atmosphere and food very much. The drinks were rather small for the price but overall we would certainly come back!
Friends in town
We had a lovely meal. Vegan scallion pancakes were really fabulous. Nice cocktail and decor. Not pretentious.
We ventured away from the strip to this ‘local’ restaurant. A great find, the food was a mix of Vietnamese and western. Very Interesting dishes, thoughtfully brought together in a stylish environment. Great alternative to the over priced mass produced food service you’ll find on the strip.
On a quiet Thursday night we had a really good meal. The short rib, duck confit, octopus, and salmon skin tacos were great.
Great time with great service.
Love this place! Really creative and solid menu! This is way off the strip but worth the drive. We will return as soon as we are back in Vegas.
There were 4 of us including 2 vegans. They shared the vegan Vietnamese glass noodles and the pancake starter. They enjoyed their food, not bowled over. My husband ordered the striped bass dish, he was very happy with his choice. I ordered the butternut squash salad and the spring rolls starter. The salad was delicious and very generous portion. The spring rolls were good but were deep fried and greasy, not what I expected. The wine list is generous in selections. We would return to sample more dishes.
Something they cook with made both of us sick and we order completely different things.
Innovative menu. Chef Jamie is amazing!!
Thank you excellent food and service.
Not bad but portions were very small and quite expensive for what was served. Could be more intimate setting and waitstaff needs to be note attentive.
Very creative menu. All appetizers were the best, with the salmon skin tacos and the octopus being the best. All the main courses were enjoyed by our party of 6 and we ordered the glass noodle main dish for the table to share. If you don't like spicy food, this is not the place for you, but if you do, your palate will be pleased.
I'd like to give Josh more than 5 stars for service. He is outstanding
Waited 20 minutes to get our first drink service not good at all all the food was mediocre at best the steak had no flavor at all we were super excited to go there but unfortunately we won’t be back
Excellent service. Servers knowledgeable and helpful. Small but interesting menu plus specials and gluten free options. Brazing special was delicious as were the Vietnamese spring rolls. Highly recommended.
We came for NYE dinner. We were 10 minutes late and were seated at 30 minutes past reservation time. We didn’t mind as we weren’t in a rush but this place is busy and small so don’t make tight reservations w plans after. Food was generally good. My dumpling was 1/2 moist and 1/2 dry so I don’t recommend this dish. The other appetizers were fine, not special. The fish was quite good as was Hanger steak and duck main entree. My favorite was the dessert - large chocolate macaron. Wow! I’d rather eat here on a regular night and not set meal. It’s been better.
Food was so flavorful in the best way possible. Portions were just right and we did not leave hungry. I will definitely come back next time I'm in town.
Excellent food. Quaint neighborhood location. Very considerate service staff.
