The bartender Mallory was AWESOME. All of her recommendations were so good. Can’t wait to go back.
We had a great time at The Black Sheep! I’ve been wanting to go for a few years now and I finally got the chance! Service was great and we never really felt like we were “waiting” for our food; maybe “anticipating” is the better way to describe it. Menu prices are appropriate for the cuisine and the popularity Jamie Tran has created, but it can be spendy if you’re either drinking a lot or hungry for a lot of food – yet it’s absolutely worth it. I felt that the entrée portions were perfect and the flavor profiles even more perfect! I will return again to try more menu items and I’m so glad I finally made it.
Very limited menu for an Asian restaurant but the choice that was available was good.
Service was excellent by JR and the food exceeded expectations!!
Food was even better than expected. The service was very good. The only downside was the noise level. It was hard for the two of us to ha e a conversation
Nice place. Not bad price but dessert was a bit burnt and the cinnamon rice was hard. Main course was good for odd pairings.
The food and presentation were AMAZING!! The music and its volume were not what I would have chosen to enhance the atmosphere, but the food and the service made up fot it.
Wonderful experience. Great food, attentive service. We had 5 different Starters and all enjoyed the selections. We all raved about taste, prep, presentation.
Super slow service but food was excellent. Love the fish tacos and the fried trout. They were out of the sliders, which was disappointing.
The Black Sheep is an Awesome spot...chill vibe, friendly & attentive service (Thank You Joel), good wine selection, and a delicious menu...our favorite bite is their Bao Sliders...I highly recommend The Black Sheep
Excellent cocktails, great service. The food was good but the beef crisps we had with the steak tartar had such hard pieces in it, I thought I chipped my tooth. My husband felt the same. The dish tasted good but we each had several bites that we had to spit part of it out because it was like chewing on a rock. We had several small plates—steak tartar, octopus, chicken, salmon tacos. All were pretty good. Tacos needed more aioli. Creme brûlée was very good. Restaurant was very cold
This is the best place to go for your money. I had a great experience and the food was amazing.
Many menu it’s 86 already, too much sauce on scallops short ribs only a jus, lie’ would of been nice, dessert selection minimal and 86 horchata
Great food at a great price point. Great for a fancy night out without being too fancy. Nice ambiance. Service was a little slow but every one was nice.
We had a great dinner and really enjoyed the evening at Black Sheep.
We truly anticipated visiting this restaurant based upon the accolades it has received. These accolades are deserved. My wife and I took my mother and sister who are locals to dinner on Sunday evening. They are basically "meat and potatoes" people but will try more complex dishes on occasion. Both loved this restaurant and found items which satisfied them. For example, neither like "spicy" dishes. Our server suggested that the kitchen could substitute steamed rice for the kimchi fried rice with the short ribs. This simple change, which some restaurants might not make made all the difference for my sister who loved the short ribs, which were still very flavorful. Five stars for service.
For appetizers, we shared two poached pear salads and the imperial rolls. The portions of the salad allowed each of us to have just the right amount without filling us up. The imperial roll serving was two rolls allowing each of us to enjoy tasting this very well made dish.
For main courses my sister and I had the short ribs while my wife had the duck confit and my mother the fried rainbow trout. All of the food melted in our mouths. The dishes were masterfully seasoned. Again the portions were perfectly sized allowing each of us to finish without being stuffed.
We then shared both of the desserts. Yes their were only two desserts, a slight negative for a dessert lover like me but both were very well done.
Without question this is one of the best restaurants in Las Vegas. Highly recommended for a more casual meal in a small and quiet restaurant. Worth the trip even for visitors staying on the strip. We will return on our next trip.
Hunter was very attentive and very helpful. We really enjoyed our night out with our friends.
Very creative food with surprising flavors.Greatly appreciated Quick service !
The hostess was very friendly and nice when you enter the waitress that took my food was friendly but it took a long time for her to come around to get things from her like water and dessert the food was really good the fish salmon taco was excellent and the beef stew was amazing the meat was soft and tender I would go again to try other stuff. the cocktail that they had was wonderful excellent. The dessert was good was well.
Interesting menu. Great service. Biggest negative: we had the hot wings, scallion pancake, salmon skin tacos, pear salad and chocolate tres leches cake. The first three tasted as if they had been made earlier …not freshly made. My favorites: peas salad and topping on scallion pancake. ( the pancake did not taste “ freshly made”.
The food was excellent, service was perfect, drinks and wine good. Prices are higher than they should be but we knew that in advance.
This was our second time dining here with the first time more than 18 month prior. We were not disappointed. Three of us shared four shared plates and two appetizers and all were unique and delicious. The cocktail selections were a great twist on some of the traditionals. Finally, our server was very professional and attentive. We won't wait so long next time to return.
The food and service was amazing. Staff was pleasant, helpful, and very attentive. The food was spectacular.
The service for a nice restaurant was disappointing to say the least. The most bland waitress who didn’t seem to care. The food use to be better than it is and the menu was smaller than the last time we came. There are better options nearby for the price.
Worth the drive for a great meal with
Menu items that you don’t normally se on menus
Great Ambiance! Great Service!
Ordered the Beef Crisps appetizer. Perfect light and crispy snack paired with our blackberry ca ca choo drinks.
We also ordered the scallop dish and braised short rib dish as our main entree. Absolutely flavorful and the perfect amount of servings.
Our reservation was at 615pm and we didn’t leave until 10pm. We didn’t feel rushed to leave and the server continued to check on us long after our last meal was completed.
Would recommend to Vegas locals to add this on their list of neighborhood eats.
We are gradually working our way through the whole menu at The Black Sheep. It is all very good!
This was my 3rd time back to Black Sheep and it continues not to disappoint. The ambiance, décor, service and food are all 5 star. We had 7 or 8 app's with 2 bottles of wine for 3 of us and it was perfect. Keep up the great job. I will be back soon.
I dine here once a year on work travel, and they get better every year-which is amazing because they started at excellent!
The hot chicken was the highlight for us, the duck and short rib were also excellent.
Exceptional meal. We can’t wait to return!
Had very high expectations based on dinner's reviews. I was disappointed in the taste. It was not to my liking.
The restaurant was recommended by a friend. Although the hours are somewhat limited, we were able to make a reservation for 9pm, driving up from LA. We were delayed a few minutes due to traffic but it was not a problem even though the restaurant closed at 10pm. Menu items are a bit limited, however the food was delicious. We were happy all went well that night and will return next time in Vegas.
We had an absolutely amazing meal at the black sheep. It’s located off the strip which is nice, and the restaurant has an amazing atmosphere, the food is delicious and original, and the staff were so kind!
We had such a pleasant and delicious dining experience. Our service Joel
Provided us with such welcoming and fun dining experience! Certain worth’s stop when visiting Las Vegas!
Hunter took fantastic care of us all night. Everything from apps to dessert, mocktails, and menu were all outstanding. Will be back, we love Jamie!
We ended up ordering several appetizers, and no entrees. The octopus was very spicy, but still delicious. The Hot chicken wasn't very hot at all, but again, still very good. The bao buns for the bao sliders were probably the best I've ever had. The beef crisps were a different type of dish than what was expected. More like a pork rind. The sauce that accompanied it was very tasty. My only gripe was that the restaurant was freezing. I noticed several of us in there kept our jackets on the whole time. It was so cold we opted to go somewhere else for dessert and drinks.
The pear salad was excellent. That was the best appetizer of the 4 we ordered.
The egg rolls were good, the scallion pancakes were OK, a little spicy. The octopus was much too spicy, I couldn't eat it. My sister who likes spicy said it was almost too much for her. We were not warned about the spicy dishes. We both decided we would not go back.
I thought the food would taste much better after seeing it's rating on Netflix. Not great. Small menu - literally tried 80% of the menu. That said, I was disappointed to say the least.
