Welcome to the Black Bull.
Tucked away in rural Lancashire, between cloud topped hills, green fields, rolling pastures, and lots of cows... sits The Black Bull Inn.
Nestled in the picturesque village of Old Langho, our stone building has been here since the 1500s. Steeped in history it has it's own warm welcome to travellers from far and wide.
Our menu is fresh, local and has a nice balance of those "pub classics" but brought up to date in modern and inventive ways.
Dog friendly in the bar area or garden, and plenty of cosy seating available in front of our roaring fires, in The Library, or in our gorgeous, beamed, renovated Fire Barn.

THE BEST SUNDAY ROAST!!! I will never go anywhere else for a Sunday roast, it’s quick, it’s delicious and it’s the most beautiful pub. Only issue is not having a disabled area at the front, the parking was a little hard to get to the front door. But other than that. Amazing place. Credit to the owners!

We booked via on line however I wished I'd rung up as we were sat in bar area where dogs allowed. This was the only thing that put us off. The rest was excellent

Ate here before and it was great. Ate here last night and it wasn’t. Got placed in front of a bloke singing Elvis. He wasn’t bad, to be fair, but he was loud and we weren’t asked if we wanted it and it wasn’t part of the booking process. We did manage to get moved though. The service was fine. The food wasn’t great. Wife had a poor salmon, kid had a poor pizza, I had an average salad with 3 extra dry prawns, which came with an additional charge of £7. It’s a shame, because we like the place. It’s not cheap though, and based on last night, it needs to up its game.

Excellent service, really friendly and welcoming. Best element was the no fuss remedy offered over a below par starter dish that you find in top end restaurants. The owner was delightful, genuinely pleased to see her customers enjoying good food and drink. The market fish cooking was great, a lovely sole dish. The fondant dessert was really excellent, too. Will happily go back.

The staff were very friendly and we didn’t have to wait long for service. The food was delicious and after we had eaten, we finished our drinks outside in the beer garden which was lovely, right in the heart of the countryside. All in all, a lovely evening.

Chips were very very undercooked. Told staff and was just told sorry about that. Food was a bit overpriced for the quality of it.

The food and service were good but we visited on a very hot day and the small room-area with no windows was oppressive. Could do with air conditioning.

Very nice pub/restaurant. Decor very stylish, spacious with plenty of room between each table for that feeling of privacy, they haven’t rammed as many tables in as possible. Lovely beer garden, again stylishly done with plenty of room and tables. There is also an outside pizza bar (not sure if that runs all year round?) we went on a very hot day in the summer. Service was attentive, good choice on the menu to suit all a with a specials menu also. We enjoyed our meal very much, decent portion size and well presented. We opted for a sharing board to start with a number of choices, we went for three bowls which was plenty for us as a starter. As it was so hot I opted for a salad for mains. We will definitely go back as would like to try other options on the menu. Overall we found the whole experience of a very good standard and recommend a visit.
