The Bit and Spur
Best place for dinner in Zion during Covid times. In addition to consistently good food, the service and outdoor dining can’t be beat. Very good Mexican based menu.
give Ashley a raise for how she was hustling and being efficient
Nice big backyard for outdoor seating. Good ribeye steak.
Everything was great. Service by far the best in town. Food amazing ... only thing lacking was margaritas (watered down and not flavorful)
Wonderful staff, location, and food.
Great restaurant with great food choices and super kid friendly. Food was fresh and tasty. Kids liked it too.
Great margaritas and atmosphere
This restaurant has taken the COVID lemon and made lemonade. They have moved their dining room outdoors where you dine on tables set up spread out on a grass field behind the building under the shade of trees. Misters and sting lights (bulbs in what looked like colored solo cups) complete the set up. The food and service was excellent but the experience was priceless.
Outdoor seating with tables 6’ apart or more, misters to keep everyone cool, colored cups covering lights, which might sound corny but looked really nice when it got dark.
Waitress was very polite and knowledgable. Food choices were many, wine and beer menu, extensive.
There were four of us, who each got a different entree and enjoyed it immensely! Cocktails were wonderful, appetizers plentiful and desserts (3 different ones) were enjoyed by all!
Great place to enjoy good friends and good food!
Food was mediocre and lacked flavor.
Of the restaurants I have dined in since COVID hit, this restaurant took the safety of their patrons into consideration at exceptional levels. Distanced tables, outside, great sanitation between diners, masks by servers, hand sanitizer by servers between tables... and that’s before I comment on the food (exceptional!) the service, (unmatched) and the ambiance - so lovely at the base of Zion majesty. We ate here two out of three nights in Springdale and I have already told several friends they need to visit when they are there later this year!
Service was great. Food was better than most in this city but still just ok. The view is amazing.
Loved this place. They created a very cool alfresco dining area in their lawn and it was perfect. The food and service was great.
It was awesome. Staff was friendly and professional, food was great.
The way they handled social distancing was the best I have seen anywhere.
We received an email through open table, that the restaurant was closed.
Horrible! We made reservations on Open Table, and confirmed we would be there the day before. When we arrived the restaurant was closed(sign on door said closed until July 12). The owners should have notified Open Table that they were closing so there would be no reservations allowed. Our reservation was at 8:00 and by that time there were no options available for dinner anywhere. we ended up getting a sandwich from the grocery store.
Great experience at the Bit and Spur. There’s only outdoor seating right now, but the area is shaded, with misters. Excellent food that’s thoughtfully prepared, with vegan and vegetarian options. We had such a great experience Saturday that we went back two days later. Definitely make a reservation, especially if your party is larger. It was busy.
Diners eat outside in the backyard with a good view of the Zion Park Moutains. Masks are required. The ambiance was very pleasant and the food was excellent. I recommend The Bit and Spur for anyone wanting a terrific dining experience in Spring Valley.
It was my first time to the Bit and Spur and it was so good, we went back a second night. The outdoor ambiance was nice, the food and service were spectacular. In my opinion, it is the best restaurant in Springdale and I cannot wait to go back again soon
Delicious enchiladas. Social distanced seating outdoor tables in the shade. Attentive service.
Loved the food, outdoor dining during COVID. Great service and a lot of gluten free and health dining options.
The rosemary chicken pasta was super delicious. Chicken was really well cooked and the sauce not too overwhelming. The burritos were also good. I'd say I was a bit disappointed in the chile relleno bc it was one chili pepper fully doused in some kind of cheese salsa mix and a layer of egg on the bottom. The cheese was a bit overwhelming and the pepper underwhelming in my opinion. The rice and beans were really good though.
Truly a unique little restaurant with a fabulous menu that features local flavors with a Mexican twist. The relish that comes with their Brie appetizer should be bottled and sold on site: it’s that damn deli!
Booked a reservation as a date night on my honeymoon with my husband. Way better than we expected. The Guac and chips were the best we've ever tried. The service was super quick and the atmosphere was amazing! The outdoor seating was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and the food amazing! Would definitely come back here.
Wonderful restaurant, great food and service in a beautiful outdoor setting. We felt very safe during this COVID social distancing mandate in Utah since we were outdoors.
Was very happy with the way it was set up almost like a park setting. Food was amazing and the service was outstanding.
Excellent restaurant all around. Gorgeous atmosphere sitting outside on the grass -- just couldn't ask for a nicer spot. The food was delicious and we ate there 2 nights in a row. The cocktails amazing. Staff very friendly and efficient. Terrific place.
Had a great dinner her Tuesday, June 24th. Sat our in the large, grassy area in the back. Felt very safe! Very nice ambiance and the food was delicious! Would definitely recommend.
I love, love, LOVE this place! I come every year on my birthday. They didn't skip a beat this year, with social distancing - eating under the trees with colored lights was the perfect solution. Food is to die for! Still my favorite place.
Great service and great food. 1 of the best if not the best restaurant in town.
We ate here June 14th with the backdrop of Covid 19 restrictions. The area behind the restaurant was set up for outdoor dining. It was beautiful and pleasant. The service was prompt and our waitress was great. Would definitely recommend the Bit and Spur for those visiting Zion.
We had a reservation and knew the restaurant was only seating outside. With no waiting, we were taken to a perfect spot on their big lawn, usually used for weddings and parties. Beautiful setting with views of the canyon. The food was excellent and we had a perfect waitress. overall, just a wonderful evening in the shade of a big tree.
They were very concerned about health and the current precautions. They thoroughly cleaned tables and chairs between parties, kept their distance, wore masks, cleaned menus between use, etc. I was impressed and felt very comfortable dining out.
Great experience dining outside it the vast lawn area, all COVID-19 precautions were in place and perfectly executed.
It was amazing as always!
We had an awesome dinner at Bit n Spur on 6/12/2020. It was all outdoor seating, which was beautifully set up in the grassy area behind the restaurant. The Mezca-rita cocktails were well crafted and excellent. We ordered a pasta dish and the polenta with mushrooms. Both meals were fantastic as well as the fresh guacamole appetizer. Service was on spot and we cant wait to dine there again. Prices were reasonable, too! Definitely recommend!
Phenomenal meal, waitress and ambiance. Loved the social distancing and anti-Covid measures. Food and drink and desserts incredible! Special shout out to the sweet potato tamales! We first came here in 1989 and it remains fantastic and current.
Great meal as always... Having our wedding dinner there this Saturday!
