Amazing meal , nice place to any kind of date , friends, love , anything, definitely going back !
I love this place! All of it! Innovative, quirky, fabulous.
We celebrated our anniversary here and the staff was great in help celebrating out special occasion. Thw ambiance was great as we werd outside and the decor and setup was very nice for romantic dinner.. Food was very good and some dishes had some unique flavors from the different spices they used. Would definitely recommend.
Everything Nancy touches is gold and this is just proof of that. Service was excellent and really went over the top to make an enjoyable experience. I look forward to returning when we reopen for dining again!
Incredible food and ambiance! Highly recommend the hanger steak.
Service was great, appetizers were solid (Prawns & Pizza Fritti), 30 days old steak had no flavor and served warm, like it was sitting. Lamb chops were ok, nothing I tried wanted me to come back.
Food was just incredibly bad. Temperature of for all the meat. Drinks took 30 minutes between rounds. Beans were nearly tasteless. So disappointing. Service was helpful and sweet, in spite of how bad the food was.
This restaurant is OUTSTANDING. We ordered the wedge salad; it was the best wedge salad I’ve ever had. We ordered the roll; it was the best roll I’ve ever had; we ordered the strip steak for $100. It was the BEST piece of meat I’ve ever eaten. Despite COVID, the ambiance and service were impeccable. Nancy Silverton came out and talked to us about our meal. She was lovely. It was one of the best food experiences I have had in a LONG TIME. Highly recommend. DELICIOUS AND DELIGHTFUL.
The lamb was excellent! The shrimp felt very over cooked, but very nice flavor and balance. The greens were very tasty but relied heavily on the cheese for flavor and texture. Wouldn’t recommend the mushrooms, as they were quite tough. The service and ambiance were both outstanding!
My fiancé and I were out on a much needed date night and this place was over and beyond OUTSTANDING!!! Couldn’t of asked for anything better. Recommendation if you go here get the Steak it’s to DIE for!!
This experience was truly exceptional. Given that this was a COVID based dining experience, I can only imagine what the 'REAL' restaurant dining experience will be! The ambience of having a quality outdoor meal in the historic Hollywood Roosevelt hotel - only to realize this was an extremely rare opportunity. While it was a chilled night - we were informed by out waitress that Nancy Silverton had purchased sweaters for the staff earlier that afternoon -so they would not freeze on their shift.
The restaurant? Think Italian farmhouse themed Steakhouse. If you appreciate the ART of food, this is your space! We opted to kick off our meal with the Grilled (Ginormous) Prawns! While they were delicious - they proved a bit messy for this Grizzly Bear! Schrapnel and fingers were involved - when I was about to touch the waitress's new sweater, hot, wet napkins were delivered to the table POST HASTE!
Salads were on point! I got the Iceberg Wedge - it was the best. My dining partner got the Chicory Caesar Salad.
The best part of the meal? The main dish! The flavor pairings of the Hanger Steak and Cabbage!!!! I got the Lamb chops (two) served on sliced grilled potato! But it was the creamed Mustard Greens!!!!!!!!!!
The final win for the night? Nancy Silverton SHOWED UP!!! She was very low key - and she stopped by a couple of tables - personally checking in on the diners. It would have been ultra cool if she had checked in at our table, but alas - not in the cards for this visit. Probably a good thing because i might have gone fan-boy on her!
I could gush all over the food and the staff - but I think it's key to remember this experience is only two thirds of what to expect as a diner - the actual indoor restaurant, once opened will be very different. I will be back, I will bring the cynical friends if only to remind them of what fine dining in Los Angeles can be.
Not a good alcohol selection. Nice scenery. Some appetizers were good but not the main dishes
Fantastic experience. Small menu with really only gems. Dishes are simple straightforward and well executed. We ate in the courtyard, and service was too notch.
Phenomenal dinner. We ordered about half the menu. Everything was cooked to perfection, and service was gracious and top-notch.
Personal favorites for me were the creamed mustard greens, albalone mushrooms, sea bream and the prawns.
I’ve been so over kale salads for years since they’ve been everywhere for so long, but this one was fantastic. I was very pleasantly surprised.
We went for our anniversary, but I will be going back on a much more regular basis. Cannot wait until the world opens again and we can experience the brand new indoor space!
Service and timing was perfection, from runners, bussers, our server, and Gerald the manager could not have made our night more special.
To Jerald and the The Barish Team,
Thank you for an incredible evening. EVERYTHING was excellent. The pork was the best we had ever enjoyed, the lamb was very tender, and the texture of the prawns was superb. Then you got the fries and the mushrooms. We did not want the goodness to end.
John was Ace. Full stop.
A Hollywood oasis!
Amazing food! I’ll definitely be back!!!
The food was incredible, the service was wonderful. Helen ♥️ We loved the location. So happy to have yet another brilliant Silverton creation to go to! If you’re lucky you might meet the chef!
Wish we waited a few months till they were ready to provide the service we experience at Mozza. Completely disappointed all around.
Nancy Silverton does it again ! Phenomenal menu. We tried every entree except for the New York strip which was sold out unfortunately but every dish was fantastic. Hanger steak was perfectly cooked and the Pork Chop was so flavorful. Our waitress had wonderful suggestions on appetizers and wine. Pizza Fritti was light and perfect with the ricotta. The portions are satisfying.
I went to have the 30 day dry aged steak. It was what called my attention the most. For a restaurant that is newly opened you’d think you’d have extra of every item. Well sat down ordered a drink and a bottle of water and the waitress comes by and says oh by the way we’re out of the steak. I said really you’d think you guys would be nice enough to mention that when a customer arrives. At the end of my dinner after cold food and very mediocre service. I was handed a bill with a handsome restaurant service charge and on top of it they want tip. Im a firm believer in always leaving at minimum 20% but to impose that on a customer is wrong. Between service charge and tip it was half my bill. So be aware.
Biggest issue of the night was the fact that either our entree was completely forgotten or the kitchen was behind (took an hour+ to arrive at our table). The latter is hard to imagine given it was visibly quiet throughout the restaurant. When the steak and lamb entrees arrived, they were way overcooked and over-salted, poor presented, and generally unappetizing. The restaurant manager was incredibly kind, though, apologized, and refunded the entrees.
The ambiance was very nice, with tables nestled between palm trees and the lit-up pool. We sat on the upper walkway, which could use a few more plants to make it feel like less of a pass-through for hotel guests.
We also loved our drinks and the restaurant's fresh take on a caesar salad -- so tasty!
It's clear that the restaurant took health and safety very seriously (everyone wore masks, face shields, etc.). Service was a challenge, though, and it never felt like we had one dedicated server to our table, which could have resulted in the forgotten order.
All this to say, we acknowledge this was the restaurant's first week and love Ms. Silverton's other restaurants so much, that we will like return once all the kinks are sorted out.
Fantastic Italian food, with creative and perfectly balanced dishes. Exactly what you expect from the owners of world-famous Osteria Mozza. Great wine list and super friendly service. Outdoor dining overlooking the beautiful pool and lighted palm trees in Hollywood’s most classic hotel. A great new addition to Hollywood fine dining!
