   The high tea was elegant tasty and filling - the scones were delicious and served warm - perhaps make a serviette avail to cover them to keep warm - other feedback for awareness is to add another savoury(?) that’s not a criticism in any way!

   High Tea was great, however the equivalent GF selections provided seemed like an after thought and were up to the standard on the non-GF selections.

   The staff with one exception were inexperienced and unhelpful. Service was slow. Person in charge was surly.

   The food was excellent and the service was A1. The spaghetti and calamari were fresh and tasty. The wait staff friendly and attentive. The ambience is lovely. Only complaint is we booked this expecting to be in restaurant but on arrival was told that due to Covid they were only serving in the bar area. Disappointed this was not known beforehand. Otherwise a lovely dinner and experience.

   Considering we were one of only two tables for dinner in the restaurant the service should have been very attentive, particularly as we were celebrating a birthday too. The table (along with most other tables) was set for breakfast (jams, no wine glasses, etc); the waitress asked for our food orders when she had only provided half the table with menus; disappeared for ages at a time, etc. On several occasions we had to pour our own wine and water. At the end of mains the wait was so long that I decided to enter the kitchen to get someone to attend to us! The food was hit and miss and overall average. Ridiculously poor service in any establishment let alone one that was so quiet and let alone an InterContinental! There’s too many other options to ever want to return. Why bother?
