The Avery inspires all occasions—romantic and casual alike—fueled by the culinary creations of Michelin-starred chef, Cal Elliott. Enjoy elevated classics inspired by French techniques. A warm & moody Gastro-Tavern, Tiner's Alley, is tucked in the back for cozy after-dinner cocktails and free billiards. Excellent experience from start to finish, and our visit came on a Monday, when many restaurants aren't open. Understated elegance comes to mind. Menu is focused and our orders were executed with skill from the servers to the kitchen beginning with our first contact through our exit. The wine list offers a wide variety of wines and regions, and I was able to try an excellent French Grenache that paired well with the entre of filet and rib. Portions were generous but not overly so. Tables were comfortable. Parking was easy as we arrived after business hours. The bathrooms were well designed and maintained. We will definitely be back.

Food was great. The atmosphere was lovely. We were there for our Anniversary, but seated at one of the smallest tables in the room.

I ordered the cassoulet with lamb, but the chef substituted chicken for lamb without telling me. I also had a glass of Harp draft beer and was charged $10 for it although it was $6 on the beer menu. This was corrected when I called their attention to the error. The food was good, not great. Our party of five each enjoyed their meals.

The meals were exquisite! Our entire party loved the meal; from steak tartare, oysters, lamb ragout, cassoulet, to the seafood cioppino. We highly recommend this restaurant. My husband felt like he was eating back home in France.

Lovely atmosphere and the service was great. The avocado toast was very tasty, so were the eggs Benedict. The French toast was a little dry, so it could've used more of the frosting sauce and some butter.

I will admit that reading some reviews made me nervous about our first visit to The Avery, but quite a few friends had highly recommended this place so we gave it a try for Father’s Day. Let’s just say we were not disappointed! Excellent food, wine and service. I can’t wait to return.
