The Architect is Cambridge’s first dedicated Fish and Chip and Pie and Mash bar.

We offer these traditional British favourites on a design your own menu to give these much loved British classics a modern twist (should you choose to) or just stick with the classic combinations that have been enjoyed for generations.

We love eating here, and have done so many times. This time there were just three of us - myself, my wife and our 9 year old granddaughter - she chose it because she loved it last time she came. The menu is simple but allows for considerable variety, and the children's menu is very good - it even looks and feels as if they are having the same sort of meal as the adults, which she likes. Great selection of beers, wines and spirits, friendly, helpful and efficient staff, and a great atmosphere. This is a pub, so will never sound like a quiet restaurant, but we have always found the noise level to be very reasonable, and have no trouble having a conversation. We will be back again....and again!

It was the second time I have been here and it was equally as good this time round. Great selection on the menu, great service and a really good atmosphere. If there is one negative I would say that I thought the desserts were very expensive for what you got.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. The menu was easy to understand and we had no fears with our daughter’s gluten allergy. The perfect place for gluten free fish and chips and calamari, my 7 year old loved it so much that we visited The Architect twice on our weekend away in Cambridge. The fish pie, chicken pie and scotch egg that other members had were also delicious. Staff were fantastic making sure we were seated somewhere comfortable where we could have a baby pram next to us and less busy for feeding the baby. We’ll definitely be back when we are in the area again.

The food was incredibly good. We didn't like that they charged us 10% because we were a large group. We were going to give a good tip anyway, I think this extra charge without previous notification wasn't necessary

It's a lovely place with nice ambience. The staff were all very nice and friendly. We waited over an hour for food which was a bit of a torture.
