   Burger was a bit over cooked/not great quality Fish and chips, whitebait, chicken liver pate, and black garlic Mayo were all delicious Disappointed that they didn’t have a couple of items on the menu Table next to the fireplace was great!

   I’ve been going to this gastropub for years but it’s now gone sharply downhill. Main problem; many things on the limited menu were not available. Waiter casually told us that AFTER we’d made our choice, not when we were given the menus. Offered us puddings, then when we replied with our order, told us they’d ONLY got sticky toffee! WTF?!? My main was the chicken pie, which was ok but not great, the mash was solid and gluey and the cabbage minuscule. Couldn’t even make up for it with an apple crumble - not available, of course. Never again. Big shame.

   I can Highly recommend The Angel Oak as a place to eat. The roast we had on Sunday was excellent, Although the pub was very busy the food was on point. The waiting staff were friendly and didn't rush us. The management even swapped our table as I took my 85yr old mum and she couldn't manage the tall table that we were originally give. Top marks all round. Well done.

    Very nice New Years lunch. Staff were friendly and food was very good with large portions. There was a nice buzz with people talking but not too crowded or overpowering music. Our dog could come too! This is the fourth time we have visited Angel Oak and it is always consistently good. We will come again.

    We sat outside on the heated well lit terrace which was lovely and not noisy. Sunday lunch was great. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. A lovely Sunday afternoon!

    Very cozy pub with a good beer selection, including some rotating taps. Sunday roast is excellent, while the food during the week is pretty good too. All our plates were pretty tasty, except for the mac & cheese croquettes, which lacked flavor. We visit a couple times a month as it's also pet friendly, with enough space for large dogs.

    Would have loved to be served at our table. Grateful we arrived late you and you could still feed us. Good friendly staff. Bit too much gravy for me - I couldn’t identify the veg. Chicken well cooked. 2800 cals for a roast didn’t put me off

    My niece and I thoroughly enjoyed our delicious roast lunch. It was the first time we’d been to the Angel Oak and we weren’t disappointed. Great food, friendly staff and relaxing ambience. Would definitely recommend.

    The atmosphere was good and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was lackluster, especially for the prices charged for pub food. The beer garden out back is immense; showing live footy was a bonus.

    I took my family out for a Sunday roast yesterday to celebrate my birthday. There were seven of us. It was really clean, friendly and really nice vibe. We are all a fussy bunch and just wrote down all the things we needed. The food came out in all go and on time. It was really nicely prepared and we all had a great time. Thank for making it a really lovely experience

    Food was very disappointing. Salty, poor quality, very overpriced for mediocre food. We won't be returning to eat which is a shame as service fantastic and pub very nice. Much nicer places to eat in Peckham/Nunhead

    Booked a table for standard dinning and was given a seat in the bar area, where we waiting for ages to be served, only to be told we had to go to the bar. Which we didn't realise as we had booked to eat in the restaurant area. Booking was at 5:30, eventually ate at 7.00pm. Food was okay, not sure I would go again as the whole experience was disappointing.

    Not impressed with our visit. I used to go to this pub very often before moving out of the area. As I was organising a social event for a group of 10 people I didn't know, I thought I'd pick a place I knew quite well. Unfortunately it was the wrong choice. We arrived and the table reserved for us would fit about 6 people so as soon as everyone started to arrive to attend the event, we had to ask the waiter to move us although the pub was very busy being a Saturday and could not fit us on a bigger table. (They had had our reservation at least two weeks before) We were then divided onto two tables which didn't really make any sense as it was a social event that included 10 people. Food turned up at all different times and we had to wait about 45 min for an ice cream scoop for my daughter. The club sandwiches had no avocado (although nothing was mentioned). Glasses stained and dirty. Staff stressed and rude, they made us feel so unwelcome. Overall not happy at all, would defo not go back anytime soon.

    Went for Club Sandwich this time instead of the usual fish and chips. Love that you can bring home what you can’t finish. Staff here are always so lovely.

    The garden on a sunny day is great, however we both ordered the vegan burger and were told sheepishly about 10 minutes later that they didn’t have any as the chef forgot to order them as he thought they had loads. They didn’t have the vegan sharer either which only left Caesar salad as vegan options go, so we just had chips, which were mediocre. The kind that feel a bit like underdone potato. Otherwise drinks and staff were good - I think/hope we were just unlucky.
