   This restaurant closed several months ago. Why would Open Table remind me of my defunct reservation and ask me to review my experience at the restaurant? Come on Open Table, you told me months ago that the restaurant had closed, why would you keep this reservation active on your records?

   Great service. Provided a champagne toast for my friends birthday. We had oysters, crab beignet, hush puppies, and more oysters. Everything was to die for. Will definitely be going back. The Bloody Mary is amazing too! Service was prompt and unobtrusive.

   We usually love going to Anchor but this time was not our best visit. We had a reservation for 7:45pm. We place our dinner orders by 8pm on a Saturday night. They were out of a ton of stuff on their menu: scallops, mussels, etc. Three of us wanted the mussels and 1 of us wanted the scallops. One of us ended up just eating a burger (at a seafood restaurant) 2 of us just had oysters and a couple of us all they order were soups. It was disappointing because the food is always great but who runs out of the best items in your menu at 8 on a Saturday night knowing that you have reservations.

   My husband and I were disappointed by our visit. We made a reservation several weeks ahead of time for a special night out, and had requested a private booth. Well, all of their booths are really big and will seat 6-8 people, so we were actually seated in a booth with another party who were already eating. Nothing private about it, when you are seated in the same booth with strangers. I will say that the food tasted amazing, but I gave them three stars because both entrees were TINY portions (my scallops plate had four medium-size scallops and less than 3 tablespoons of spaghetti squash and mushrooms on the plate...and nothing else)! I have often had small plate or tapas portions that were larger than the main entree sizes at The Anchor. The service was good and our waitress was very nice, so no complaints there, but overall, being seated with strangers, no privacy, tiny portions, and a very non-romantic ambiance that was noisy just didn't live up our expectations or what we had read online (our booth was also right next to the restrooms and the server station was beside us so that didn't help).

   We went down to the Anchor for dollar Oyster Thursday’s. A dozen oysters two entrees and a couple of cocktails all for less than 60 bucks! Good food and a good price!

   The Anchor is a great location for a meal for the OTR theatre crowd. We had our choice of tables. The server was helpful in choosing our food selections. My husband liked the cod on his sandwich but found the bread overwhelming, too much for the portion of cod. The accompanying french fries were cut thin and delicious. My serving of shrimp and grits appeared small, but was just enough for me as I am not a big eater. Only complaint is that a layer of oil surrounded the grits in the cast iron serving dish. The dish was tasty and did not overwhelm the just right shrimp. There was some confusion on the iced tea. I requested hibiscus iced tea and was given black iced tea. When I questioned the server, I was told that all their iced tea was hibiscus. Clearly, not true, but I do like well made black iced tea, which it was. The minimalist design and trays of succulents make for a pleasant atmosphere.

   We used to love Anchor, it seems like the quality has gone down. The past 2x we have come we have been unimpressed, the tuna tartare was bland!

   Disappointed oysters weren’t available. Salmon omelet was not hot - just slightly warm. Past visits have been better. Friends loved the chowder.

    Food was excellent but we were expecting a little different ambiance. Lighting was way too bright it felt more like a cafeteria than a fun place to eat with great food.
