Food was amazing from start to finish our server was amazing, if your wanting to treat yourself definitely check them out!
Our server was too busy with a party group and 3 other tables near us so the hostess took our orders. The bartender ended up bussing our table and bringing us our bill. Had the salmon appetizer which needed more flavor and came with THIN chips so it was difficult to spread without the chips breaking. Wagyu steak was meodicre. Halibut was good...cream sauce was very tasty. However price for the portion was absurd. Knew it would be pricey but wanted the experience and convenience of being in the hotel where we were staying.
This place feels like it's having an identity crisis. It can't decide weather it's a hotel bar or a upscale restaurant. Ambience was awful. Service was good. Food tasted great. Portion on the meatball appitzer was disappointing. You only get 2 meatballs for $12.
Service was great, more than one person on their team checked on our table....would like to see more healthy choices.
I thought this was The American which is closed.
Not kid friendly. Overall food was good but limited choices. Service was very friendly.
The restaurant is really unique . A great place to go have drinks. The menu it’s very minimal for a great dining experience. The food was OK. The service was great. We definitely go back for drinks and cocktails.
Very bland , service was eh
Food was excellent and Ron Gutierrez was amazing as usual!
Our service was excellent.
Fifth visit to this place and it’s consistently very good. The service is great. The server was friendly and mindful of our 8 y.o.son, as far as when we wanted his meal to come out and special fresh drinks. We ordered the octopus app and had to get a 2nd because it was so delicious and full of flavor. Ambiance is also perfect- relaxing for a Friday night dinner after a long week.
Such a bizarre experience. From the photos, the restaurant definitely looks larger and brighter than it was in real life. Quite a dark space, which is great when that's the mood you're going for. It is a hotel restaurant, so it had a very strange mix of clientele. The servers were attentive, but awkward in their interactions. The food was good, although the menu was slightly limited. Great wine list by the bottle, more limited by the glass. All in all, not a regrettable meal but not worth a trip back.
This restaurant never fails to deliver excellent cuisine as always, our compliments to the chef. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable and ever so friendly.
Thanks to everyone for a great evening and dinner.
Ed was our waiter and gave us the most amazing service!! Will come back again if I can have his table.
Terrible food. Poor service. This is not a place for a special occasion or any time at all for that matter. Do not waste your time or money on this place.
It was a great breakfast and I’m one with Celiac disease and ate safely. My meal was a yummy gluten free one!
Father’s Day brunch was perfect! My dad was digging the decor and his hash.
Our server Gary was amazing! We had a wonderful time and the food was great!
Great evening out. We were promptly seated. Wait staff were knowledgeable. Food was amazing, especially the octopus.
Food is fantastic just a little more on the expensive side. Service is outstanding. We come mostly for the grilled octopus.
Our first time to the American Reserve Bar & Grille. Wait staff was very good, when she was not able to answer a question - another gentleman came over and gave us plenty of information that was requested. Drinks were top notch. Our food was well presented and taste / texture / flavors were very good.
The service was impeccable. We love dining here for special celebrations. The halibut was complex and delicious. The char on the lamb was slightly overpowering but generally balanced with a bright tabbouleh. Would recommend to anyone!
Food was solid. Service was forced and inattentive. Similar to other reviews.
So much better than I hoped for. This will be a new staple for big nights out and introducing out if town clients/friends to KC. Loved everything about it and fir the quality the price was very reasonable.
Excellent service, high quality food, casual chic ambience, and a surprise live music performance. Loved it and will be back.
Great upscale dinner and bar option. Classy, quaint, and fun. Great live music.
Friendly and professional service. Amazing food. Beef Borg. was our favorite. Nice evening for myself and daughter.
Great atmosphere and great food!
The service was quite accommodating and the food is very tasty but not too expensive.
Food is amazing drinks are amazing
Food and cocktails were FABULOUS! Jake, our server, was very attentive and demonstrated a passion for his job that reflected in every aspect of our visit.
We made reservations and were welcomed by the manager and he found us a table in the corner. We were seated next to an area where it seemed to have just been occupied by 10 or 12 people. The table was unbussed and dirty. There were 2 servers and the dining room was approximately 70% capacity, including a 10 top. We were greeted by our server and received our drinks. Because of the capacity and probability that the kitchen was understaffed due to COVID-19, our food took 35 minutes to receive. Our first dish was the Border Hash, it was a well seasoned and creative dish. Potatoes, black beans, bacon, chorizo and salsa verde, topped with 2 eggs over easy. The eggs were over cooked and hard. Our second dish was the baked custard brioche french toast, with macerated strawberries. The dish was basically a layer of burned cubes of bread on top of a layer of soggy bread, it should be marketed more as a bread pudding than french toast. The strawberries were freshly cut, not macerated, it was hard to eat. The server quickly apologized and offered to replace, we chose 2 eggs over easy. It was around 15 minutes to receive the eggs, the eggs were overcooked and hard. Both the french toast and the 2 eggs were removed from our tab without our requesting them to. It was appreciated to be have them just take care of our issue without any resistance. Our overall experience was, ok. We hope to give them another try very soon.
Fantastic in every single way. Charming, romantic, excellent service. Delicious food!
I have been here twice before and had a better experience on those occasions. This visit wasn't bad but it nothing was quite up to the usual standard.
My husband hosted my 50th birthday dinner with our friend and family. The ambiance and the cocktails were top notch, the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the jazzy speakeasy setting; I know we will definitely be back to enjoy more libations.
One last bit of information to think about before going, the restaurant charges a tourism tax onto of the regular food tax, so keep that in mind.
All in all a great restaurant to go to enjoy a night on the town.
Our waiter, Jake, was TERRIFIC! I would go back just to have him serve us again because he was genuine and gave us great recommendations and everything tasted fantastic
This was for a birthday brunch! Would recommend!
My husband and I stayed at The Ambassador Hotel and this restaurant is in the hotel. The menu looked good and it was convenient , so we made reservations. We were seated at a table that was bumped against the server station which is the reason for the poor rating for noise level. Glasses clinking, ice clinking, silverware clinking. I get the space restrictions because of Covid but the table should have been further away. Our $100 bottle of wine was decanted and was literally set on the server station to save room on our table for entrees. The food and beverages were great and we would eat here again but would wait for a better table.
